Cara P.O.V

I let out a sigh as I finished writing a letter for (N/n) and looked out of the window of the small hut. We arrived in a small abandoned town earlier today and set up camp for the night. It's been so long since I actually stayed in this small town, even longer since I last saw someone living here. As I continued to look out the window, I heard the slight sound of the wooden floor creaking. Looking back, I saw Maka walking inside. She looked at me and made her way over to me and sat down beside me.

Maka: "So how did you know there was a town here?" she asked.

Me: "...this was the town I was born in." I revealed to her.

Maka: "That explains why you were able to find it so quickly." she said laughing a bit.

All I did was give her a small nod before looking out of the window again.

Maka: "So... isn't it time that you tell me about your story?" she asked.

Me: "...yeah. Come on, might as well do it now. Let's go." I said to her.

Maka stood up while I slowly got up only to trip forward and wrap my arms around her. She quickly caught me as I swiftly and quietly placed my letter in her coat pocket without her noticing. I apologized for tripping on her before gesturing her to follow me. I led her to the center of my old town and stopped once we had a good view of the mountain.

Me: "Do you want to hear a nursery rhyme?" I asked as I looked back to her.

She nodded her head.

Me: "Once upon a time. Long ago, far away, millenniums before your day. Humans lived, all alone, before the Faunus ever roamed. There was magic all around. But this tale starts with one, all alone in her town." I began singing the nursery rhyme.

Me: "All her life, she dealt with strife. Being feared by those she loved. Till one day she ran away, forgetting words she heard one day. Listen, children to my words: Never venture to the woods! If you go in, you won't come back! Human child, human child, forgot what she learned. Human child, human child ran from the wolfs. Human child, human child ran into a bush. Human child, human child fell down a hole to the lair of something unknown." I finish singing to her.

Maka: "Yeah, I remember my... someone telling that nursery rhyme." she told her.

Me: "(N/n) and I made that nursery rhyme a long time ago... it was about me when I was a small child, around seven I think." I revealed to her.

(Tens of Thousands of Years Ago)

I sat between two bushes in the town square with a knife as the other children were playing in at the center of the square with their magic. Life wasn't fair. I slowly cut my finger with my knife and slowly made my blood stretch out and move through the air.

Everyone says my Blood Magic was evil, that I was the spawn of the God of Darkness. But there was nothing wrong with controlling blood was there? I never tried controlling another person's blood before nor did I did anything bad with my magic. I sighed as stood up after making my blood go back into my cut before healing it. I began quickly making my way around the square when I heard one of the children cry out in pain. Hearing this, I hid behind a bush not wanting to be blamed for something I didn't do. There were sounds of panic as the cries continued. I quietly looked from around the push to see that one of the children were on the ground with a shard of broken rock stuck in their leg. There was a fair amount of blood coming out of his wound.

Maybe... I can help him, show them that it wasn't bad. So, I lifted my hand up towards him from behind the bush. The children watched as the shard was slowly pushed out of the child's leg before making his blood return to his body and healing his small wound. The children look on with awe making me smile. I stood up and continued walking only for a sharp pain to hit the side of my head.

Me: "Ahh!" I cried out as I landed on the ground.

I quickly curled up in a ball covering my head as the sounds of other children laughed as I felt more rocks hit me. It hurts so much. I thought it would never end until the sound of someone yelling at them made them stop. The children quickly ran away as someone ran up to me. I slowly looked up to see a familiar tanned skin man with messy brown hair and brown eyes. He wore a blue-green tunic with a tan undershirt and black trousers with brown boots. His tunic was outlined with golden markings. In his hand, he carried a large scepter. His name is Ozma.

Ozma: "Are you alright, Cara? I've been looking all over for you." he told me as he tried to help me up.

Me: "Leave me alone! Just go on your stupid adventure already!" I yelled as I stood up rubbing my head.

Ozma: "Cara... please understand." he tried telling me.

Me: "All I understand is that you're leaving me with them! Can't you tell that no one likes my magic? You come to our town, help them and me, and now your throwing me to the wolves to die!" I continued to yell.

