Jonah sat there against with his head in his hands
It was hard for him to process everything that had just happened the night before
He had been awake all night just thinking about it
Jonah's P.O.V.
I had the night all set up.
We were gonna go see a movie and then we were gonna go to a nice dinner. After that we were going to go to the beach and lay on a towel and watch the night skies while listening to the waves of the ocean.
It was going to be perfect.
I quickly finished dressing, finishing up my outfit with a black blazer that was buttoned from the middle button down.
My outfit consisted of black pants, a classy white shirt, my blazer, and some nice clean vans.
I walked to my car and swiftly sat down, careful not to crease my shirt or blazer
I drove to her house and parked my car.
I knocked on her door to see her father open it.
"Hello sir, I'm jonah. I'm your daughters date for tonight" I said as I extended my hand just as I practiced
"I know who you are" he shook my hand and let me inside. "She's finishing up"
And then I was left there standing in the center of her living room. We had been dating for a few weeks now but I was still just as awkward with her parents as i was when we first started dating.
I heard her coming down the stairs and I turned towards her. There she stood.
She had her iconic short skirt on along with her checkered vans. Her long tan legs supporting her slim figure. She carried her most expensive purse on her shoulder as she looked at me.
"Are we gonna go or what?" She asked. She seemed a little annoyed.
I decided to brush it off and continue the night as planned
We arrived at the movies and it went terrific.
We shared popcorn and held hands. We even took pictures afterwards. She never likes to take pics with me but she did tonight.
We then went to dinner and it was lovely.
We enjoyed our meal but didn't talk much. After that we walked to the beach
On the way her phone went off.
She let go of my hand and quickly replied back to the text.
"Who was that?" I asked curiously
"Nobody. Don't you ever mind your business?!" She almost yelled before stuffing her phone in her purse.
"Sorry. I was just wondering"
"Well don't. You don't rule me." She snapped
"Okay. I'm sorry" I looked down
She didn't say anything else
We just walked in silence as we headed towards the beach.
"Here it is. Do you like it?" I asked cheerfully
"Yep. Looks beautiful" she smiled
We sat down and watched the waves as the final bit of sunlight crept behind the sea and hid.
Then we laid back and watched the stars, that is until her phone went off and she instantly opened the message.
I watched her
She was smiling
And blushing
She's never typed so fast before
She always responds late to me
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'll be right back" she said before quickly getting up and walking off.
I watched in confusion
Then I noticed her phone laying in front of me
I'm not nosy
I'm not gonna open her phone
Then suddenly it dinged

I didn't know what to do but before I was even thinking, I was reading the text.

I'm here by the bathroom. We've gotta make this quick if you don't want your boyfriend to know😉
What the...
I laid her phone back down and sat in my seat debating on what to do
Then she came back 15 minutes later.
"Hey" she smiled
"Hey..." I looked at her. "Have fun?"
"...what do you mean?" She asked looking at me
"I'm guessing that your friend with benefits really wanted to see you if they had to interrupt our date" I told her and pointed at her phone
She then looked at the screen and her face went pale
"Jo..." she started but I stopped her
"He must've been really fast then huh. Because you were only gone, what, ten- fifteen minutes? Wow. New record. He must've really needed you"
"Jonah stop." She said
"Why? Why should I? Is it bothering you? Well how do you think I feel knowing that I'm on a date with my girlfriend while another guy goes and has sex with her?"
"Jonah please"
"No. I'm done. You can ask your buddy to drive you home because I sure as hell am not. Hope you have a great life. Have fun with whoever the hell that guy is. Goodbye." And with that I walked away...
I wish I could redo whatever happened that night. I should've let her explain. But then again she shouldn't have done that.
I wish I could find someone that wants me
Someone who'll stay with me instead of hurting me
Someone who will love me as much as I love them
But I guess that's the thing about the world, it isn't always a happy ending
Sometimes you'll give someone your all and then you'll end up with nothing left but the pain.
