"THEY ACTUALLY LOOK REALLY CUTE TOGETHER," Kyla smirked mischievously as the group of friends watched the sleeping Grizz and Charlotte. The bus had come to a stop and everyone was slowly starting to wake up and get off the bus. They had been informed that they had to come back home and that the trip was cancelled before of how bad the storm was.
"They do. They would be like the ultimate couple," Valerie grinned.
Miles nodded, "Plus, they get along with everyone so they'll be the most powerful—" Miles stopped when Grizz started to move around. Grizz slowly opened his eyes as he felt something grip his left arm. He opened his eyes fully and caught sight of Charlotte hugging his arm while sleeping on his shoulder.
His eyebrows raised at the sight and he snapped his head to his friends that were grinning at him.
"You guys got cozy quick, huh?" Miles smirked, making Grizz lightly shake his head.
"Uh—"
"We're messing with you, Grizz," Kyla grinned before patting his shoulder, "Anyway, the weather was so bad that we had to come back home. Everyone's already off the bus."
"Better wake Char up then," Jason said, glancing back to see the last person aside from them leave.
"Should we—" Clark started, while Miles' eyes followed Valerie and her every move as she sneaked up from behind Charlotte.
"You shouldn't do that—" Miles started but Valerie quickly screamed into Charlotte's ear.
Charlotte released herself from Grizz and jumped up, her eyes snapping wide open. She stood up and glanced around, "What happened?! Val?!"
"How'd you know it was me?" Valerie popped up from behind Charlotte, making her let out a yelp.
"Because I know your scream you dipshit!" Grizz continued to stay seated as Charlotte jumped over her seat and tackled Valerie. Valerie let out a scream as she was brought down.
"Told you so," Miles sighed as Charlotte grabbed Valerie's collar and gripped it tightly.
"It's been a while since we've seen a Charlotte tackle." Clark snorted, while the rest watched with familiar eyes at the scene.
Charlotte used to tackle her friends and play rough with them but the boys were always there to yank her off of her friend.
"Yeah and you know what to do, get moving boys," Kyla snapped her fingers at the two girls and made her way out of the bus.
Jason patted Grizz's back, "It's finally your turn, Grizz. Don't worry, she won't kill you. Just bring her out of the bus and she'll be fine."
Grizz blinked at the group as they ran off the bus. He turned to Charlotte who was on top of a screaming Valerie. Valerie was laughing but at the same time she was calling for help. Either Charlotte was tickling her, or throwing light punches on her, or both.
Grizz came closer to the two and he reached for Charlotte. Charlotte felt hands grab her waist and she was easily yanked up and away from Valerie.
Valerie took this chance to roll onto the floor of the bus and slip through Grizz and run out of the bus. Charlotte tried to grab her but Grizz firmly wrapped his arms around her waist and carried her up. He held her standing straight so her back was pressed up against his chest. He began to make his way out of the bus, while carrying Charlotte like she weighed nothing.
Charlotte blankly watched when she made her way out of the bus, her friends standing in a semi circle with amused grins and smirks. She felt Grizz set her down onto the ground and remove his arms around her waist.
She shook her head, "I don't know why you didn't let me kill her," Charlotte muttered as she sent a glare at Valerie who was hiding behind Xavier and Miles.
"Because we're not in the woods and you won't have anywhere to hide her dead body," Kyla snickered, as Valerie gasped in feign hurt.
Charlotte suddenly furrowed her eyebrows and glanced around. She finally noticed that they were back home, at their town.
"The storm was too crazy so we had to come back." Miles informed once realizing that Charlotte was confused.
Charlotte frowned, "That sucks," She then pulled out her phone, "I guess I'll just call my parents to come pick me up."
As she dialled her mom's number, she heard the engine of the bus turn on. She turned around and watched as the doors to the bus closed and they drove off right away.
"What the hell?" Charlotte muttered as she brought her phone to her ear. She stood there in silence while waiting for her mom to pick up. When it kept ringing, she ended the call and quickly called her dad.
"None of my parents are picking up," Xavier frowned, looking at his screen.
"Mine too," Valerie mumbled, "And my mom's always on her phone online shopping."
Charlotte inhaled softly as she ended the call with her dad. None of her parents were picking up and they always did. Well, maybe not her dad but her mom always answered her calls.
Charlotte glanced up when she heard others talking about nobody answering their calls either.
"Maybe they're all sleeping," Kyla suggested but her tone was uneasy.
Miles slowly nodded, "Right. I guess I'll see you guys tomorrow, I'm gonna head home."
Charlotte nodded and she began to walk home. When Charlotte made it home, she turned on the lights and called out to her parents. She was curious as to why no one was responding to her. She went to her parents' room to wake them up but her throat ran dry when she didn't see them anywhere.
She quickly pulled out her phone and clicked on the group chat between her, Miles, Xavier, Kyla, and Valerie.

