Would/ You/ Rather

where it began

11 years ago ,an eight year old girl young and innocent, knew nothing about the dangers of the world. The worst thing that could possibly happen in her world was losing the head of her doll or not wearing the best shoes to school. But, that illusion stopped on the day that sweet ,darling Leilani Richards came from the movies with her father, walking towards their car with a smile that could light up a room and not knowing that they just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"BANG" the sound went, causing leilani to jump.
"BANG" it went again sending her into a state of shock and confusion, sending sparks into the air. Before she could wrap her mind around what was happening a sharp flash passed right by her, before she could move.
"DAD!" She screamed as she saw the tall figure of her father coming down on her small body, she layed there in the middle of the street with a face of fear and confusion in her big brown eyes and her father on her lap, trembling with fear. He held on to her hand so tight that if he squeezed any harder he might crush her tiny fingers. He slowly stroked her cheek leaving smears of his warm ,thick blood on her face.
"Lei, listen to me." He fought using all his strength.
"Tell your mom and your sister i love them and i wish i could..." he couldn't go on he didn't have the strenght.
"Dad, please." She pleaded.
Knowing the little time he had left he could only say a few words.
"I love you so much" he said barley louder than a whisper. After what felt like an eternity of silence.
"I'm sorry." He exhaled his last words.
The stroking stopped but she didnt notice, she didn't notice the small drops of tears falling from her eyes but she knew exactly what had happened, she knew he would never hear the I love you too from her. She burried her face as the tiny drops of tears flooded down her cheeks into the motionless, lifeless body of the only man she ever loved or called dad.