Ozma: "The world isn't a safe place. You're safer here. But I promise I'll come back one day and take you along with me if you want." he said with a smile.

I only crossed my arms and looked away.

Me: "If they don't kick me out, you're the only reason why they haven't yet." I pointed out.

Ozma: "Humans aren't that cruel to kick a small child into the wild, Cara. Have a little faith." he said rubbing his hand on my head.

Me: "...fine, I'm trusting you." I replied.

(Timeskip brought to you by townfolk glaring at Cara as she went foraging for food)

Not even a week has passed since he left and they burned down my home and ran me out. He said that humans aren't that cruel enough to kick a small child out... did he lie to me? Did he befriended me and gave me hope just to take it? Was this some sick joke of his? It doesn't matter anymore, I'm all alone again.

I found myself between two decisions right now as I sat between a fork in the trail. Do I go to the shore or do I go towards the mountain and venture deeper into the forest. I thought about it for a few minutes before deciding the direction with a stick. I picked up the nearest stick and placed it where the trails met and placed it on its point before quickly moving away. I watched as the stick fell towards the mountain. I nodded to myself and began making my way deeper into the forest. For an odd reason, I couldn't help but feel as if this was a bad idea, but I couldn't remember why.

I continued walking for an hour when the sudden howling from behind me nearly made me jump out of my skin. Then it quickly dawned upon me that the town hunters warned everyone that wolves lived deeper in the forest. I didn't know what else to do but run. So I ran, ran as fast as I can go, but I could hear something behind me and it was getting closer. There wasn't anything else I could do but run and as I ran, I quickly glanced back to see how many there were. Four wolves, they were so close. They would reach me in a matter of seconds. But as they got closer, they suddenly slowed down before I suddenly ran into something and quickly felt several sharp pricks before I found myself engulfed in a bush full of roses.

I cried out from the pain as I stumbled forward and through the bush with some of the roses ending up attached to my clothing and hair. But as I got through the bush, I found myself moving away from the bush and towards a large abyss in the ground. I couldn't stop myself as I found myself plummeting down it. I looked up and watched as the top slowly began to fade away. I was going to die.

That was when something strange began to happen. As I fell, the walls around me began to glow brighter and brighter by each passing second until I was suddenly blinded by its light and was forced to close my eyes.

I didn't know how long I had my eyes closed, it felt like forever, but I was too scared to open them. It was then I realized something, I can feel the grass on the ground. I slowly opened my eyes to see that I wasn't falling anymore, I was on the ground and not in the dark abyss. I slowly pushed myself up and looked around to see a vast field of different flower and plants. There were even animals I have never seen before. This has to be a dream... right?

Not knowing what else to do, I stood up and began walking around trying to find anyone I could talk to. I would search for several minutes with no luck and as I was about to give up, the light of the sun suddenly vanished as the everything in front of me began to be engulfed by the darkness. I looked up to the sky to see what was happening only to see a large mountain slowly moving across the sky above me and blocking the sun. My jaw dropped at the sight of this before I noticed that there were more floating mountains moving across the sea of clouds.

And as I continued to watch, I couldn't help but feel that this was definitely a dream until that feeling suddenly turned into a nightmare when I saw a large black creature with eight plant-like legs walking through the sea of clouds. Its body was as large as one of the floating mountains with strange black tendrils right underneath its body. It has a long scaly neck similar to a snake with a large black head slowly looking around as it let out a loud growl that echoed through the air. That was when I saw its body suddenly began fading away and charging into a large black cloud. Something like that... shouldn't even exist.

As the mountain over me slowly moved away, the light of the sun returned and I continued to watch the black cloud moving closer to me. I was about to continue walking only to noticed a dark shadow in front of moving that quickly moved closer towards me all while getting larger and larger with every passing second. Once the shadow reached me, it remained still. I quickly looked up to see something coming towards me swiftly. Without hesitation, I jumped away just as something came crashing down where I was standing. The sudden blast of wind of the impact sent me flying backwards a few feet causing me to hit the ground hard. I groaned in pain as I looked over to what had landed in front of me. It was strange. It was covered in white feathers and fur. The lower half of the body reminded me of that of a cat with large bird-like wings coming off the back. The head has a long pointed snout with longer feathers at the back of the head similar to a crown as its long neck was covered in fur.

