The feeling of a strong, heavy object wrapped around my torso awakes me.
How do I always end up in this situation, especially with Ajax ?
I really need to start focusing on my family and the Club, boys are a distraction... especially this one.
" Morning Darlin' " The sound of his raspy morning voice is almost enough to make me forget everything I just mentioned.
" Morning Aj. " I groan, getting out of bed.
The smell of coffee and pancakes has now taken over my senses, thank the lord for Kali.
Within seconds I'm down the stairs greeting one of my best friends.
" Morning bitch. " I take a seat at my kitchen island.
" So about last night. " Great here we go.
" Forget about it Kali, it was a mistake. " the taste of coffee on my lips slowly waking me up.
" No, it wasn't and soon you'll realise that, but for now we have other thing's to discuss. " She copies my actions and takes her mug to her lips.
" I'm so nervous. " I sigh out.
" Don't be, you've got this. " I can tell Kali is still a little upset over the fact there is a chance I'll be a patched club member before her, I respect the fact she's willing to see the bigger picture.
The ride to the club house was rather painful, considering Ajax and Kali had to drive with me didn't help my morning at all.
" I've got church, see you both soon. " Ajax is the first to climb out of the car.
The feeling of my phone vibrating in my pocket signals for Kali to climb out next.
Reaching into my jacket pocket, I answer my phone without checking the I.D.
" Oh my god Indi, I've been trying to call for days. " My mother's voice cries into the phone.
" You can quit the act, I got your letter. " I huff.
" This isn't an act, I miss you. " God can she get any more annoying.
" Look I have a busy day with my father and brother, so if you don't mind, I gotta go. " I mention my family knowing it will hurt her.
" Brother ?, What are you on about ?. "
" I have a brother. " With this I hang up the phone, I genuinely don't have time for her today.
The memories from last night keep replaying on my mind, I can't believe I almost had sex with Ajax.
Why do I like this thought so much ? I can't feel this way for him, not yet. It's too soon.
" It's been an hour, what is going on in there. " Kali sighs offering me some food from her plate.
Apparently Tara refused to let Hannah and Tico waste food from the wedding, insisting that they'd get eaten by a bunch of hungover bikers, so far she's been proven right.
I honestly don't blame her either, these snacks are amazing.
Suddenly my name is called out by Dylan, signalling for me to enter the church.
Here we go.
" Indigo, come stand beside me please. " My father puts his hand out.
I follow his orders and take his hand before standing to the left of him.
" The club have voted. " I try and read the members faces, but nothing is a give away on what is about to happen.
" Today, in front of the whole of The Devil's Renegades, we will be welcoming our first ever patched female member.
Welcome to Hell, Sweetheart. " My Father announces.
Cheers fill the room as the men welcome me in open arms.
" This is an honour and I promise, you won't regret this. I may be a woman in the eyes of the lord but when I wear the club colours, mistake me not as I am and will be a Renegade, a son to the devil. " Within seconds, the cheers take over again as I'm thrown into the middle of the men.
" Indigo, will you sit alongside Tico on my right please. " I watch as Dylan moves down a seat.
But the looks of it, they've really planned out the rearmament of seating.
I give Dylan a hug before taking the seat which he once occupied.
I'm directly across from T-bone, Ajax being at the right of him. The other charters stand behind us, the founding charter with respect.
The feeling I've gotten just from sitting alongside these men is truely empowering, I can only imagine how I'll feel when I'm gifted my colours.
" Before we can move on to the next order of business, we need to discuss when Indigo will receive her cut. " My father speaks up, once again.
" How about when Tico and Hannah get back, I'm in no rush. " I speak up.
" Would you men wanna come back for it ?. " This time its Ajax.
A series of yes' takes over again. According to them, the first patched woman is a big deal in history and they'd need to witness it.
" Tico, when do you get back ? "
" Two weeks from today, we are heading to Europe. " Tico speaks up, putting his hand on my shoulder in a way of reassurance.
" In two weeks, you men ride back here for Indigo's patching, we will throw a party and you can stay at the club house. " Marvin calls out.
Ten minutes later and church is over.
The other charters are heading home today, so we are currently saying our goodbyes in the lot of the clubhouse.
" Goodbye our Princess. " The presidents of the other charters farewell me.
" Ride safe boys. " I give them all a hug before walking towards my father.
