Kong mengrui POV
I woke up early and let out a sigh, I pick up my phone sending a quick text I need someone to talk to, meet me at school ASAP I knew he wasn't going to be up yet so I put my phone back on my desk and headed for a shower in my joined bathroom
once I was done I wrapped the towel around my waist and headed back to my room, taking a pair of cream jeans and a white shirt, getting dressed I plugged in my hairdryer before checking my phone Sure thing, 10mins before class or do you need more time was the response he gave, I think it over for a minute while I dry my hair before texting back we might need more time then that father has gone insane within a few seconds of sending that text my phone lets out a ping see you in half an hour
I looked at the time and raised my eyebrow "that gives us an hour before class" rolling my eyes I simply don't reply and brushed my hair, it's long, it reaches just below my shoulder blade, long black and silky just like my mothers, after brushing it out I tie it in a loose band just to hold it back from falling over my face.
I shrug on a grey blazer and head downstairs to the kitchen where my mother stood making breakfast "morning mother" I say with a sweet pleasant smile, embracing her in a gentle hug,
mother had been getting tired a lot lately so a few months ago my father took over the company, needing excessive help from me, mother knows I help a lot, we don't know what is wrong with her, we have been to the doctors but she refuses to have any sort of scans or injections so it's hard for them to find out what exactly is wrong, she told them how she feels but despite their conclusions of symptoms she still refuses the tests, she takes some medication for the pain but only if I force her to when I can see she's in pain, she hates medications
I take a seat at the large table in the dining area, it's big enough probably to fit about 12 people at the table, despite their being only 3 of us here mother use to have meetings here with clients, we also have someone come just to check on mother when we are not around, but we told her it was someone to help clean or keep her company, Mother has friends but are often working
Father walks in and I shoot him a glare, he lowers his head and looks away from me, I let out a sigh, he pissed me off last night, my mother brings breakfast in and we sit down to eat, after that I got up "I have to head out early today, I'm meeting Brother Dang Dianfa" my mother smiled at nodded and I gave her a quick hug, I went to the door and put on my white shoes and headed out to school
in 10 minutes I arrive at the school and sit on one of the benches outside, under a large blossom tree, It's near winter so it's not in bloom but being by the tree brings me a calm feeling, I was staring up at the naked branches of the tree and didn't see Dang Dianfa walk up, I let out a scream as he jumped on me, my voice went quiet when he put his hand over my mouth laughing
he's a bit taller than me but not much, my family is short even if I outgrew my parents, I'm still shorter than most of the people I know, he had short black hair that hung down all around his head, the front just above his coffee brown eyes, he smiled at me and stood up "So what the crazy fool do this time to the company "
I look up at him with a sad expression "Oh nothing, yet..... he just wants to marry his only child to some stranger to make a larger family business and yet not even tell me anything about them, Mother doesn't even know, and he doesn't want her to know till after the wedding" Dong Dianfa was staring at me with a completely blank expression, I'm not sure if he's in complete shock or if he's trying to figure out if I was joking or not
after a few minutes of silence, he reaches up and scratches the back of his neck letting out a nervous chuckle, I guess he could tell I wasn't joking "wow you are right, he has gone insane, why don't you just decline?"
