*Harrys POV*
I knew Sophie risked telling me where Sky lived but I didn’t want her standing out in this weather where creeps could be lurking around.
I slowly walked up to her door and knocked, I heard footsteps come towards the door and then stop, I knocked again, unsure if she was going to answer. There was a small pause before I heard the handle turn and the door opened before being stopped. Skylar’s face flushed a bright red of embarrassment, I smiled lightly missing her ‘clumsy’ ways. She closed the door again and unlocked the chain, before opening the door again.
“Uh, hi,” she smiled embarrassed.
“Hello,” I smiled back. She stared back at me quietly before offering me to come inside. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, come in. You’re a little early.”
I took a step inside and took in the space of her flat, it was simple yet still nicely decorated. “I like your place,” I grinned with my hands in my pockets.
“Thank you.”
I looked over at her and my jaw nearly dropped when I took in her appearance. I wasn’t sure if she knew me to well and knew we were going to a fancy restaurant or if she had something else in mind, she was always somewhat unpredictable. Something I’ve always loved about Sky.
“Would you like something to drink?” she asked, clearly still nervous and as unsure of what to do as I was.
“No thank you. I uh, booked us a table for 6:15 if you’d like to get there earlier, we can go now?” I was acting like such a nervous wreck.
“Sure, just let me get my bag,” I nodded as she wondered down the hallway and into a room. I looked down and rubbed the back of my neck nervously, looking up quickly when I heard her footsteps wonder back towards the living room.
She lightly smiled up at me and I smiled back, allowing her to exit out the door first before following a safe distance behind her. She locked the door and we walked side by side down to my car, I opened her door for her and she quietly thanked me as she got in and sat there quietly. I got into the driver’s side and backed out of the complex and down the road into the city.
“Sky,” I started unsure if I wanted to start this conversation this early.
“Mmm,” she hummed looking over to me.
“I want to, uh, explain everything that happened. I want to get everything off my chest.”
“And that’s what’s going to happen,” she answered, looking straight at me with a serious expression, “You’re going to explain everything and I’m going to try my best not to intervene.”
“I just want you to know that I didn’t know the hell I was thinking,” I looked over knowing she was biting her tongue to say a smart arse comment.
“Let’s just talk about it when we get there,” she faced the front again and I nodded in agreement.
I soon pulled up at the restaurant, we both got out of the car and walked up to the front desk. “Reservation for Styles.”
“Ah yes, Mr Styles, this way please,” the waiter grabbed two menu’s and walked us over to a small table near the back. “Would you like to order any drinks?”
“Give us 2 minutes, thank you,” I lightly smiled as we both sat down in our seats.
We sat quietly searching through our menu’s, “I hate how quiet it is,” I heard her mumble, looking at me over the top of her menu.
“Don’t you want to eat before we talk about… y’know that?”
“And what, wait in silence until we’ve finished our meals?” I slowly put down my menu and nodded.
“Alright, we’ll order and I’ll tell you everything.”
“Ok,” she agreed and began to look through her menu again.
We both looked up when the waiter walked over with a pen and notepad in his hands, “Are we ready to order?” he smiled.
“Yes thanks,” I nod with a grin, looking at Sky.
“Uh, I will have the chicken and mango salad with a Malibu and coke, thank you.”
“And for you sir?” he turned to smile at me.
“I will have the steak with garden salad and a corona, thanks,” I handed him back the menu’s and he smiled before walking off.
“From the start,” Sky looked straight at me, leaning forward on the table. I took a deep breath before running my fingers through my thick mane.
“Umm well, the first day they were there, Alana had made it clear that she was going to try something sooner or later, I told her to get out from the moment she got in… but she kept asking me things about you and then telling me that I was only with you to get over her. Which at that time I didn’t believe but every day she kept saying different things and I began to slowly believe her like the fucking idiot I was. So I brought you in on the Friday because I not only wanted to prove her wrong but myself also. I wanted to stay the person I had gone back to when I was with you."
" After the meeting she kissed me, and being the idiot I am, kissed her back for god knows what reason. I have never wanted to take something back in my entire life yet the next week, she would come into my office after meetings and sit on my lap and kiss me… She’d threatened to tell you everything if I didn’t do what she’d asked, that’s why I became distant. I thought, maybe, getting with her would shut her up and she’d leave without saying anything,” having thought this all over for the past few months I knew it was completely stupid and made me a huge arsehole, but saying it aloud in front of Sky just makes it one hundred times more stupid and makes me an even bigger –and I quote- ‘a lying, cheating, dirty pig and a huge fucking arsehole’.
