Why do we hold onto the things which are most toxic to us?

Which you used to call a home
You are nostalgic
I could picture everything
As if it was projected in front of me
But you left a wrecked 'home'
Like it never meant anything to you
I fear love would have a different meaning after awhile. It has caused so much damage in so many 'homes'. Its almost like a tsunami of hurt walked all over our hearts.
