ADELINE'S POV
"We're going home?" I grinned, hugging Ronnie- who'd just told me that after Portland, we were heading home!
"Uh... yeah," he loosely returned the hug. I pulled away, concerned.
"What's the matter?" I asked, cupping his face as we sat on his bed.
"I don't... I don't wanna be away from you. I would ask you to move in with us, but I don't want you to have to leave your dad," he told me sadly. I frowned- that thought never occurred to me. When would we see each other again?
"I... I don't wanna go home," I murmured. He pulled me into his arms, and we laid down together.
"Let's just enjoy the time we have together. We'll get it all figured out," he whispered. I nodded, and let my tears flow silently.
"Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!" everyone chanted as I downed a single bottle of watermelon Smirnoff. I set the empty bottle on the counter, and started to feel very good.
It was 6 pm, and we were on our way to Portland. Ronnie and I had finished the song, and had given the other guys of FIR the corresponding instrumental pieces. Annnddd we were all getting drunk to take our minds off of the impending seperation.
"I'm definitely feeling it," I chuckled after downing the third bottle.
"Me, too," Ronnie stumbled into me.
"Look! I'm a lamp!" Ryan guffawed. We turned to look at him- he had a lampshade on his head, and a flashlight shining up into his face.
"No- you're an idiot!" I laughed as he tripped and fell face first onto the floor. "Hee hee. You tripped," I giggled.
"I'm bored!" Jacky yelled, flopping down on the couch.
"Sucks to be you," Ronnie smirked, grabbing a bottle of Jaeger from the cabinet. I snatched it from his hands and took a swig.
"Hey! Give me that!" he laughed, reaching for it. I backed away out of his reach, and took off. I ran around the living room, and into the bunk areas. I lunged up onto the top one, surprising myself. I curled up against the back wall of it, and hoped he wouldn't find me. "Gotcha!" he called as he popped up over the edge. I shrieked, and accidentally whacked myelf in the head with the green glass bottle.
"It's mine! Finders keepers!" I yelled as he laid on his side next to me. I took another drink, and started to feel... loose, and drowsy. I felt my eyelids droop, and he scooped me up and jumped down, taking me to his bedroom. As we laid down together and passed out, I remember thinking... I was going to miss the fuck out of him.
RONNIE'S POV
"God... It's so early," I grumbled, rolling out of bed, my head throbbing. I chugged down a bottle of water, and went to make some coffee. I looked out the window- it was sunny outside. We were in Portland. Our last show... and then a 14 hour drive home. Let's see... our show is at 4... we're leaving at 8... it was 8:30 right now...
I only had 26 hours left with Adeline. Take out 9 or so for sleeping... and I had only 15 hours with her. It sounds like a lot... but feels like fucking nothing. God, what the fuck are we going to do? I can't leave her. She means too much to me. I don't wanna lose her. I can't ask her to move in, because she can't leave her dad- that wouldn't be right.
What the fuck were we going to do.. damnit!
"R-Ronnie?" Adeline sidled up next to me in the kitchen area, looking worried.
"Yeah? What is it?" I asked, chugging down a mug of coffee and making one for her. I handed it to her, and she sniffled.
"Dad... he's going to lose the house. He-He's being evicted. He doesn't have enough money to pay for the rent anymore- apparently, he hasn't been able to pay for the last 5 months," she told me shakily, her phone in her hand. I hugged her close, and an idea popped up in my head. Our house was huge... we had more than enough room...
"Why don't you guys live with us? We've got plenty of room, trust me, it'll be nothing," I suggested. She looked up at me hopefully.
"Really? You mean it? You would do that... for us?" she whispered. I nodded.
"What else would I do? I'm not going to let you guys live on the street," I shrugged, kissing her forehead.
"I'll go tell him! He's already got most of everything packed up, but not everything yet! Oh, thank you, baby!" she kissed me on the lips, and bounded off back into our room. I smiled to myself- she was so perfect. I swallowed another cup of coffee, and flopped down on top of Jacky on the couch, squishing him into the cushions, getting a groan from him.
"Oh, sorry- didn't see ya there," I smirked, standing up. I sat back down on the sectional, and flipped through channels. "There's nothing on!!!!" I groaned, frustrated. "Damn cable... shit. Netflix, it is, then." I picked up the remote and turned the Netflix app on. As I scrolled through the titles, I settled on Homefront, with Jason Statham. I'd watched it once before, and it was pretty badass.
"Ok- everything's set," Adeline came skipping in, having changed into a cute little dress with light blue, kinda ruffly skirting and a black and blue and pink tribal patterned top part. It was strapless... and about knee-length. And hot as fuck. Her legs were even longer, thanks to the periwinkle (hey, when you have a girlfriend, you start to pick up on the different types of colors, so shut the fuck up) peep toe, fucking 5 inch heels. She had on a pair of light blue wayfarer shades, a cool blue wolf pendant necklace, and a little black leather jacket. (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=135479908)
She looked sexy as fuck, and I wanted her bad. She looked so fucking hot.
"What's the occassion?" I asked jokingly as she stood there, her perfect hip cocked out to the side and her arms crossed- just like when I'd first met her.