I looked at the broken girl before me, I knew all the wrongs I had done and I was willing to do anything to make them all right to be with her once again. I didn’t deserve her one bit, yet she still chose to sit in front of me and hear what happened.
“Sky, you need to know that those months you were gone I spent thinking about every stupid little thing I did. I also thought about a billion ways to make it up to you, knowing none of them would be enough. I spent the whole time thinking about you and only you.”
I didn’t know I was holding my breath until I let a whimper fall from my mouth, we both looked at each other with glassy eyes. She looked away briefly and wiped a fallen tear away and turned back to me.
“You have no idea how much I wanted to forget the whole thing had even happened, I wanted to go back to normal, but I knew it never would, even now it wouldn’t.”
“No it wouldn’t, because I know I can be a million times better than before, Sky. I can list at least 40 things I love about you. I have never fallen in love with someone so much before and I know I fucked it up. Big time, but I will do anything. Anything to make it all up to you no matter how long it takes.”
She lightly smiled and wiped away another tear, before she looked back up and took a deep breath, “I was so hurt by what you did Harry, I wanted to know what happened but I also wanted to walk away and never look back. The day I walked away from you and heard you call my name, it hurt a whole lot more. I wanted to get out of the car, I knew how broken you were, but I was broken too. I needed to heal before I could help heal someone else.”
“But it isn’t you who needs to help, Sky, it’s me that should of stood my ground an pushed that skank as far away as possible. I literally threw away a rare diamond to pick up a shitty, old, demented rock,” she looked up at me as if she wanted to say something but she wasn’t sure whether to say it.
“Say it. What’s on your mind.”
“Later,” she replied, looking up at the waiter as he brought our drinks over.
“Your food should be out in 10 minutes,” he smiled again looking between the two of us.
“Thank you,” I dismissed him.
She took a sip of her drink and I took a deep breath, “Can we just, I don’t know. Not start over but… maybe be two people who have a past we are willing to keep in the past and move forward and become close again?” I asked hopefully. She just stayed quiet, looking straight at me with soft eyes, she opened her mouth but quickly shut it and nodded.
“I just want to know that I can trust you again.”
“Sky, I’m sitting here right now, promising everything and anything without trying to sound desperate. Just please all I’m asking is a little forgiveness and to maybe even leave this place tonight knowing we’re at least friends with each other. Maybe even a chance to catch up again,” I practically begged.
“Harry, I’m sorry I can’t just flip a switch and be best buddies with you.”
“Why? It happened with Tristan, didn’t it?” I asked a little harshly.
“You leave him out of this,” she spat back.
“Well it’s pretty hard to do so when I’m pretty fucking jealous of the fact that he gets to spend every waking moment with you,” I admitted, sitting back in my seat, leaving both myself and Skylar without any words to say.
~
It was silent all throughout our meals, all you could hear was the clanking of cutlery, and slightly loud sighing between the two of us. I paid the bill once we were finished and I stood up from my seat, walking out of the restaurant and towards my car, safely followed by Skylar.
If dinner wasn’t quiet enough, we didn’t speak the whole way back to her place either, I walked her back up to her apartment door. “Thank you for tonight, Harry,” she mumbled not bothering to meet my gaze.
“It seems every time we go to sort stuff out it doesn’t work,” I mentioned.
“Maybe because we keep talking about the same things,” she looked up.
“Because you don’t talk to me Skylar. You wanted to know what happened, and I told you. You wanted time to think, and I gave you the time to think. I feel as if I’m banging my head against a god damned brick wall. Don’t you understand I fucking love you and I’d rather break every bone in my body than let you slip away from me?”
“Don’t you understand I have other things on my mind than trying to sort out a love life, Harry?” I stared at her in disbelieve.
“Tristan,” my face turned into a disgusted smirk, “You know, I thought the lad was alright, but since you two enjoy each other’s company, I guess I’ll just leave you two alone,” I nodded and began walking off.
“Harry!” she called grabbing my arm trying to stop me.
I pulled my arm from her hold, “No, don’t. I hope you feel you made the right decision in the long run, sweetheart,” I spat and walked off down the stairs, away from the girl who just completely shattered me.

Well, I have to admit I enjoyed writing this chapter. I know how much you all want them back together but it isn’t a proper love story without all the drama to go along with it.
I apologise for any speeling errors as well.
I hope you liked this chapter though, and I’m sorry I didn’t update sooner, I’ve been a little occupied with things the past few days, but I should have another chapter up by the middle or near the end of the week, and hopefully it’s long too.