The beast before me stared at me with its golden eyes as it crouched down ready to pounce at me if I had the slightest movement. But just as it was about to pounce on me, a green blur appeared in the side of the large beast before I was pulled to the side from a sudden pull of the wind. I could hear the sound of the beast crying out in pain with sounds of the ground being destroyed. I'm barely able to see as large vine stretching across the field leaving a trail of blood and white feathers. I watched as the vine slowed down as it lifted up the now dead beast with what looks to be a large claw. That was when I realized that if that was a claw, then the large vine is part of a very large monster. The thought of it made me shutter, where was it?

That was when I notice hundreds of black tendrils coming down from the large black cloud that was slowly moving overhead. I noticed that the large vine was connected to the cloud as several dozen black tendrils came down towards the body of the large beast and lifted up towards the cloud before being engulfed entirely by the cloud. There was a bright flash of purple and golden light for a brief moment in the cloud before it faded away. Now, the black tendrils quickly came down upon me. I stood up and tried to move away but there were just too many and ended up being wrapped up by the black tendrils. All I could do was close my eyes and wait for death.

...

...

...

I slowly open one eye after a few seconds of waiting for death. I watched as some of the black tendrils floated around me before some of them slowly morphed into the head of a snake. They began hissing once they moved closer to my body as if it was examining me. Curious, I opened my other eye and looked at the black snakes and tendrils curiously as the large vine slowly came back down. I watched as it shrunk in size. It looked like a stem of a rose with thorns covering the sides but at the front of it, was similar to an animal claw.

Once it was close to me, it opened its claw in front of my face and I flinched expecting it to crush me, but instead, it slowly closed and pulled something off of my hair. A white rose that must have gotten stuck when I ran into the rose bush. When it took it, I felt the black tendrils loosen its grip and dropped me to the ground. I landed on my butt and watched as the things that I thought was going to kill me began to retract up to the large cloud above with the white rose. The black cloud slowly moved towards the direction of where a large number of floating mountains and islands were but I quickly spotted a large island surround by the sea of clouds with the large floating mountains rotating around it.

Not knowing what else to do, I began moving in the direction the black cloud was going and as I ran across the field, I couldn't help but look around this beautiful new place. I felt like I was transported into a different world. Though I still couldn't help but be scared whenever I saw another strange creature in the distance. There was no telling if it was friendly or not and I didn't want to find out.

As I ran for several minutes, I found myself staring down at the edge of a cliff to see nothing but clouds moving by. I was on one of the floating islands. That was when I noticed a few of the strange wildlife near me were jumping across floating fragments of the floating island and mountains like a path. Looking at the fragments they were jumping on, I noticed that a lot of these fragments were justed as paths towards other locations like a bridge. I quickly made my way to the fragments where I saw the animals and began jumping from one fragment to another.

There were several close calls as strong winds would nearly push me off the fragment I was standing on or while I was jumping to another fragment. I even notice one of the strange animals in front of me being blown off a fragment and into the bottomless sea of clouds below us. As scared as I was, I continued to move from fragment to fragment for a few hours until I arrived at the island surrounded by the floating mountains and islands. I quickly spotted the black cloud floating along the ground, it was much smaller than before. I continued to follow it as it moved to the center of the island where a lake was with a large tree in the middle of that lake. The water was rather strange. One half of the lake was full of life and clean water while on the other half looked rather dead and with a pitch black liquid filling the other half of the lake. As the black cloud moved closer to the lake, it began planting the white rose near the edge of the lake.

I began moving to the lake and sat at the shore where the clean water met the black liquid. It was rather beautiful and I couldn't help but feel at home here.

