So, I got inspired and decided to make a fluffy oneshot where Hiccstrid watches Avengers: Endgame. They're engaged here, about 22-23! Enjoy!

"So what are you expecting?" Hiccup asks as he and Astrid walk hand in hand towards the food bar in the theater. She shrugged.
"I'm just excited" Astrid answered, smiling happily at him. He chuckled and smiled back at her.
"What flavor popcorn do you want, m'lady?" He asks and places his arm over her shoulders while they both look at the different popcorn.
"Butter, cheese, barbecue, sour cream, strawberry cheesecake?!" She says in disbelief and squints closer at the sign. They both raise an eyebrow at each other and grin.
"Strawberry cheesecake, the weird flavor, it is!" Hiccup announces and walks over to the counter. Astrid chuckled lightly and follows him, holding the tickets in her hands.
"One jumbo strawberry cheesecake popcorn and two medium cokes, please" He orders and looks back behind him at me.
"Gods, if all the characters that faded away really died, I will be so mad" Astrid tells him, slightly gritting her teeth.
"I just feel bad for Quill. He did ruin everything, but he really is like that. Especially there when Thanos took away Gamora from him" Hiccup says and Astrid nods along.
"Gamora would be pissed at him for doing that though" She adds and grins, making him smirk back at her.
"She would've been there to calm him down though" He says, taking out his wallet and paying for the food.
"Thanks" Hiccup tells the cashier and gives Astrid her coke. She gratefully takes it in her hands and they walk over to the cinema.
"All the relationships here just end badly. All of them are in heartbreak" Astrid points out and opens the door for both of them. She feels a rush of cold air hit her, but remembers she had a jacket on.
"Yeah! Gamora and Peter, Vision and Wanda, Steve and Peggy, Thor and Jane, T'Challa and Nakia, Scott and Hope. Only Tony and Pepper and Hawkeye and Laura are a guarantee" He says softly and nods with her as they walk to their seats.
"Right?" Astrid asks in a soft voice as they climb up a few stairs to their row. They waive at their friends who were already sitting there.
Snotlout and Ruffnut sat together, as well as Heather and Fishlegs and Tuffnut who was with his girlfriend, Rosa.
"Hey!" We both greet as we sit down at our seats and smile at our friends. Everyone smiled back except for Snotlout who was busy doing something. Ruffnut elbows him and he looks up, giving a small smile.
"It's about to start" Hiccup whispers in Astrid's ear as he sees the trailers ending.
"I can see that, genius" She mumbles back and cuddles up next to him, grinning. He rolls his eyes and wraps an arm around her.

As the movie passed and the characters finally got their stuff together, the final battle scene came up. Hiccup felt a tear fall down his cheek as he watched the battle, feeling a flash of nostalgia.
Then, he heard sobs come from his left and turn to see Astrid sobbing softly. His heart melted for his fiancé and he brought her closer to him.
Hiccup smiles at her in both sadness and joy and she smiles back, still crying. She leaned her head on his shoulder and looked back at the movie, more tears flowing down her face. He watched the movie and briefly leaned his head down to press a kiss on her head, comfortingly.

