We were all sitting at a table on the porch. Morgan was busy playing with one of the figures I had created using my power over reality.
"So.....(Y\N).....care to explain how you know....."
"Morgan. Her name's Morgan."
"Yeah,well Danvers here was one of the people to first recognize Pep's symptoms. She took her to the hospital and then brought me the news that I was going to be a dad." Tony explained.
"Stark,I'm still hurt that you didn't name the kid after me." I joked.
"Oh come on! We call her Danvers Junior Jr. Does that work with you?"
"Sort of....anyway Scott has something to explain to you." Scott then explained his plan. Tony listened to the whole thing but occasionally frowning.
"Now,we know what it sounds like..."
"Tony after everything you have seen,is it really impossible?" Steve asked him. Did they forget whatever schist I told them?
"Quantum fluctuation messes with the Planck scale which then triggers the Deutsch proposition. Can we all agree on that?" Tony ranted off the words. I was proud to call this guy my friend.
"Your....talking the same thing Danvers was talking about."
"Yeah well she has a good brain."
"He's essentially saying you won't be coming back home." I butted in cause well.....Tasha,Rogers and Scott were looking like they have arrived at a foreign country and didn't know the language.
"I did." Scott also butted in.
"No,you accidentally survived. Its a billion to one cosmic fluke. And now you want to pull off a.......what did you call it?" Tony asked with a frown.
"A time heist." Scott said with pride evident in his voice.
"Yes a time heist. Of course,why didn't we think about this before? Oh because it's laughable? Because it's a pipedream?" Tony was practically yelling.
Morgan looked at me. I simply nodded at her,and sent a telepathic message to her telling her to ignore what's happening.
"The stones are in the past. We can go back and get them."
"We can snap our own fingers and bring everyone back." Natasha said,trying to convince Tony.
"Or screw it up any worse than he already has,right?" Tony argued back.
"I don't believe we would."
"Gotta say,sometimes I miss that giddy optimism. However high hopes won't help if there is no logical,tangible way for me to safely execute said Time Heist. I believe the most likely outcome is our collective demise." Tony continued to argue.
"Not if we strictly follow the rules of time travel. That means no talking to our past selves,no betting on sporting events--" Scott argued back. I was just sitting and staring at Scott.
"Dude....please tell me your plan to save everyone isn't based on 'Back to the Future' " I said with a bewildered expression cause that ain't how time travel works.
".......nO....."
"Good,cause that would be horse shit." Tony said.
"That's not how Quantum physics works Scott." I said while watching Morgan. She was talking to Pep. Pep finally noticed me and waved over. I gave a little smile.
"Tony we have to take a stand."
"We did take a stand,yet here we are." Tony said while standing up.
"I know you got a lot on the line. You have a wife and a daughter. But I lost someone very important to me. A lot of people did. And now,now we have a chance to bring her back. Bring everyone back. And your telling me you won't even--" Scott ranted on until Tony interrupted him.
"That's right Scott. I won't even. Got a kid." Morgan came running and jumped on Tony.
"Mommy told me to come and save you and aunty (y/n)."
"Good job. Me and....'aunty (y/n)' are saved. Aren't we?" Tony said while picking up Morgan.
"Well sort of." I said while mentally thanking Pep. If Morgan hadn't come,I was afraid Scott would lose his cool. Pep said a welcome through our telepathic connection.
"I wish you had come here to ask me for anything else. Anything else. Honestly...I....I missed you guys,it was....Oh and the table's been set for seven." Tony said while walking away.
"Tony,I get it. And I'm happy for you. I really am. But this is a second chance." Steve said with a somber expression.
"I got my second chance right here,Cap. I can't roll the dice again. If you don't talk shop,you can stay for lunch." Tony said while walking back in the house.
"He's scared." Tasha said.
"He's not wrong though." Steve said while walking towards the Audi.
"Yeah,but I mean,what are we going to do? We need him. What, are we gonna stop." Scott said while catching up with Steve.
"No,I wanna do it right. We're going to need a really big brain." Steve said and got into the car.
"Bigger than his and her's?"
"Uhh....not bigger...but....just as big though he is a close second." I said while putting on my suit.