?????: "What do we have here?" a voice suddenly said.

I quickly looked around for the source of the voice only to look over to the black liquid in the lake to see a slim male with curved, segmented horns that arc back over his head and curve upward to a point. His form is a deep purple that seems to draw in surrounding light. The way it surfaced from the lake and moved closer towards me with his body twisting and turning made me more want to run away, yet I couldn't move away. I sat there as the strange purple man came closer to me and stopped a few feet from the shore before fixing his body and standing up straight.

?????: "A human child? ...how interesting, it appears you found a gateway here. Most impressive, though, I am surprised that he hasn't killed you yet. I was certain that I made him created him to detest humans, how odd." he said rubbing his chin.

I watched as he looked over to the black cloud and snapped his fingers. The black cloud suddenly stopped what it was doing and floated over the purple man.

?????: "Why is this child here and why haven't you killed her for trespassing?" he asked.

I only watched as the black cloud only floated still in front of the purple man who nodded his head several times.

?????: "I see... you're rather lucky, Child. It appears you are the sole human to have figured out his toll for entering his garden." he said sounding impressed.

Me: "G-Garden?" that was the only word I was able to say.

?????: "That's right. I believe I can at least tell you his name as a reward for surviving this long. Be grateful since only those granted permission are allowed to hear or see his name if not, they will be unable to hear and fall unconscious. So listen carefully. This is my failed creation, (Y/n). Though he does have another name, my brother calls him, Eden." he stated.

Me: "Failed?" she question.

?????: "Yes. I created him to destroy all that my brother created but once he came across my brother's creations, he became entranced by them. I wanted to destroy him but my brother convince me not to. So he created a place for him to stay. A garden where my brother and I create our creations. For example, this place is where we created you all of you humans." he revealed.

The moment he said that made me all the more fearful. The man in front of me, he was the God of Darkness. I found the strength to got on my knees and bow my head down to the ground.

Me: "I-I am honored to be in y-your presence, D-Dark Lord!" I quickly told him.

God of Darkness: "Ahaha! I see that you know who I am and what I am capable of." he said to me.

I slowly looked up to see him lifting his hands up. behind him, dark creatures began surfacing from the black liquid. I heard stories from Ozma about creatures that the God of Darkness creates, the creatures of Grimm. But as they emerge from the black liquids, the black cloud known as (Y/n), suddenly attacked the Grimm with his black tendrils. The Dark Lord only laugh with amusement by this.

God of Darkness: "I see that you waste no time in destroying those who trespass without your toll or permission. Do you see that Child? That would've been you if you weren't so lucky. For you see, the one thing that (Y/n) despises most is humans, he sees them as an infestation in the world and would not waste time to destroy them. But in all honesty, he is simply jealous that you humans have our full attention." he stated.

As he said that, the leaves from the tree flew over to spot in the clear water of the lake and swirled around in a circle where the water began glowing gold. In that spot, a tall, naked, man with a crown of antlers upon his head slowly came up from the water. His complexion is golden with a soft golden light radiating off of him. It didn't take long for me to figure out who he was. The God of Light.

God of Light: "You know that isn't true brother, Eden simply dislikes that humanity destroys my creations and the land around them." he stated as he walked over to us.

God of Darkness: "Ah, Brother. Come to see the human that managed to survive this long in (Y/n)'s garden?" he asked.

God of Light: "I cannot say that I am not interested. Perhaps this human is fated to come here, Brother." he told him.

God of Darkness: "Fated? Don't make me laugh, Brother. She was simply lucky." he pointed out.

The God of Light walked over to where the water met the black liquid where the God of Darkness stood near and placed his hand on his shoulder.

God of Light: "There is no such thing as luck." he stated.

God of Light: "Tell me, Child. What do you desire?" he asked me.

God of Darkness: "Do you wish for the power to destroy those who seek to harm you?" he asked.

God of Light: "Or do you wish for the power to protect those you love?" he asked.

Both: "Whatever you desire, we may grant you." they said in unison.

