I woke up the next morning stiff and groggy. I sat up and looked around the room. Anthony was sitting on a chair near the window looking out at the street below. "Morning, Rose." He said almost to himself. I swung me feet on to the ground and walked over to him. "What are you looking at?" I asked coming closer. Anthony stood up abruptly when i was just close enough to see out the window. "Nothing." He said walking past me. I scrunched up my eyebrows and looked out the window. Nothing interesting seemed to be going. Out of the corner of my eye i saw two dark figures shift. I turned quickly to catch a glimpse of the figures moving out of my range of vision. I looked back at Anthony who was sitting on his bed looking at me intently. As if trying to figure out what was going on through my head.
He turned away quickly. I raised an eyebrow even though i knew he couldn't see me. I walked over to my bed and grabbed my boots, shoving them on my feet. I grabbed my dagger just as Anthony wen to reach for it. I gripped it tightly staring at him with a bit of suspicion hovering in the back of my mind. Time to go, Rose. I told my self. I walked past him briskly and made my way down the stairs. I flipped the grumpy owner a gold Florin as i made my way out the door toward my horse. "Hey! Where are you going?" I heard Anthony say behind me. I rolled my eyes. "As if you don't know. You've probably been following me for longer than i think you have." I shot back. I put my foot into the stirrup and swung my other leg over my horses back. "Okay, i guess you're smarter than i thought you were." He said smiling mischievously. I glared at him then kicked my horse. Did i really come across as stupid? I guess i kind of did seeing as how i let a complete stranger sleep in the same room as me.
I sped out of the town and into the rolling hills. Continueing on toward the castle. I heard an extra set of hooves as i rounded a corner. I looked under my elbow. How did he catch up so quickly? More importantly why was he following me? If he was following me...? I sped up a little bit more and turned a few corners quickly. Suddenly i was on the ground; someone heavy keeping me from getting up. I tried to reach my dagger but the person had trapped my arm. "Can you fight?" The person said huskily. It took me a while before i realized it was Anthony. "What kind of a question is that?!" I said loudly trying to push him off me. I felt pure muscle as i struggled to get him off me. I tried to hide the satisfaction i found in that.
He stood up and pulled out a broadsword that glinted in the golden sunlight. I stood up and looked at it with awe. I had always admired swords even though i had been training with them since i was ten. "Then fight me." He said challenging me. I raised an eyebrow walking over to my startled horse. I cued to him and pulled out my own sword from the sheath on my saddle. I pointed it at him as we began to circle each other. "Now, Rose, i don't feel comfortable hurting a girl so I'm going to go easy on you." He said almost reassuringly. "Now, Anthony, I don't feel very comfortable hurting girls either so i'll go easy on you." I scoffed. He lost his composer for only a split second, but that was all i needed. I swung my sword around toward his shoulder. He only barely blocked it. Using every ounce of momentum i had i kept coming at him, driving him back toward a tree. He looked tired from blocking all of my blows. "How...?" He said breathlessly as i shoved my boot into his chest. He stumbled backwards and fell on his bum. I put the heel of my foot to his shoulder and pushed him down so that he was lying flat on his back.
He followed the length of my sword, that was now pointed at his neck, to my face with wide eyes. "Number one rule to being a woman: never give away secrets that give the upper hand." I said. Okay there is no rule regarding that, let alone rules regarding anything about being a woman but, it was a good saying to live by. Anthony pushed my sword to the side and stood up. He took a step closer; our faces only inches form each other. I took in a breath, my back was to a tree. I tried to swing around the base of it so that we were no longer in this uncomfortable closeness. But his arm stopped me. At first he gripped my upper arm then slowly loosened his hold, his hand inching up my arm. His touch sent shivers up my spine. What was wrong with me?! I don't even know him. I looked into his eyes, they were boaring into mine.
His hand came to rest at my cheek. His thumb stroking my cheek. I was so scared but so intrigued at the same time. He leaned in closer still holding my gaze with his icy eyes. How could something so cold seem so warm? Now he was so close i could feel his breath running across my lips. Finally i couldn't take it anymore..... or my body couldn't take it anymore. My mind was screaming at me to put my dagger to his throat but my body didn't comply. I pressed my mouth to his and he answered hurriedly. He pressed my back against the tree, wanting to be closer to me. I wrapped my arms around his neck pulling him closer, running my fingers through his straight dark hair. I heard metal clang as Anthony dropped his sword to the ground. Wrapping his arms around my waist. I still held on to my sword though. My eyes shot open. This felt so good but so wrong. I finally gained control of my self and pushed him off. I ran to horse and slid my sword into the sheath. "Rose." Anthony said coming over to me. I didn't give him a chance to say anything else. I kicked my horse and galloped down the road. After about ten minutes of riding non stop and not hearing any extra hooves i slowed down.
I lay my head down on my horses neck and closed my eyes. My lips felt swollen and tingly. What the hell was i thinking. I wasn't even thinking! But it felt so good.... I mentally slapped my self for even thinking that. That was a bad idea and I'm going to make sure it doesn't happen again.
*Anthony's POV*
I watched her race down the rode until she was out site. Sure i wondered why she ran away after that amazing kiss but i shouldn't blame her. She barely knows me and i was sent to follow her so that she wouldn't get to her sister. I was supposed to stall her. At least i kind of did my job. I sat down on the dirt rode and put my head in my hands. What's wrong with me? That was not doing my job. I kissed her for God's sake. I sighed heavily, and now i can't get her out of my head.
I guess i could say i couldn't help my self. She was just so beautiful and captivating. I didn't know that she, let alone a girl, could have so much power and yet still be beautiful. She was amazing. From her technique right down to her beauty. Stop it! I yelled at my self. "Just stop." I muttered. I couldn't let this happen but, God she was so beautiful. Now that i thought about she was the one that kissed me. Then again i was also extemely close to her and i responded. And boy am i glad i did. I don't think she knew but i thought i heard her moan ever so slightly. I breathed in deeply then let it out slowly. I would give anything to kiss her again. I sighed i guess i still had a job to do. I smiled to my self slyly. Maybe i'll get another chance. I picked up my sword off the ground and slid it into it's sheath. I ran my hand over the bark of the tree that we had kissed under. I thought for a moment about carving an 'R' and an 'A' into it. "Nah." i dismissed it and went over to my horse. I started to clear my mind of the kiss. I had to focus on th task given to me. But no matter how hard i tried i couldn't get rid of the feeling of her lips on mine.

OMG NO WAY!!!!!!! THEY KISSED!!!!!!!!!! ASDKF!!!!Sorry for the long wait guys but i had too much going on to get in an update so ya!! And now i shall ask those of you who may or may not have fanned me to create a voer for ths book. Sure the one i have right now is fine but i want one that looks cooler and has like a title and stuff! I would do it my self but i suck with photo shop so if you guys could do it for me that would be friggin awesome!!!!!!! love you guys and hopefully i'll get another update in during the week!