Charlotte received a text from Cassandra before she could respond to the group chat.

hey char, come back to where we were dropped of.

what's happening cass?

i don't know but everyone's in a panicked mode rn
Charlotte let out a sigh and instantly left her house. On her way to the field by the church, she met with Clark and Grizz who were walking together.
"Char," Clark called out as him and Grizz moved to walk with her. "Your parents home?"
Charlotte shook her head, "No, you guys?"
The two guys shook their heads as Grizz called out to the crowds of murmuring students. "So, who decided to call a flash mob?"
"I did." Cassandra answered, glancing up. She stood with Allie and Will.
"What the fuck, Cassandra?" Grizz questioned.
Charlotte stayed quiet and continued to stand with Grizz and Clark. Her friends shortly came over with worried looks on their faces.
"It's better than having two hundred people texting. Look, has anybody been able to contact anyone?" Cassandra asked, but she received numerous responses of 'no'.
"Well maybe they were evacuated, and there was some sort of miscommunication,"
Charlotte began to zone out, completely blocking everyone out. She was starting to worry about the whole situation. She knew something was up when the bus suddenly left without any warning, and now the missing parents? It hasn't even been a few hours and Charlotte was worried for her parents. It was very unlikely of them to just leave like that.
"..So, we should just, all go home." Cassandra announced, "Yeah, and if anyone doesn't want to be alone tonight can uh, come back to our house, if you want."
Charlotte glanced around at everyone who was watching Cassandra with conflicted expressions.
"Is that your advice, Cassandra?" Harry asked, narrowing his eyes at her. Charlotte held back a sigh. Everyone knew that Harry and Cassandra were rivals, and although Charlotte was friends with Harry, Charlotte was annoyed that he had to open his mouth. There was no time to start something foolish at a time like this.
"You got something better, Harry?" Charlotte spoke up, her eyes making its way to Harry. Harry opened his mouth but slowly closed it when he saw that it was Charlotte.
Charlotte glanced around at everyone who began to look her way. "I know whatever Cass is saying may be silly but we don't know what the hell is happening and she's trying her best to find solutions. The only thing we can do is to go home and sleep on it, and we'll figure out what's happening tomorrow morning."
Everyone murmured and began to head to their own homes. Charlotte looked at her four best friends, "Should we all crash at Miles' house?"
"Why my house?" Miles asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Because you're the only one with the big ass house," Kyla chuckled. "Yeah I'm down, let's go."
Charlotte waved bye to Cassandra and Allie before making her way to Helena. "We're gonna crash at Miles' house, do you wanna come with?" She asked her cousin, while giving Luke a small smile.
Helena glanced back at Luke before shaking her head, "I think I'm gonna stay with Luke tonight. Sleep well tonight, okay?"
Charlotte nodded and smiled, "You too," she looked at Luke, "Watch my sister for me, alright?"
Even though they were cousins, they were in the same age group, so they grew up together and were practically like blood sisters.
Luke nodded and slapped palms with Charlotte. "Will do boss, have a good night."
Charlotte waved at the couple before heading to her friends that were waiting for it. On their way out, Charlotte passed Grizz and Clark.
"I'll see you boys in the morning," She smiled as she patted Grizz's arm.
Grizz gave her a small nod and watched her go.
As Charlotte walked to Miles' house with her friends by her side, she had a feeling that by tomorrow morning, nothing was going to change.

guys i actually can't wait until i write the raid scene. i'm going to make charlotte react the way we all did, even though it's supposed to be a 'we're deadass serious as we break into your home and threaten you with weapons' kind of vibe, she's gonna be laughing her ass off till she passes out