I just stared at them not knowing what to say. Thinking back to what they said, the power of protecting those I love is pointless since there is no one I love or want to protect... but the power to destroy those who seek to harm me... is rather tempting. Everyone trends me like a freak, a monster... maybe I should be one? Then again, this won't make me happy. Looking back at everything, there was one thing I ever wanted.

Me: "I... want someone to be with me forever." she announced to them.

God of Darkness: "Are you certain? I can grant you this power." he said pointing his hand out to one of the large floating mountains only to fire a dark beam to make it explode into thousands of fragments.

God of Light: "Or the power to create and reforge." he said point his hand out to the destroyed mountain only to make it whole again.

Me: "No, I just want something to say with me... I tired of being alone." I stated.

God of Darkness: "... you passed." he said sounding rather surprised.

Me: "H-Huh?" I questioned.

God of Light: "We wanted to see what kind of human you were. This was a test to see if you were someone who would disrupt the balance we carefully created but you have shown us that you only want one thing, something to be with you." he said sounding happy.

God of Darkness: "I was so certain she would be tempted as well... oh well." he said disappointed.

God of Light: "That is why we shall appoint Eden to stay by your side." he said.

God of Darkness: "(Y/n) will destroy those who dare harm you." he announced.

God of Light: "He will care for you and all you care for." he announced.

God of Darkness: "But so long as he is outside of the Garden, he won't be able to use his powers to its full extent until certain requirements are met." he stated.

Both: "Now go and live your life, Child. We are curious to see what fate has in store for you." they announced as leaves began swirling around both me and the black cloud known as (Y/n).

I found myself standing in the middle of a forest with the two brothers nowhere in sight and the abyss in front of me with the only other thing being the black cloud in front of me. It began moving around erratically as it began moving closer to every plant near us as if it has never seen it before. This was going to be my new start in life with a gift from the gods. I couldn't help but smile, it felt like I was the main character of a story.

(Timeskip brought to you by Cara teaching (Y/n) things about being human and how to act)

It's been almost two years since I entered the garden and met the two brothers and things have been much better than before. I've been traveling the world with (N/n) for a while and our bond is close. At first, it was hard to communicate with him since he was unable to speak normally and he seems to be unable to change into a human. Though, this doesn't stop him from changing into other things like a fox or a bird. But we managed to get through our language barrier with him making certain moments like forming an X symbol in his cloud form to tell me no or stop.

I didn't think we would get along this quickly but we have. He is always watchful for anything that might hurt me which nearly gets us into more trouble than I like. Just a few months ago, when we were in a large city, he appeared in front of me when a thief tried to stab me. He wasted no time in killing the man by flying into his body before expending his body quickly. This resulted in a giant, bloody mess which resulted in us having to leave the city. But other than that, we've been doing great. We would kill any brigands we come across, help towns with wildlife problems, or protect refugees during a war between kingdoms.

Now, we find ourself making our way towards another town and (N/n) is currently in his small black fox form wrapped around my shoulder. As we walked on a dirt trail across the vast plain, (N/n) suddenly stuck his head up and growled towards the direction to our right. When I looked over, I spotted two individuals almost a mile to the east of us. I raised my hand up to (N/n) and petted him on the head.

Me: "It's alright. If anything happens, we'll take care of it." I reassured him.

He stopped growling and when back to his original position, though, he seems ready to fight if we were attacked. We continued walking for around ten more minutes until we arrived at a merging point between two other trails. We continued heading down the main trail with the two individuals fairly close enough to allow me to get a good look at both of them. One of them was a woman with fair skin, pale blonde hair and light blue eyes. She wore most of her hair down, with a small section of it tied into a small bun that trails some of the hair down below it. Most of her bangs were tied back, aside from a large lock that framed her face to her left side. Her attire consisted of a white, sleeveless shirt with a raised, pale blue collar and a blue rhombus-shaped crystal on the upper chest. She also has a white long, high-waisted skirt with a faint purple tint and a purple sash around the waist. The other was a familiar man with new armor, I quickly recognized him. Ozma.

