Yesterday afternoon...
Cadence had been sitting in the gardens, bathing in the warm sunlight
She took out a pure white book decorated with shiny pink gems and golden linings
It was a beautiful and extravagant diary that Lady Lena had gifted her when she began her lessons
It had been hidden away in her drawers until one day Cadence once again stumbled upon it
Now that Levin has gone far away, writing in this diary became one of her hobbies and past times
And so just like usual Cadence was documenting all her observations and thoughts
Nothing big or secretive, just little things that she never bothered to say out loud
Halfway through writing her daily journal, she was interrupted by the appearance of a maid
[ "Your royal highness, tea has been prepared and Madam Lena is awaiting you" ]
[ "Oh so early? Well I'll be on my way" ]
Cadence got up and began to make her way to tea time
Completely forgetting about the existence of her diary, it remained laying on the grass as she headed off
Not too long later, the Emperor had been walking around the garden trails when a bright shine caught his eye
He walked over to the light and found it's the source, the pink gems on Cadences diary
Klaus picked the book up, not knowing what or whom it belonged too
So he did what most people in his situation would, open the book and check it's contents
Halfway through the first page, Klaus finally found out the owner of the book
His beloved little daughter, Princess Cadence
As he continued reading, he realised that this seemed to be her diary or journal of some sort
Klaus knew that the right and respectful thing for him to do was to close the book and hand it back to her
Well not so, unfortunately, his curiosity got the better of him and he ended up reading all her entries
He knew he should've stopped when he realised but... he thought that maybe he'd be able to understand her better after reading it
And he indeed found out many new things about Cadence
He frowned at the many mentions of how she was so bored without Levin and her desires for friends her age
[ "Ray" ]
Klaus's deep, chilling yet attractive voice called out
A black figure immediately appeared in front of Klaus, kneeling on the ground
[ "Master, I await your orders" ]
[ "Go find me a list of all the noble children in the kingdom. Make sure they're close to her age and exclude all males" ]
Naturally, the black hooded man by the name of Ray knew who his master referred to as 'her'
Ray was Klaus's most trusted and capable, spy, shadow guard and assassin
If others knew of how the Crimson Emperor was using the infamous 'black shadow' for such trivial jobs, they'd probably choke on their own blood
But Ray was completely loyal to Klaus and thus he nodded obediently before disappearing to complete his task
Back to the present...
Cadence's POV
"Greetings to your royal highness"
The pair of purple haired girls said in perfect unison
[ "My name is Allycia Vanair and this is my younger twin sister Claira" ]
[ "The two of us are the second and third daughters of prime minister Arnold and dutchess Corlina" ]
[ "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance" ]
The twins smiled and curtsied elegantly
Their every move and action seemed to be perfectly in time with one another
I couldn't help but stare at their almost identical appearances
With dark curled eyelashes, a pale clear complexion and beautiful large magenta eyes, they both looked like living dolls
[ "G-good afternoon.." ]
I said quite awkwardly
What on the Earth was going on right now? Why have these two suddenly appeared in front of me?
Sigh, I don't understand anything that's going on...
[ "The two of them have already turned 5 and are here to help prepare you for your upcoming ball" ]
Father says
[ "It is important you make social connections as the rightful princess of this kingdom" ]
He whispers this part so that only I can hear
Ah, I get it...
He wants me to befriend the prime minister's daughters so I can gain social standing in this world
Sure I'm the queen's daughter and princess of the kingdom, but no one even has a clue about the origins of my Mother
I do not have any influential and wealthy grandparents as the other princes and princesses do
So I guess this must be his way of helping me..? Perhaps he isn't so heartless after all... maybe caring even...
Well anyways I see what Fathers intentions are
The only problem is...
H-how do you interact with other humans..?
In my past life, I had no friends and even now I have nearly no social experience
I quite literally have one friend and that one friend also happens to be my elder brother
So I have no idea how I'm supposed to talk to these two!
In the first place, how do you even become friends?
What are the criteria we have to fulfil to even be considered friends?
Ahh, I really have no clue on what to do or say!
[ "Cadence go give them a tour of the palace... I have work to do" ]
Father says clearly
What?!
Well just great, now I'm going to be alone with these two beautiful twins whom I've never met before today!
Not that Father would have really helped even if he was here, but still!
What am I supposed to do?!
How does someone so antisocial and clueless like me interact with these noble daughters?!
Even though I was reluctant to do so, all I could do was swallow back my worries and nod my head obediently
[ "P-please follow me.." ]
I said in my most believable 'i'm not nervous' voice
Oh god, somebody please help me...