At the end of the movie, Astrid was still crying softly, but this time for a different reason. Instead of it being from nostalgia and happiness, it was sadness and longing.
"Aww, it's okay, Astrid. It'll all be okay" Hiccup comforts and pats her back gently as she calms down. She frowns at Hiccup and wipes away her tears.
"B-b-but h-he died, a-and what ab-about Mo-morgan?" She stuttered out and more tears fell down her face. She took a deep breath and calmed down once more.
"Oh my gods, Astrid, are you crying?" Snotlout asks in disbelief, making the conversation about the movie between everyone else stop to look at her. Both Hiccup and Astrid turn to him and glare, making him put his hands up defensively.
"Woah! Take it easy, Hiccstrid" He says and they roll their eyes at him, turning back to each other.
Hiccup smiles at her and squeezes her hand. She sniffled one last time and smiled back at him, eyes still a little wet with tears.
"Hey, you guys wanna get ice cream?" Heather asked as they all walked out of the cinema. Everyone nodded in agreement and they walked outside to an ice cream shop.
"I mean, how cool was it that Cap used Thor's hammer?! Like he knew how to use it!" Fishlegs gushed, almost jumping up and down.
"So cool. In Age of Ultron, he almost lifted it, but here he full on summoned lighting!" Hiccup agreed.
"And fat Thor! Oh my gods, that was the best!" Tuffnut added, making us all laugh in remembrance.
"His beer belly and cheez wiz coursing through his veins!" Ruffnut guffawed, clutching her stomach in laughter.
"Oh, the time travel! With Ant-man turning into a baby!" Astrid said and laughed loudly as they went through the door.
"The way they explained time travel was so good though! It makes more sense!" Heather told them, getting nods of agreement.
"I still don't get it" Tuffnut butts in, making his girlfriend groan playfully.
"It's like a loop! The line is the life! I explained this over 10 times to you, babe!" Rosa complained, making us laugh at her frustration. Tuffnut shrugged and she rolled her eyes, smiling at him.
"I'll get the ice cream" Hiccup said and everyone thanked him before he went over to the counter.
"Poor Morgan and Pepper" Ruffnut said and frowned. Astrid's mood dropped and she felt her eyes glaze with tears again.
"And Star-Lord. He lost Gamora and then found her and then maybe lost her again or found her but she doesn't wanna be with him" Snotlout said, making everyone look at him in surprise.
"What? I have emotions!" He exclaimed defensively, making everyone chuckle at him.
"And Natasha. She was always there, you know? We could always count on her to be that cool badass girl" Astrid told them, sighing softly at the end.
"Also Iron Man, he was always there too. Odin, remember when Spiderman was calling out his name? 'Mr. Stark!' and he was dying! Oh, my heart!" Fishlegs said, making everyone frown in sadness and smile a little at how beautiful the scene was.
"But remember Rocket? Gods, I love him. He was the last Guardian and he was so vulnerable in Volume 2! And he's so funny!" Heather gushed and smiled, making everyone laugh in agreement.
"Okay! Heather, Fish, there's yours. Rosa, Tuff, these two. Ruff and Snot, here. And last, m'lady, your ice cream" Hiccup interrupted and placed down a tray. Everyone said a thank you to him and then continued with their banter as he sat down beside his fiancé.
"You're welcome" Hiccup said grinning and placed his hand on top of Astrid's, making her grin. His thumb gently rubbed across her engagement ring, a smile spreading on his face.
"Thanks, babe" Astrid smiled and kissed him on the cheek before digging in to her ice cream. He chuckled lightly and they both turned back to the conversation.

That night, Astrid stared at the ceiling of her and Hiccup's room, thinking of the movie again. She frowned a little in remembrance of the sad parts and then smiled at the funny ones. She was happy that there was closure, but she would really miss the characters.
"Hey" Hiccup said, making her turn to see him leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed and a smile on his face.
"What're you thinking about?" He asked as Astrid moved to make space for him on the bed. She shrugged and looked back at him.
"Just the movie again. So, get your butt over here, Haddock" She told him and grinned as he laughed softly and walked over to her.
"Yes, ma'm" He replied and lied down beside her, draping an arm around her waist. She sighed happily and snuggled into his chest.
"You know you're gonna be a Haddock too right?" He asked, making her chuckle softly and nod.
"Obviously. And I'm excited for it" Astrid mumbled softly and closed her eyes. Hiccup smiled and gently pressed a kiss on the top of her head.
"Sleep well, Hofferson" He whispers, closing his eyes to sleep. "Hofferson-Haddock" She corrects, making him grin again. Just when she was falling asleep, he said something to make her wake up.
"I love you 3000" Hiccup whispers lovingly at her, a knowing smirk on his face. Astrid immediately opens her eyes and feels a rush of sadness over come her.
"Hiccup, shut up!" She whined and looked up at him, a tear falling down her face. He laughed softly and pouted, pulling her closer.
"Awww. Hiccup is sorry. I'm sorry, Asty" He cooed like a baby and rocked her back in forth in his arms. She laughed softly at him and sniffed, the tears stopping.
"Go to sleep, babe" She chuckled out and smiled at him as they stopped rocking. He grinned and closed his eyes, leaning his head on hers.
Astrid sighed in content of the feeling of his arms wrapped around her and closed her eyes again. She moved her hand to rest on his chest, feeling his steady heart beat and slowly fall asleep.
A movie that can make you so sad and happy at the same time and messes with your feelings always stays on your mind. Like, Avengers: Endgame. But for Astrid, she had something, or someone, else that just took up all her thoughts.
