I looked at them. Their heads were bowed down in shame. But I will not forgive them for what they did. I'll tear them out. How could they even think of doing something like this? I am gonna sue them. Cheryl was looking at me dead in the eyes. Emma and Robbin were trying their best to keep their heads low and avoid any kind of eye contact. I was so angry. Just because of all this I was not able to live that fairytale life with Alissa which I wanted to. I was not able to give her as much love as she deserved. She deserves this whole world and all I did was just push her away.
I walked towards Robin and punched on the side of his face until two hands gripped me by my arms. I yanked it away and started throwing punches at him. I was pulled back by Ethan and Cassandra. Robin's jaw was bruised and his nose was bleeding. Such a satisfaction. I looked at dad and it felt like he was still in shock that his best friend cheated on him, lied to him. He was looking so unpleasant.
"Why you did that?" I asked. They just stared at each other.
"Answer the question goddammit." I yelled.
"Because we wanted money. Our business was going down in flames. It was getting over. Then we thought that Richard is a very good friend of ours, if we trick him he will easily give us the money and whatever we will ask for but Ethan was too quick. He caught us" Robin explained.
I looked at Ethan and he was smiling.
"I saw Cheryl going upstairs. And her so-called cousin as well. I knew that something was not right but when we were doing the decorations of this party I hid some cameras which were connected straight to my phone. So I saw them running away, they cut the fuse of electricity of our house so they could escape but I am too fast. That's how I caught them" Ethan explained his part of the story.
Her so-called cousin was there looking horrified.
"His real name is Robert or....?" I asked.
"No, actually his name is Marcus. He is my.... actually....he is....my husband" Cheryl said.
I felt a sudden type of hatred, disgust and pitiful feeling growing inside of me. How can someone be so low? How? Just think for a moment. I sighed and looked away. Soon our lawyers and cops were there. Some formalities were done and soon they all left with Patrick's. They will be behind the bars.
Now, it was just mom, dad, Ethan, Cassandra and Me.
"See Dad now what. Where is that trust now? I told you before also that you don't have a god damn right to rule my life but you did and see where did it lead to. I, just for you, broke the heart of my girlfriend. But you won't give a shit about it. And you know something now, even if you give this whole company to someone I won't be marrying the person you want me to marry. I will marry the one I love. And that is Alissa Lawrence" I said and left.
Cassandra and Ethan were coming behind.
"Bro wait" Ethan said.
"If you really want to apologise then do something romantic right?" He said and I stopped.
Actually yes he is right. I turned around to see Cassandra and Ethan looking at me waiting for my answer. I nodded.
"Listen Eric I know you are upset with Mom and Dad, but so are we. But just for a moment look at them as normal human being and think that they can also commit mistakes just like any other person. We all commit mistakes but at the end of the day what all matters is how they deal with it and how they solve it and hopefully they will realize it. Just for a moment look at this situation from a different perspective and maybe then you will realize that a second chance can make a whole lot of difference. Just see yourself, you are going to Alissa to apologise, it means you also committed a mistake, right? We all just have to pick ourselves up and shove off the dust and keep going. I hope that you understand" Cassandra said it like she is giving a motivational speech.
She really should become one motivational speaker.
"I understand" I said.
Ethan looked at her like she just said a new physics law something greater than Newton.
"Bro don't overreact" I said and he came back to his normal behaviour.
"Let's get back to the topic I guess" And they nodded.
Ethan thought for a moment and suddenly he got an idea.
"I think this will work well" He said looking at us.
"Shoot" I said.