I felt my blood boil as I curled my hand into a fist and (N/n) began to emit black smoke from his body out of reaction. This usually happened when he felt negative emotions just like a Grimm. I quickly increase my pace when I heard Ozma calling out for us to stop. But I ignored him and continued walking as if I didn't hear him. This didn't help as I glanced back to see him and the woman jogging up towards us. I cursed to myself and thought about running, but this would only make them think that I was a criminal or something. I sighed and quickly told (N/n) to relax but he only growled as they got closer.

Ozma: "Excuse me, but do you happen to know where this trail leads? We happened to lose our map and- ...Cara?" he said in shock once he caught up with us.

?????: "Do you know her?" the woman asked him curiously.

Ozma: "Yes... what are you doing here Cara? I thought I told you to-" he tried telling me.

Me: "To stay in the village?! They kicked me out literally a week after you left like I told you asshole!" I said before kicking him in the shin.

This quickly backfired as I forgot about his armor protecting his leg and ended up hurting myself. Which resulted in me crouching down to hold my foot. Ozma crouched down and reached out to help but (N/n) was quick to bite down on his hand. To all of our surprise, (N/n) bit straight through the metal and leather of his gauntlet. He cried out in pain as he pulled his hand away with (N/n) still biting down on his hand. The woman was quick to try to pull (N/n) away only to stop once his black fur changed into black porcupine quills surprising the two of them.

?????: "What is that?" she questioned.

Me: "(N/n)! Let go of him so we can leave." I told him.

He did as he was told and let go of his arm and fell towards the ground. To even more to their surprise, they watched as the black fox dissipated into black smoke and watched as it scurried along the ground and up my clothes before reforming into a black fox on my shoulders.

Ozma: "Cara... is that a Grimm?" he asked.

Me: "Maybe, maybe not, I don't care." I said moving away from him.

Ozma: "You need to listen, the creatures of Grimm are very dangerous, there's no telling what that one is capable o-" he tried telling me.

Me: "No, you need to listen! (N/n) has never once betrayed my trust unlike you! I listened to you and I nearly died... then again if it wasn't for you, I would have never met him." I said as he nuzzled his head against mine.

Me: "And he's only dangerous to other people, he's perfectly fine with me and that's all I care about, me! You told me once that humans aren't that cruel but they are." I pointed out.

Ozma: "Do you have any idea what a Grimm is? Monsters created by the God of Darkness, that seek to destroy humanity." he told me.

Me: "And? Maybe humanity needs to be destroyed with the number of wars they cause, the number of deaths, and the lies they tell to take advantage of people. (N/n) on the other hand, hasn't done wrong. He kills only when protecting me, he protects those I want to protect and loyal beyond belief. I have seen how scary he can be when he fully transforms, no kingdom would be able to stop him, no human or Grimm, only the Gods can stop him." I told him.

Ozma: "Well now you're being overdramatic. There's no such Grimm in the world. Come now, let us rid of it before it kills innocents and once that's over, I'll take you under my wing as I promised you." he said sticking his hand out to me.

I glance up to (N/n) who was staring down towards me with his glowing red eyes. No matter what I choose, he would listen. If I did give him to Ozma, I could see the world and learn to be a legendary hero... but would (N/n) die? If I had him over... I would be just another selfish human... I took a step away from him.

Me: "No... I don't think so. He's everything to me, the gods gave him to me. We're destined to be together. Come on... I want to get away from him fast." I told (N/n).

He nodded and changed back into black smoke and wrapped around my body before black wings formed on my back and began flapping. I could hear Ozma calling out to me, but I only ignored him and told (N/n) to keep going.

(Timeskip brought to you by Cara and (Y/n) hiding in caves with bounty hunters searching for them)

I continued staring at the fire as (N/n) laid curled up on my lap as he hid deep inside a cave. It's been a few months since we encountered Ozma and things haven't been going great for us. I messed up, I killed a woman who attempted to kill (N/n) with my magic... made all the blood burst out of her body. This caused a giant witch hunt for me and it didn't help that what I did cause so many negative emotions resulting in (N/n) to go wild and slaughtering everyone who tried to kill me.

