Rides up the throat
Clutching the strings on my neck,
Whispering pain takes over
Shuffling my thoughts
Racking my brain
Numbing my emotions
The promises are futile
And delusional are the efforts
Laying back, in quiet
I feel the strings twisted
The devil inside my head
Helps with my solitude
He has devoured my soul
And shall devour me next
The heart beats,
But the heart beats are lost
