Tossing and turning, curling into a ball. Jameson is in another nightmare, that's the only explanation. How do I wake him up?
I start by gently shaking his shoulders. Nothing happens other than a silent whimper. I could shock him, but I don't think that's...right. I try a few more things before just sitting up in bed, waiting for him to wake now.
A few minutes later, his eyes shoot open. He starts panting heavily, shaking and tearing up. I immediately spring into action by pulling him close to me, whispering a few comforting words. His hands are curled into fists as he tightly holds onto the front of my shirt.
I should really ask what happened, but I think that might make it worse at the moment. So I stay quiet, occasionally whispering words like 'it's okay' and 'I'm here for you', which really isn't like me at all, but I have to be there for Jamie.
He eventually falls back asleep, but I stay up to watch over him. His hair is a complete mess, and it's covering half his face, so I decide to quickly fix it. He stirs, but nothing else really happens.
What was that nightmare even about to make him that upset?