Now, they're a bounty on my head. This isn't far... life isn't far... but at least I have you, (N/n). I began scratching the back of his ear when suddenly his head shot up. My head snapped in the direction he was looking and I was immediately greeted with an arrow coming out of the darkness. All I felt next was an unbearable pain as the arrow sunk into my right eye. I felt backwards crying out in pain as I fell onto my back. It hurts... it hurts so much.

I could hear the sounds of a dozen footsteps rushing over and I could hear some of them saying that it was so easy. But I was too distracted with the pain, it was like a knife being twisted in my eye. All I could do was scream in pain. The voices of my attackers sudden sounded panicked as all light from my campfire faded to darkness. I could hear the growls of (N/n) before the sounds of screaming took over. I could hear the sound of flesh being torn apart and screams of others in pain only for those screams to be extinguished in a matter of seconds.

Darkness... I couldn't hear screams anymore... I couldn't hear (N/n)'s growls anymore... I needed to find him but I was in too much pain and I couldn't see. Suddenly, I could hear the sound of something moving quickly down the cave tunnel before it arrived at my location. I felt something grab onto the back of my clothing and suddenly lifted me into the air. Next thing I knew it, I found myself moving quickly through the cave with something holding onto me, and soon, I was barely able to see light from the entrance of the tunnel. The moment we exited the cave, I heard someone yell fire before I felt more pain, this time, in my stomach.

That was also when I realize that it was (N/n) who was carrying me by biting down the back of my clothing. He body was covered in arrows and was an enlarged version of his fox form. He quickly ran through the forest outside and away from our hunters. I didn't know how long he ran but I told him to put me down so I could care for my injuries. I quickly pulled out the arrow in my eye and used my blood magic to close the wound... but I wasn't able to see anymore out of it. I continued to pull out the arrow in my stomach and close the wound as well before looking over to (N/n). He looked tired and he suddenly changed out of his fox form and back into his cloud form. He must be too tired to stay in that form.

Now we found ourselves moving through the forest and away from here. Maybe... we can go back to the Garden and live there. I think I would like that.

More pain.

More arrows.

They found us.

I fell onto my back and looked up to the sky. I couldn't help but laugh to myself through the pain. In the end, it didn't even. My life wasn't destined for greatness. Everyone HATE me. I just laid there unable to move, there was so much pain in my arms, legs, and stomach... this was it for me, isn't it? Then, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted (N/n) floating down in front of me meaning he probably finished the last of the hunters.

I watched as he slowly formed a human-like arm and reached into his cloud form to grab something inside him. He pulled out something like a clear, black rock made of glass. I didn't know what he was doing but it didn't matter anymore... all I could do was give him a weak smile.

Me: "I... guess this is it (N/n). This is the end of me." I said weakly.

Me: "Hey (N/n)? ... If I was ever reborn and met you again, how about I become a monster with you and we could lay waste to this awful world? We'll wipe out everything together, all traces of sadness and evil and just destroy, destroy, destroy. Until there's nothing left that can hurt us." I said as tears began to run down my one eye.

Me: "Don't... you think... that sounds nice?" I asked as I began to cry... I don't want to die.

I watched as he moved up and down to tell me that he agreed with me. I couldn't help but let out a soft and weak giggle.

Me: "You... really... are... a... monster... my... monster." I said to him feeling weaker.

That was when he lifted the strange rock over to me and I watched as it began to glow softly as he brought it closer to me.

Me: "What's... that?" I asked.

He formed a tendril and moved it closer to me and pointed it at me, then to him, before pointing it to rock.

Me: "Will... we... be... together? Forever?" I asked in confusion.

He moved his form up and down once again telling me that I was right. I felt my weak smile becoming bigger as I slowly reached up to the rock as it got brighter and brighter. Once I grabbed it, it turned bright red. (N/n) began moving closer to me until his entire form was wrapped around me.

