Xiumin POV
"Ling...Ling.. please wake up..." I repeated those words for the umpteenth time. I stared at her angelic face, her body moving up and down slowly as she breathes slowly. Ling had been out for ten minutes and everyone was getting worried. Baekhyun came and had a really bothered look on his face.
We couldn't go to the hospital because of the huge amount of fans outside. They were crowding around the whole area, chanting for Ling to come out. I sighed. Those fans were really shameless, treating us as their property. Suho tried calling his personal doctor but to no avail.
Soon, there was a knock on our door and Soo Zee entered. "Kay guys we have a schedule- Who the hell is that girl?!" She thundered, pointing to Ling.
"Erm.. she's our friend?" Suho replied.
"I don't believe you. Hey she looks like that fan that came backstage! But never mind. Throw her out of here!" She shrieked, her shrill voice exploding our ears.
"She's really our friend! And she needs medical attention right now!" Baekhyun and I chorused.
Soo Zee stared at us, bewildered at our reaction. Her fingers shook as she stuttered, "Y-You w-would get it from me! B-But I'll t-treat her as a person f-for now. Follow m-me."
She stormed out and I ran to the room, picking up Ling bridal style. Her body was already cold to the touch. I placed a jacket over her and rushed out, following Soo Zee. Baekhyun stared at me with jealousy.
Everyone followed her as we were led to the back door. There was already a van waiting for us. I went in following the others. The van sped to the hospital immediately.
I could feel Soo Zee's cold stares shooting at me but I could not care. Ling was in a risky situation right now. Once we were inside the hospital, doctors rushed to us and asked, "Who's the patient? We would try our best to save him."
Soo Zee corrected, "It's a her. That girl has been out for 20 minutes at least."
Nurses kept oogling at us and I glared at them. The doctors nodded and soon a stretcher was in front of us. They pushed her into the operating theatre and we stood outside, anxiously waiting for the operation to end.
Soo Zee motioned everyone to come to her. She whispered angrily, "I can't believe you are giving a fan the special treatment. If this news goes up to the chairman, my job would have failed! After she comes out, all of you must leave. No visiting allowed. I don't want a scandal to surface again. Got it?"
Everyone shook their heads in unison and Suho said, "She's our friend. And we are never leaving her alone. She might be a fan. But she proved to be a better friend."
"She's a great noona! I love my noona! Yehet!" -Sehun
"She's a really kind person and I don't mind having a friend like her. She's a happy virus too, like me." -Chanyeol
"She's a good mei-mei." -Tao
"Dont forget her English. It's totally my style." -Kris
Baekhyun and I kept quiet. My palms were sweaty as I prayed for the surgery to be successful.
Soo Zee was lost for words and stormed out on us. Everyone was silent. After a few hours, the doctor came out.
He announced, "Good thing you brought her here earlier. If not her life would have been in danger. Congratulations, the surgery is a success! She just needs ample rest. You all can see her now."
I heaved a sigh of relief. She's okay. I'm glad. I rushed to the room Ling was resting in. The moment I opened the door, I saw Ling resting on a comfy bed with a bandage on her head. There was also some tubes connected to her wrist and arm. Her eyes were shut tight and her face looked so peaceful. She looked so beautiful. Am I starting to like you, Ling? I shook all those thoughts off as we waited patiently for her to wake up.
It had been hours and some of us had already fallen asleep. It was 9am and we were sleep deprived.
Hours later..
"Mm.. Ugh... my head hurts.." Ling stirred in her sleep and finally her eyes fluttered open. Everyone crowded around her and said in unison, "Are you alright?"
Ling giggled at our sight. She nodded her head slightly and muttered, "I'm fine guys. By the way, where am I and what happened?"
Ling's POV
I was in a room, playing with Yun Xi, my dear sister. She was tickling me with a teddy bear and carrying me like I was in an airplane. I was having so much fun until Mom said I should wait here while she talked to Yun Xi. I nodded and began to play with my toys.
Soon, an heated argument ensued outside. I secretly opened the door and peeked outside, gasping as I watched the scene unfold before me. Yun Xi was shouting, "I am just going to be a idol! It's not a big deal! I'm bringing Ling Ling to stay with me."
