Weeks passed, and Monday lunchtime came. Celine is yet again busy doing paperwork's on her desk. Morgan on the other hand came in the room with a smile plastered on her face "hey" she started
"Hi" Celine replied looking up to her
"So, I—"
"Hey!" someone interrupted opening the door. They both turned and saw Zoren "Look what I got?!" he asked showing a paper bag.
Celine opened the bag and saw a container of food "Zee, you didn't have to" she said taking out the contents of the bag
"Nah, I was in the area and I know you'd be busy doing work so, I decided to bring you lunch" Zoren replied then turned to Morgan "Oh, MG sorry. I forgot you're here too. Do you want me to get something for you too?" he asked
"Uhm...no. Nah. It's fine. I just had lunch. Thanks", said Morgan politely
"Are you sure?" he asked
"Yeah. Yeah" she replied "I'll be outside" she opened the door when she heard Celine
"Morgan, what were you about to say?" Celine asked
Morgan hid the paper bag behind her "Uhm... nah. It's nothing important. Enjoy your lunch" she replied and walked out the door. She then went to the café across the street.
Opening the door someone said "If it isn't princess charming" making her turn to the booth near the window "you're back. I'm guessing it didn't go as planned?" asked Westley.
Morgan made her way towards the pair. She set the paper bag on the table and shook her head.
Yana sighed "I'm guessing it had to do with Zoren?" Morgan didn't say a word then sat next to the girl and fiddled with paper bag "We saw him pull up a couple of minutes after you went up"
"Are you ok?" Westley asked on the other side of the booth
Morgan didn't reply
"Hey, lighten up. What happened to the optimistic Morgan we know? Maybe he's just there to get some paperwork?"
Morgan shook her head "No, they're having lunch"
"And why are you here?" Westley asked "you should be there guarding your girl, girl"
"Nah, I'm not a sadist" she paused looking down at the table and a tear slip out of her eye. She quickly wiped it away.
"Hey, hey. It's going to be ok" said Yana comforting the girl next to her
"That rhymes" said Westley earning him a kick in the shin from Yana
Morgan looked outside towards the buildings main entrance and right on cue, she saw Zoren and Celine on their way out and walked towards his car.
No one said a word as they watched the couple drive off. Yana placed a hand on Morgan's shoulder.
Afternoon came, and Morgan was in the kitchen eating an apple with a knife when Celine walked in "Hey" said the girl making her look up "have you seen mom and dad?"
Morgan pointed the knife towards the sliding door leading to the back garden
"Thanks" Celine said and made her way towards the door. But before she got out she turned to the girl ones more "hey, are you ok?" she asked
Morgan turned her head meeting the girls' eyes "yeah. You?"
"I'm great. Uhm... do you want to join me?" Celine asked.
Morgan shook her head "Nah, it's fine" she replied
"Ok. I'll be at the back" Celine replied watching the other girl get up from her seat and sat the knife on the sink. Morgan turned to her again nodded.
The next day came. Morgan walked in her boss' office with Celine on her phone. Zoren she thought and sat the coffee on the girls' desk "Alright, cool. I'll see you then" the girl said.
"Going out again?" Morgan asked
Celine looked up towards the girl "Mhmm" she replied taking a sip from the cup
Morgan sighed "It's Wednesday. And don't you have like a meeting with the Chui's tomorrow?"
"MG, we're just going out for a few drinks" Celine replied. Morgan felt a 'pang' sensation she the girl called her MG. She usually calls her Morgan or other pet names, she doesn't like being called that name because Zoren gave it to her. I know its petty but like...
"Do you want me to come with you? So that I can drive you back home" Morgan suggested
"No, need. Zee's going to do that" Celine replied and turned to her laptop again.
Morgan rolled her eyes "You two seemed to spend a lot of time together"
Celine looked up again "Well, yeah. We're working together now and it's just normal to spend more time with him" she replied
"Way too much" Morgan whispered turning away from her
"Wait, what did you say?" Celine called
"I said, you've been spending too much time with him" Morgan confessed
"MG, Zoren and I are working together now and its's only normal for us to spend time together" Celine explained
"Don't you think, it's a little bit too much?" she started "it's like he's with you 24/7. I don't even have a part in your life anymore"
Celine chuckled "Stop overreacting" she replied and turned back to her laptop
"Overreacting?" Morgan hissed "Ok, listen. Most days of the week he's the one driving you back and forth the house. Two, he comes and gives you lunch when he's in the area. Like? What the fuck, I swear the studio is like on the other side of town? Three, when you're not in the studio with him, you're always on the phone talking to him"
"Ok? What's your point?" Celine asked
"What's my point?!" Morgan asked. Her tone is a little higher now "What the fuck is my point?! Can't you see that you've been spending way too much time with him? Your best friends, Yana and Westley? When was the last time you've spend time with them? You've been busy 'working' with your new 'friends' that you forgot those people who genuinely cares about you"
"Spend time with them? Morgan, I've been busy. With work, with modelling. You know how busy I've been, and you want me to go hang out?!" Celine replied
Morgan laughed bitterly "Busy, sure. Says the one who's going out tonight" she paused "Let me ask you this, do you even know what happened last Saturday?" Celine thought for a second but didn't answer "It was Yana's birthday Cel. Everyone was there, except you, her best friend"
"What do you want me to do? Huh? Quit my career?! Do you even know how hard I've work for it!"
Morgan washed her face with her hands "All I'm saying is that know those people who truly loves you. The people who will be there for you no matter what. Not those you call 'friends' who only loves you because you're popular. Have you seen what they have been posting online about you? They're spreading rumours about you when you're not looking."
"Is this all about spending time with Yana and Westley because fine, sure. I'll call them now?" she said and took her phone
"It's not just them, Celine!"
"What do you want me to do!?"
"A—" Morgan paused "you've changed?.... This is not the Celine I remember"
"Fuck sake! Morgan! What are you talking about?!" said the other girl "Are you talking about Zoren? Morgan, I've been friends with him since I could remember! And I trust him even more that y—" she stopped herself from saying the last part.
"Come on, Cel! Say the last part! Say it! I fucking dare you" she shouted
Celine couldn't answer
"You're right. We've only known each other for what? Like a year or something? But does that guy know you like I do?" Morgan paused "Does he know that you like two sugars in your coffee? One brown and one white. Does he know you fidget with you hands when your nervous? Or your favourite ice cream flavour is pistachio? And that you cannot sleep without hugging your favourite stuff bear?"
A few seconds of silence filled the room
"This is not working out anymore" Celine replied
"And it finally came out" Morgan responded bitterly
"MG"
"Don't call me that!"
Celine didn't reply
"Was it because of him?!" Morgan asked "I've heard stories Celine. From the media, your friends, your parents. Let me ask you this, did you even love me? Huh? Or was I just a rebound?"
Celine didn't reply
"Answer me dammit!" Morgan insisted. "I think I got my answer" she added and walked out the door slamming it close.