I shook my head "I don't mind the whole arranged marriage thing, I have no interest in anyone anyways, and it would be good for the company to have them merge as a family, it would also make us stronger, and with the father running it, and me busy with school I think he could do with the help" I shake my head again "I just really not sure, they are our rival company and merging would do wonders"
Dianfa put a comforting hand on my shoulder "then do it, what's the worst that can happen, would your father marry you off to some ugly duckling, and take down your rival company while you're at it will make things easier and you can concentrate on your studies"
I let out a long sigh, just as the bell rings "I guess I can do it" there were many people around, they had slowly gathered here but I and Dianfa are often left to our own devices anyways, I nod and head into class
Li Shuanghui POV
I grumble and slung my arm over my eyes from the blinding light as the curtains were drawn back, I didn't want to wake up, the light wasn't even necessary, I blink a few times allowing my eyes to adjust to the sun, I look up from where I'm laying on the floor, my father stepped into my view "well good morning to you to old man, what do you want?" he grumbled at me
"get up, I already told you what's happening you need to dress properly, we are going shopping now get up" he spat those words with a hint of anger
I grumbled and rolled overturning my back on his playing with the sheets of my bed that hung over the edge "go away"
"be downstairs in the next half an hour, and clean yourself up, if you try anything I'll make sure you never see that bike again" with that he walked out slamming the door behind him
I growl and get up, grabbing a towel and heading into my bathroom to get a shower, after finishing I get out to grab a pair of dark blue jeans, and a greyish top, getting dressed, I pull on some black biker boots and a towel dry my hair, I took half an hour to just shower, I smirk as my old man storms back in my room "What's taking so long" he shouts out at me
I shrug and continue to dry my hair "I can't leave my hair wet father, I could get ill" I say to him mockingly, it seemed to annoy him more than when I call him old man, he grumbled mumbling something along the lines of a useless son as he stormed back out of my room, I rolled my eyes, brushing my hair into a somewhat hot mess style before grabbing my jacket and following the old man out the door "hey old man where are we going"
he shook his head "you are staying with me till the deal is done, and you are married, I don't trust you not to threaten them"
I frowned "mother would not agree with this" just as I said that mother walked in with tea on a tray, placing it on the glass coffee table
she looked at me with a sweet smile "actually son, I think it's a great idea that you are going to be getting married, and I hope to meet them soon, I do hope whoever your father has chosen will be good for you and not just for the company" with that a gaped at her in disbelief as she headed back out the room
I let out a deep sigh clenching my fists up "when will I be meeting them, I want to talk to my supposed Fiance"
my father shook his head at me "no way, you will find out on the day of the wedding, I'm sure I just told you I don't trust you, if you knew who they were you sure as hell would threaten them"
I frown and glared at him "you old man have lost it, I can't believe you even got mother to agree with it" I went to get up to storm out the room, but I caught his glare
"you leave and I'll take it as permission to destroy that bike" his face was calm, and not a good calm it was slightly terrifying.
I slouched back into my seat and mumbled quietly "fucking crazy old man" I thought I said it quiet enough, father didn't hear it
"Shuanghui! do not speak to your father like that, you are getting married and that's final, I will take more than your little bike away if you keep behaving like this" I looked up at my mother in shock, shit she heard me, "now come and have breakfast" she ushered for us to follow her, and so I did
dad remained calm, but there was something strange about all this but I couldn't figure out what, we had breakfast before the old man dragged me out of the house
Dong Dianfa POV
I watched Mengrui, I was sat next to him in our business studies, I'm in this because I want to help Mengrui when he takes over the company, also for the fact that it's because of his family that I and my siblings are getting the education we want and need
after I befriended Mengrui when he was getting bullied in freshmen year, his family had offered countless times to help and we continued to refuse, but they wouldn't allow us to refuse when they found out we were struggling to pay for the school fees, so I want to help them like they said actions speak louder than words, and studying and being by Mengrui side through everything is the least I can do
But right now, staring at my best friend, my brother he seems so worried, upset, distant, almost like he's completely lost, all morning he has been fiddling with his pen, and not paying attention to class, luckily I'm taking notes,
the bell rang for lunch and I look at Mengrui "brother" Mengrui didn't respond, he slightly jumped when I put my hand on his shoulder and gave him a light shake "let's grab some lunch" he nods and I pull him up from his seat and lead the way to the cafeteria, we grabbed lunch and headed out to the blossom tree
we sat there in silence, I ate my food staring at him as he sat there not moving, he was thinking, I let out a sigh "Kong Mengrui if you do not eat I will stuff the food down your oesophagus and make sure you can not puke it out"
He gave me a disgusted look but he started eating, I frowned after he took a second bite and put his food down "I'm full I don't want any more"
"Mengrui! you may be upset but you can't starve yourself, you need to eat, you can't allow your body to suffer just because you are going to get married, we don't even know if she will agree to it, I'm sure it will be fine"
He sighed and looked at the food before looking at me "he doesn't even want mother to know till, after the wedding, I don't know why but he won't even tell me who I'm getting married to, or anything about them, and I won't even know their name, or how they look intill the wedding"
I shook my head "Father is very shocking at the things he does, but please eat, even if you get married I will still be by your side" I said patting his shoulder and giving him a reassuring smile, it seemed to have calmed him down because he finished eating his food and then was paying attention to the rest of our classes for the day
