Title: The Fire That Took Them Down

"If f**king kidnapping them didn't work, what will? These kids are nearly impossible to kill." The headman said, slamming the red figure that represented an eighteen year old kid.
"I'm surprised even the fourteen year old is still alive." One scoffed. "You'd think he'd at least be dead by now."
"Not if he's with those kids." The headman said. "We're the first mafia to even get close to killing them. Most have given up and found other ways to fill the debt other than just wasting their time by killing the kids to get the debt back."
"What are they in debt for again?"
"Doesn't matter. They owe us ten thousand bucks. If we don't get that back in one way or another, we might end up disbanding."
"That's not how Mafia's work-"
"Does anyone have anymore ideas?!" The headman snapped, tired of the bickering between his head men. "Because if not, I'm going to send one of you to sneak in their houses at night and kill them. Come back without at blood on you and I'll kill you myself."
"Sir?" A young spy knocked on the conference door, slowly opening it to reveal himself. "We have news that the boys in our debt is going on a camping trip this weekend."
"We could set the forest on fire."
Everyone looked at the headman for approval. No one had to say anything to know that his face had approval written all over it. A proud smirk with a small chuckle.
"They'll burn in Hell with all the other clients that decided not to pay us back."

Hyunjin stretched his arms up into the air, a great big smile on his face as he walked next to his best friends. "This is going to be the best spring break ever."
"That's if that stupid mafia finds us." Seungmin snorted, typing away on his phone.
"Stop writing your stupid fanfics on your phone and cheer up." Minho elbowed him. "You're fifteen, have some fun."
"At least I'm not an irresponsible seventeen year old." Seungmin spat back.
Minho's face fell. "Yah." His voice deepened to a much more irritated tone, giving Seungmin a death glare.
"Hey, be nice you two. This is supposed to be a fun trip without worrying about who wants what from us at school. Drug free this time." Chan shot Changbin a look.
"I didn't want my mom to find it while I was away okay? Besides, if I lost that my a** would have been kicked by Choi." Changbin said.
"How was your sweet sixteen by the way, hyung?" Jeongin asked. "I never got the chance to ask after we got back to school. Sorry, it was like months ago."
"Nah it's fine." Changbin brushed it off. "My Mom actually got me a car so it was a pretty sweet, sweet sixteen, if you know what I mean." Changbin shrugged his shoulders.
"When are you going to take that to school?" Jisung asked. "Didn't you get your drivers licenses recently?"
"My mom won't let me take it to school. She says I need to use the bus while I can." Changbin rolled his eyes.
"Hey looked we're here!" Woojin pointed to the camping spot.
It was an open area surrounded by trees. In the middle was a spot specifically made for a fire. There was even a picnic bench.
"Are we gonna make s'mores?" Jeongin said excitedly. The fourteen year old jumped up and down, his energy running wild at the exciting thought of s'mores.
"I brought things for s'mores." Felix said. "I thought if we're going camping, we should at least make s'mores and tell horror stories. How does that sound?"
"Traditional. We do that every year." Chan said, nodding his head approvingly at his younger cousin.
"Yay!" Jeongin cheered. His face suddenly fell. "Awe, will we be able to go next year? Chan and Woojin will be graduated."
"We went when you were in middle school. What will be the difference?" Woojin said with a smile. "We shouldn't even had brought you when you were seventh grade, you tried to steal the Coke in my bag which I specifically said it was supposed to go to someone else."
"I was twelve." Jeongin said in his defense. "You can't expect a twelve year old boy to not try and steal your drugs when he knows you have them."
"He's right." Chan said as he threw fire wood into the pit. "Now put up the tents."
"I'm just glad we're not the drag addicts." Hyunjin said. "We probably wouldn't have these camping trips if we were."
"None of us are stupid enough to do that." Seungmin said as he helped Felix put up the large tent. "It's the kids we sell it to that are stupid enough to do it."
Jeongin shrugged. "Maybe we are stupid enough to do it, just have more self-control than everyone else."
"Smart boy." Chan ruffled the boy's hair, a bright, proud smile on his face as he did so. "This is why they asked you to go to that school for the gifted."
Jeongin rolled his eyes. "Then I wouldn't be able to see you guys as much. They give out more homework and make you study more. I'm not about that life."
"Yet you're about the selling drugs life." Minho put his hands on his hips and raised an eyebrow at Jeongin.
"Hey, I'm making money." Jeongin said back.
Everyone let out a hefty laugh.
Though, they did worry about what would happen to Jeongin as a young immature teenager who sells drugs, they enjoyed having him around. He was their mood maker, and more times than not, was the reason they were smiling instead of walking around with a slump in their posture and a frown on their face. They all saw him as a little brother they had to keep a close eye on. Twice now they had saved him from near death. When they told Jeongin it was better that he stopped hanging around them and picking up their habits, he argued it was nine or none, so they let him stick with them.
They got the tents up and Chan started a fire. Felix took out the marshmallows and broke the wired hangers he brought along with. They made s'mores with a hyper Jeongin and just as happy and energetic Changbin.
To think those two could be anymore alike is a scary thought.
Minho told a horror story about a stalker that could be at your throat half of the time, and Seungmin told a horror story about a young boy following you around with a bloody baseball bat.
By the time everyone had run out of stories, everyone was tired and Jeongin and Changbin were holding onto each other for dear life.
"You act more like a fourteen year old than Jeongin does." Seungmin snickered.
"Hey. . ." Changbin pouted. "That's mean."
"Be nice." Chan scolded.
"Be nice." Seungmin mocked.
Chan shot him a look. After a few seconds of silence, everyone bursted out into laughing fits.
"Did everyone finish their s'mores?" Woojin asked. "It's almost eleven, we should go to bed."
Jeongin pouted. "Nooo, not yet."
"Yes. If we want to go down to the river we have to go to sleep, Innie." Chan said with a shake of his head.
The boy pouted but when along with it since he was sure his hyungs would make him sleep no matter what.
Everyone climbed into their tents and tucked themselves in, ready to go to sleep.