Me: 'Looks like... this is it (N/n). Remember ok? Don't kill and don't be killed. This is our promise to each other. We don't kill one another and try not to die. See... you.' I thought to myself as I stared up to the sky.

My body felt as if it was fading away... today... was such a beautiful day.

(Present)

Maka and I were standing inside the garden and I could see her shock expression as she looked up to (N/n) true form as the black tendrils came down to take the flowers I told her to carry as her toll. His large form slowly changed into his smaller cloud form and floated down towards us to examine us curiously. He has no memories. Everything was a complete reset for him. A new (N/n)... one who doesn't remember everything we did together.

I can see him moving around Maka's body as if she was a new toy for him to play with. I slowly walked over to Maka and hugged her from behind.

Maka: "Cara?" she questioned.

Me: "This... is it. I'm granting you permission to know his other name... it's Eden. Remember that, he'll obey you now that you know it. The exit..." I said pointing over to the island where I met the two brother Gods.

Me: "Is the large tree at the center of that island... please take care of him for me." I told her.

Maka slowly turned to me as I felt my body beginning to finally fade away. (N/n) was the only thing stopping me from passing onto the next life since we were one but without him, there's nothing holding me here anymore.

Maka: "Cara!" she called out as she reached over to me.

I don't want to die. There are so many more things I want to do and so many people I still haven't said goodbye yet. I don't want to leave (N/n)! Not yet, I don't want to break our promise!

Me: "I don't want to die!" I cried out before everything faded to white.

I opened my eyes.

I looked around to see that I had a body again and quickly around in confusion to find myself in a white void of nothingness. I couldn't help but cry... then I began laughing as I fell to my knees with tears running down my face.

Me: "I'm alone... even in death... damn it... damn it!" I cried out.

Me: "Please... somebody... anybody... I don't want to be alone." I begged.

I continued to cry only to feel a pair of arms wrapping around my body.

?????: "You dummy! You broke our promise! Why the hell did you die?" I heard a familiar voice cry out to me.

I glance back to see (N/n) in his human form.

Me: "(N/n)?" I questioned.

I could see the tears running down his face as he looked at me with the stupidest smile.

(Y/n): "I don't know why you died but it's fine. You must be tired of living as well as I am, isn't that right, Cara? We've been through a lot... but don't ever think you're alone anymore." he told me.

Me: "What do you mean?" I said sniffling.

(Y/n): "Look all around us... we're all here for you." he announced.

I slowly looked around only to see thousands of familiar faces from all of our past lives. Everyone we ever loved and trusted. Roman, Tori, Pyrrha, Atalanta, Mavis, Wolfgang, Sister Lily, Sister Daisy, Jack, Arthur, Iris... Sunshine ... and our precious children. Baldr, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. I felt like such a crybaby now.

I'm finally not alone anymore.

Third Person P.O.V

Maka found herself sitting on a train heading towards Mistral with a bottle full of black smoke swirl around inside. She was holding onto it as if her life depended on it. This was the last thing that Maka entrusted her with and she wasn't going to mess it up.

Maka: "Cara... I'll keep my promise to you." she said to herself as she looked out the window.

As she did, someone walked by here and suddenly stopped before sitting down across from her. She looked over to see a short teenager with tan skin. He has a faint, perpetual blush and freckles on his cheeks. His hair is black and his eyes are hazel. His name is Oscar Pine.

Oscar: "... give me a second would you, this is weird ok?" he suddenly said.

Maka: "...huh... can I help you?" she asked.

Oscar: "I... huh... does the name Ozpin, ring any bells?" he asked.

Every story must come to an end at some point. Whether it's happy or sad, good or bad, we must accept what happens. But that doesn't mean we can't be sad about it.

-Cara Signal

And that's where I'm ending it! Next stop, volume 5! Whoa!

R.I.P Cara Signal

She finally got the happy ending she wanted after so many long and cruel lifetimes.

Still... this hurts a lot... she been around since the beginning of the story T_T