" That Prospect from the Texas charter keeps looking at you. " He chuckles.
" Too bad I don't date, he's kinda cute. " I tease my father.
" Get that idea out of your head, my princess only dates patched members, more precisely my V.P. " He winks.
Did my father just say he want's me with Ajax ?
" That's not going to happen Father, sorry. "
" Oh really ? Lets see what Reaper has to say about this prospect then. " Reaper ? Who's Reaper.
" REAPER, over here !. " My father whistles.
Ajax ? Ajax is Reaper ? Oh god.
" Yeah Pres ?. " Ajax takes a sip of his beer.
" You see that prospect over there ? " My father nods in the direction of the guy who's about to meet his doom.
" The Texas one ?. "
" He keeps giving Indi the 'look'. " It's as if a fire had gone off in Ajax.
" Can I say something ?!. " He asks through gritted teeth.
" Go ahead, I'll go explain it to his Pres. " Who knew my father was Satan.
My father walks off in the direction of the Texas Charter's president, Allan.
" Ajax, don't. " I grab his arm in an attempt to calm him.
" Give me one good reason on why I shouldn't rip his head off. " He spits.
" He was only looking for God sake. " I yell.
" He was looking at something thats mine. " Before I can stop him, he's practically sprinting to the poor prospect.
He'll be fine right ? I mean surely the prospect is use to this kind of thing ? Right ?
I watch as the club presidents all watch Ajax and the prospect.
" What the hell is going on ? " Kali runs over to me.
" IM IN ! But we have a bigger issue."
" I knew you could do it!, Whats the problem ?. "
" MY father encouraged your brother to rip that prospect to shreds. "
" Oh no, did he give you the look ?. " WHAT IS THIS LOOK ?
" What look ?. "
" Prospects tends to over step their boundaries and give club ladies the look, the one where they want to either fuck you or make you their old lady. Either one isn't good. " She chuckles. What's so amusing about this ?
" Just watch the show you worry wart. " She elbows me.
I watch as Ajax grabs the prospect by his cut, holding him up against the wall.
The faint words of " Who said you can look at my lady ?. " Can be heard.
His lady ? I don't think so.
Within seconds Ajax is hitting him, the other members cheering him on.
The sad reality of being a prospect is that they can do anything they want to you and ain't nobody gonna help.
I can't take watching this anymore, it's as if all the anger I've been bottling up from my mothers phone calls escapes me.
I charge over to the scene ripping Ajax from the prospect before laying a hit into his beautiful face. Did I just say beautiful ?
A mixture of shocked sounds fill my ears as I'm hitting the asshole.
I turn around to help the prospect up, leading him back inside the club house to clean his fresh wounds.
" Thank you. " He looks down. I can tell his embarrassed by the fact he was saved by a girl.
" If it helps, I'm practically a man. " I say in hopes to lighten the situation.
" Do you know why he did that ?. " His voice cracks.
" Apparently you gave me the 'look'. " I chuckle.
" So ? What's wrong with the look ?. " Poor guy.
" Well considering you weren't in the meeting, I take it you missed the memo. I'm an offical patched member now, Prospect. You can't look at me or any of the other club women like that until you're fully patched in, even then you need to be careful. " It's as if reality hit him in the face.
" So you're the first patched woman ever ?. " I nod.
" As well as the founding Charter's princess, I'm Marvin's daughter. "
" Decay is your father ?. " I don't know which name is worse, Reaper or Decay.
" Please be careful. " I whisper to him.
" Am I interrupting something ?." My brothers voice fills my ears.
" No brother, just cleaning up Fathers mistakes. " I mutter.
" Your brother is also in the club. " I watch as he visibly looks uncomfortable.
" Yeah, I am. Problem ?. " What is it with the men in my life being over protective assholes.
" No sir. "
" Don't look weak in front of them, it's what they want. " I turn to glare at my brother.
" You should be good to go. " I smile at the prospect.
" Thank you, my name is Jack by the way. " He smiles for the first time tonight.
" I'll walk you out, Jack. "
Before I can follow after him my brother grabs my arm.
" Do you know what you're doing, little sister ?. " He whispers.
" Helping an innocent guy out, big bro. " I spit.
" Be careful, for his sake. " He lets go.
" Hey Jack, wait up!. " I call after the prospect.