Mom retorted, "No, being an idol has its own risks and you can't take it! And I wouldn't allow you to take Ling Ling with you. She's too young and what if they force her to be a trainee? My answer is still a no. Isn't your model job sufficient enough for you?"
Yun Xi screamed, "But I was offered a contract and being an idol has been my dream! My boyfriend is an idol too! I can join him if I'm an idol too."
Mom said angrily, "You are so foolish! Even if your boyfriend is an idol, it doesn't mean you have to be too!"
My eyes widened as I saw Yun Xi run outside. Not wanting to leave my sister alone, I swiftly dashed out only to see her going to be hit by a car.
On instinct, I immediately ran and pushed my sister away, taking the impact myself. I flew far away. Screams and shouts were heard as I lay on the rough road, blood trickling down my forehead. Soon, darkness engulfed me.
"Mm.. Ugh... My head hurts..." I groaned and finally woke up. I was in a different room and the smell of disinfectant clouded my nose. Suddenly, 12 gorgeous guys crowded around me. I rubbed my eyes and realised they were my 12 lovely friends. They asked in unison, "Are you alright?"
I giggled at their sight, nodding my head slightly. I questioned, "I'm fine guys. By the way, where am I and what happened?"
Xiumin spoke up first, "You are in the hospital right now. You were out for 20 minutes and we couldn't bring you to the hospital immediately because there were fans crowding the front entrance of our dorm. But luckily Soo Zee, our manager showed us a way out. You went through a surgery."
I cringed at the sound of word surgery. It felt like I had it before. Anyways what's that dream about? Why am I in such a weird dream that felt so real?
"Ling? Ling? Are you okay?" Baekhyun waved a hand in front of me. I snapped out of my trance and nodded my head, smiling.
Suddenly, everyone hugged me. Surprised, I stayed there as everyone squeezed me. I whispered, "G-Guys, I can't b-breathe."
They immediately released. I let out a huff. "That's better. Thanks guys. I didn't know how I could have 12 amazing friends." I said, tears streaming down my cheeks.
They were shocked at my reaction and Baekhyun immediately rushed over to hug me, patting my back. I placed my head in his shoulder as more tears streamed down, "I can't thank you guys enough. You guys are the best."
"Ah I'm so sorry for making all of you worried." I sat up, rubbing my tears away.
"it's okay Ling. At least you are okay now. I'm glad." Suho replied.
"Ling, we can't bear to lose such a nice friend like you" Chanyeol said, with a big smile.
Baekhyun who was beside me gave me a slight smile with his cute eye smile. I smiled back and waited until the doctor and nurses came in. The doctor examined me one more time and said, "She needs ample rest at home. She can't move around much for 3 weeks at least. Come back for the removal of the bandage in a month."
I widened my eyes. 3 weeks without school? What about Naeun? She must be worried sick right now!
Speaking of the devil, Naeun burst into the room and screamed, "Ling! Oh my God are you alright?"
I giggled, "Yes unnie! I'm perfectly alright."
The doctor said, "Erm are you her sister?"
Naeun nodded subconsciously.
The doctor explained again, "She needs to rest until her head is fully recovered. So at least 3 weeks of rest with minimal movement until she is fully recovered."
Naeun's jaw dropped. When the doctor and nurses left, Naeun apologetically said, "Erm.. I have to work every day until really late at night. I don't think I can take care of you."
"Dont worry. We are quite free this week but I'm worried for the next few weeks, we are preparing for our next comeback." Suho replied.
I smiled reassuringly at everyone, "I can take care of myself guys. I don't need you all to worry so much about me."
Naeun and my friends yelled in unison, "NO!"
"Okay guys. Chill. But I don't want to bother you guys." I pouted.
However, no one responded and they were so into their discussion.
Ugh.. No one is listening to me. I sighed. I sat and thought about the dream I had. It felt so real. It felt like I had experienced it before. And why did I dream of my sister? What was that? Was Yun Xi really alive?
Someone snapped their fingers, pulling me out of my trance. I looked up to see Naeun beaming. She announced, "Okay. I have decided that you would stay with the boys! There would be at least one member at home each time to take care of you. During weekends, everyone would be here to take care of you."
I questioned, "What about the next few weeks?"
They hesitated but Suho said, "Our manager, Soo Zee, would take care of you."