"Get dressed- we're gonna go get some food," she smiled, flashing her bright white teeth. I got up and dressed in a black tank top and pink skinny jeans, and my black Vans. I threw on a pair of white wayfarer shades, and my denim sleeveless jacket.
"Let's go," I smiled. We got off the bus, and her heels 'clack'ed against the pavement as we started walking down the sidewalk. It was sunny and bright outside, but it was crisp- the air was cool, and breezy, and sent chills down your spine. Perfect day. We walked and walked, taking in the sights. All the little shops, the quaint (what the fuck kinda word is that, Ronnie?) little stores and retail shops and cafes.
"So what kind of food are we getting?" I asked. "It's only... like, 9 in the morning," I chuckled. She shrugged.
"We... are going to this little cafe," she pulled me into a small, brown and green bricked place that smelled like chocolate and coffee and bacon. We got to the counter, and they gave us a little buzzer square thing. She led me back outside, and we sat on the patio overlooking the quiet streets, bustling with people here and there.
"So what is this place?" I asked curiously.
"I don't know. I saw it on the Google Maps, and it looked interesting, and close. So I decided, why not?" she shrugged, sipping her complimentary water. The buzzer thing vibrated, and she got up and went back inside real quick, her perfect legs and hips driving me insane. If we weren't in public, I'd be fucking her. True story.
She came back out shortly and sat down, handing me a menu as a waiter approached.
"Hi! I'm Jonah, what can I get you two to drink to start off with?" he asked, eyeing Adeline like a piece of fucking meat. I glared at him, and cleared my throat as Adeline opened her mouth to order.
"Yes, this lovely young woman here will have a Dr. Pepper, and I'll have the same," I ordered for her. He looked at her in question, and she nodded politely, adding a 'yes, please'. He looked genuinely disappointed, nodded, and walked off. I scoffed.
"Bastard," I muttered under my breath- Adeline hadn't heard. She took her shades off and skimmed her menu, biting her bottom lip as she tried to decide what to get. I looked at my own menu, and quickly understood her dilemma.
Everything looked fucking amazing. Like, for real. There were chocolate chip pancakes, chicken fried steak with gravy, sausage, bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast burritos.... fucking crepes, whatever the hell those were. There were omelets, and sandwiches, and burgers, and fries... I was fucking drooling!
"Here are your drinks. Can I get you anything else?" Jonah returned, setting our drinks down. I noticed Adeline's glass was bigger than mine, and was full to the very top. He stared at Adeline, and even though she smiled politely, I could tell she was bothered. She didn't meet his eyes, and she fidgeted with the napkin in her lap. This fucker was pissing me off. Bad.
"Yeah, you can. You can stop fucking staring at my girl," I snarled at him. He abruptly looked over at me, and sized me up- preparing for a fight. He was pretty built, but I could take him. I was taller, and bigger. He narrowed his eyes and was about to say something, but I stood up and got in his face- which was a good inch lower. "You got something to fucking say? Cause if you do, it better be along the lines of... 'I'm very sorry, ma'am. I shouldn't be ogling you when it's clearly making you fucking uncomfortable, and when your boyfriend is right across the little fucking table'," I growled.
"Uh... ahem. Nothing," he said, backing away. I nodded.
"That's right, fucking nothing. We want a different waiter," I sneered, and sat back down by Adeline. She looked at me with wide eyes, and smiled a little.
"Thank you," she said, blushing. I scooted closer to her, and kissed her cheek.
"You're blushing," I teased. She covered her face, and laughed.
"Sorry- it's just, nobody's ever stood up for me like that before," she told me. I chuckled.
"What, your other boyfriends didn't care or something?" I asked. She uncovered her face, and looked very uncomfortable.. and didn't meet my eyes. "Adeline... what is it? What aren't you telling me?" I demanded.
"I... uh, well, it's a funny story, actually... um, you probably won't believe me, but... well, heh, you're, uh... you're my f-first boyfriend," she stammered out. I felt my jaw drop in shock. I was her first boyfriend? As in, she'd never had a boyfriend before? As in... wait, what?
"I... you... what?" I questioned incoherently.
"Well, you're my first boyfriend. I never really had an interest in any of the guys at school, or college. You know? So I didn't waste my time. I just.. focused on school. Which is why I graduated as Valedictorian," she shrugged. I put my arm around her shoulders, and felt so fucking proud that she was mine.
"Wow... that's fucking awesome. I love that," I reassured her. "Not as much as I love you, though," I kissed her nose.
"Good," she smiled, and continued to browse her menu. I looked at mine, too, and finally decided what to get. When we put the menus back down, a different waiter came up. He had baby blue, smoothed back hair, bright green eyes, and pale skin.
"Hi! I'm Dakota, and I'm your new server! Are you two lovebirds ready to order?" he asked in a feminine voice. He was gay! Yes!
"I'd like the spicy chicken sandwich with an order of onion rings," she ordered, handing the menu to Dakota. I got the chocolate chip pancakes- what? They're fucking awesome- and he left to get our food made.
We ended up having an amazing day- until it was time to head back to the bus and get ready for our last show. The show we were going to perform the song for Kristian Mallory... our very last show of Warped Tour this year.
The show before the girl of my dreams moves in with me and the band.