" Thanks again for everything, princess. " He smiles.
" I really need a new road name. " I chuckle, as he does moments after.

" That makes one of us. Anyways, please ride safe and for the love of god watch where those eyes land or at least be more sly about it. "
" I'll keep that in mind, take care Indi. " I grab him by his shoulder pulling him in for a hug, I can tell he needs it after the day he's had.

The sound of dozens of motorcycles roar to life as we bid our farewells to our sibling charters.
" What the hell was that. " I turn around to be faced with Ajax, Kali, Chase, Dylan, T-bone and my father.
Thankfully Hannah and Tico decided to start their trip a day early and didn't have to witness this crap the day after their wedding.
" That was me sticking up for someone who needed it. " I mutter.
" Don't pull that crap again. " My father speaks up. Ouch.
" What crap ? You let your V.P fight a prospect OUTSIDE of a ring, may I add. " I raise my voice.
" He was doing what was right. " He yes again, defends Ajax's actions.
I honestly don't know which one is worse.
" Kali why are you standing with them ? Who's side are you on ?. " I can't help but mention the fact she's against me right now.
" You're a patched member now Indi, you can't go saving random prospects who have no respect for your title. " She shrugs.
" He had no idea who I was. " I cross my arms.
" Bullshit, he knew exactly who you were. You look just like your father for god sake." T-bone speaks up.
My best friend is defending this ? Maybe joining the club was a bad idea, clearly I'm just going to be belittled by men.
" Awfully quiet back there Reaper. " I spit, using his road name.
" What did you just call me ?. " Anger clear in his tone.
" Can you all give us a moment, please. " I watch as everyone leaves us to our argument.
" Stop treating me like a child. " I look up at Ajax.
" Stop acting like one. " He bites back.
" Whatever you say, Reaper. "
" Don't call me that, ever. " He fills the gap between us, looking down at me.
" That's your name, isn't it ? I mean that is the person I seen today bashing Jack. "
" Oh so now you two are on a first name basis, huh ?. " I just nod.
" Here's what's gonna happen. You're going to stop being a child, own up to your title and start respecting me. " Is he serious ?
" No Ajax, I only respect those who respect me. "
" What is it with you ?. Why must you always undermine me ?. " This question leaves me shocked, is this what he thinks I'm doing ?.

" Yes you do and while we are at it, Why do you lead me on ?. One minute we are flirting and you're letting me in and the next you're shutting me out. " He pulls at his hair.
" What is it with you being an overprotective ass ?. " I fire back.
" Don't change the subject Darlin'. Why won't you be with me ?. "
" Because Ajax, if I let you in, you'll see me. "
" That makes no sense Indi, I need more than ' you'll see me. ' "
" Fine, I don't like letting people in. In case you haven't noticed, people tend to get hurt around me. I can't hurt you, you're apart of my father's club, if you're hurt, they're hurt. I couldn't do that to you or them. You're my family, the only family I have. If we were to ever get together, it can't be now. I need to learn how to find myself first. I'm a mess Ajax, I can't drag you into that. In case you've forgotten, my last 2 relationships haven't been the best, one ex is an obsessive asshole who is still in love with me and the other cheated on me with one of my girls. I don't have the best history. " I sigh.
" Us being together won't hurt the club, they want it more than anyone Darlin'. Your exe's can't control your life forever, they were two mistakes which you've grown from and as for finding yourself, please baby, let me help. Please, you've changed me. Before you came along I, too was a mess.. A Reaper. Let me do the same for you. " I watch as a tear rolls down his cheek.
" Ajax, that's the thing.. One of my exe's is still controlling my life, he won't stop and I personally can't drag you into that.
I would hate myself. Let me find myself first, let me grow in the club first. Next time we find ourselves alone together, we can discuss this, I won't push away. But for now, I need you to let me grow. " I grab his hand.
" Promise me something Darlin' ?. "
" Anything. "
" When you find yourself, pick me. "

Thankful for the fact he didn't mention Andre, I start to walk towards my car.
" Darlin' ?. "Crap
" Yes Ajax ?. "
" Is it Andre ? The ex who's still in your life ?. " I was so close.
" Yes. " I look down before getting in my car to head to work.
I watch Ajax run inside through my review mirror. Crap, here we go.