Three men dressed in black entered the camp sight, quietly walking towards the empty fire pit.
"Where do we start?" One whispered.
"Fire pit. Use the gasoline to spread it to the trees."
"Escape route?"
"Run to back to the truck, it's still running."
"Far enough the fire won't get to it?"
"Yes. Now start."
Gasoline was poured into the pit before being dragged out to the trees surrounding the sight. Two stood by while the other one lit a match and threw it into the pit. They sprinted away, waking the light sleeper of the group.
Jeongin woke up at the sound of sprinting footsteps. He rubbed his eyes as he sat up.
His eyes widened when he saw the fire spreading out on the ground and towards the trees. He screamed, "fire!!"
Seungmin, who was sleeping next him, sat up quickly. His eyes widened at the sight of a fire. "No way that started by itself."
"It doesn't matter!" Jeongin stood and unzipped the tent, rushing out and unzipping the others.
The fire was nearly on every tree surrounding the sight, catching up to the tents.
Jeongin went for Hyunjin and Changbin's tent, but stumbled back when the fire hit their tent. His eyes went wide and watched as the two struggled to open the tent.
Chan grabbed Jeongin by the arm and dragged him to his feet. "We have to go!"
"But-"
"Jeongin, let's go!" Chan tugged him harshly away from the fire and towards the exit of the sight.
Jeongin let out a cry of pain at the tug against his skin. His eyes never left the tent as it slowly became lifeless.
"Hyunjin and Changbin hyungs. . ." Jeongin whispered as he was dragged away.
Jeongin snapped out of the trance and picked up at his own pace and sprinted next to Chan. He could only worry about who was with him right now. Chan, Woojin, Minho, Felix, And Seungmin. Wait, where was Jisung?
"Where's Jisung?" Jeongin shouted at Chan.
Chan looked around him. "He must have been caught in the fire!"
Jeongin bit his lip and tried to keep his energy up in running. He lost three of hyungs already. He could only hope the rest of them got out safely.
Jeongin came to a halt when a tree came falling down. It went straight down onto Felix.
"Felix Hyung!" Jeongin screamed out, running towards him.
"Jeongin, no!" Chan grabbed his wrist. "We can't do anything for him, that tree's on Fire!"
The sad thing was, Chan was right. It was a large tree, on fire with a lot of momentum from being up so high had just fallen on him, there was no way they could help him.
Chan led Jeongin around the tree and they started sprinting again, Jeongin barely keeping up from his want to cry.
Jeongin tripped over his foot, hitting his chin on the dirt. Chan pulled him back up and they continued to run.
"Be careful!" Chan shouted at him.
"I'm. . . I'm sorry!" Jeongin stuttered back.
Woojin was running to close to the forest itself and stepped into it, his pant leg setting on fire. He fell to the ground and watched with a plead as his friends continued to run without him.
"Please stay safe!!"
The tears were starting to rush up to Jeongin's eyes. He'd rather be next than watch any other of his hyung's be taken by this awful forest fire. Whoever had done this, must have knew they were going on a camping trip.
They ran towards the train tracks.
Part of a tree broke off and fell in front of Seungmin. He fell over the burning piece and clothes caught on fire. His screams rang in Jeongin's ears.
Minho's shirt got caught on a branch and the same thing happened to his clothes, set on fire.
Jeongin held onto Chan's hand as they continued to run towards the train tracks. He had to get out with at least one of them. He had to, he had to.
When they reached the tracks, Chan twisted his ankle and fell to the ground, letting go of Jeongin's hand.
"Ah, go!" Chan screamed in agony. "Get out! Get out!"
Jeongin shook his head but kept running.
He came to the edge of the forest and a huge explosion from the fire, sent him flying out and rolling down the hill towards the road.
Now, sirens and the sound of water rang in his ears. He opened his eyes and someone reached out to him.
"It's okay. Let's take you somewhere safe, there's a burn on your leg."
Jeongin looked down at his calf to notice the burn. When he saw it, he winced at the sudden pain fulfilling that spot.
When the man helped him up, he started crying.
"Why are you crying? Is it the pain?" He asked.
"No." Jeongin shook his head. "My eight friends. I watched them all die."
To Jeongin, this was the fire that took his family.
To the mafia, this was the fire that took them down.
