Mae woke up and put on her training clothes. As she was stretching her body Chi-Chi burst into the room. "Mom?" Mae blinked in surprise.
"Why are you wearing that?" Chi-Chi asked looking at her attire.
"I'm going to train?" Mae said raising an eyebrow at her.
"Don't tell me you've forgotten what's happening today?" Chi-Chi sighed when Mae shrugged. "It's your wedding day. I swear you are exactly like Goku."
"I just got my days mixed up, calm down." Mae said tucking her hands in her pockets.
"Alright, get dressed." Chi-Chi said.
"I am." Mae replied.
"You can't be serious." Chi-Chi said crossing her arms.
"I don't see what the problem is." Mae shrugged. Training clothes were what she felt most comfortable in.
"You do realize that the gods are going to be here." Chi-Chi said.
"So what? They've seen me like this." Mae said walking out of the room.
"Get back here!" Chi-Chi yelled running after her daughter. When they ran into Goku Chi-Chi huffed. "Goku do something about your daughter!"
"What am I doing?" Goku asked raising an eyebrow.
"She won't wear a dress." Chi-Chi said.
"So?" Goku tilted his head.
"This is exactly what I mean!" Chi-Chi snapped. "You make her wear one. Actually no wait that's a bad idea. Bulma! Videl! Can you guys help me here?"
Bulma and Videl walked over. "Mae why aren't you dressed?" Videl asked.
"I don't see what the big deal is. I don't think Jiren is gonna be all fancy." Mae pouted.
Jiren rounded the corner with Toppo at his side. "I'm glad that you and Dyspo made it." He said. He was wearing a sleek black suit with a blue undershirt and a black tie. "Oh hey."
Chi-Chi pointed at Jiren. "See he's all dressed up. Now let's go."
"Jiren save me!" Mae said trying to grab him while her mother dragged her back to her room.
"Don't worry about her. She is just being difficult." Bulma reassured him.
"So, typical Mae." Jiren smiled, shaking his head.
"Pretty much." Bulma laughed.
"Let's see what we have to work with." Videl said opening Mae's closet. She pulled out one dress, the same one that Whis had given her for her birthday.
"Is that the only dress you have?" Chi-Chi asked.
"Yea. I don't make a habit of buying dresses." Mae said cross legged on the bed.
"This is why we should have gone shopping before today." Bulma sighed.
"Put this on." Videl said handing her the dress.
"Fine." Mae snatched it from her and put it on. She flattened out the skirt that showed the embroidered flowers. "How's that?"
"You look beautiful. Now let's do something with your hair." Chi-Chi said. She brushed her hair but no matter what, it wouldn't flatten out. Chi-Chi sighed and resorted to a blue and green flower clip in Mae's hair.
"That's so pretty!" Videl cooed.
As the girls were getting Mae ready Whis walked over to Goku and Vegeta. Their wives made both of them put on suits as well. "So who is going to walk Mae down the aisle?" He asked with a twinkle in his eye.
"Me of course." Goku said.
"Are you okay with that Vegeta?" Whis asked the prince.
"Why would I care?" Vegeta raised an eyebrow.
"Just wondering, since you are Mae's teacher." Whis chuckled.
"He has a point." Vegeta said. "Stand aside, Kakarot."
"Wait what?!" Goku exclaimed. "She's my daughter!"
As the saiyans began to bicker Whis returned to Beerus. "Whis what did you do?" Beerus asked his attendant.
"Oh nothing." Whis chuckled. "Just causing some mischief."
"Whatever." Beerus sighed eating another piece of honey shrimp. "Good thing they prepared all this food."
"Indeed my lord." Whis agreed.
"That's it! Let's settle this the old fashioned way!" Goku said holding out his hand.
"Fine with me!" Vegeta yelled.
At the same time they said, "Rock, Paper, Scissors!" Goku put up rock and Vegeta, paper.
"Hah! I win Kakarot!" Vegeta said triumphantly.
"No fair!" Goku complained.
"I'll let you have this one, Kakarot." Vegeta smirked. "But you owe me."
"Fine." Goku smirked back.
Bulma and Videl finally came out. "Goku you should go back there. We finally managed to get Mae dressed." Bulma sighed.
Goku went inside and found Mae sulking on a chair. "You ready?" He asked her.
"I suppose. I don't know why everyone is making such a fuss." Mae said crossing her arms.
"Well to be fair you are getting married." Goku laughed. "When Chi-Chi and I got married it was a big fuss as well. I'm glad we did it the way we did. I'm sure later on you and Jiren will look back on this day differently."
"Hmm, maybe." Mae sighed. "Well I guess we better get this over with." She laughed tucking her arm around Goku's.
When they walked outside Mae saw Jiren standing, waiting for her. She blushed slightly and it took everything not to run to him. She took a deep breath when she stepped in front of him. Goku took her hand and gave it to Jiren. "Take care of my girl." He said.
"I will." Jiren said as Goku went to sit with Chi-Chi.
"I'm glad we are here today to see Son Mae and Jiren get married." Bulma said starting the ceremony.
As she continued to talk Mae tuned her out. The only thing she could focus on was Jiren. The way he held her hand. The way he smiled down at her. She was so glad to have met him and even more so to get to share her life with him. Jiren rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand causing her to blush slightly. Part of her wanted to burst into laughter and the other part of her wanted the world to melt away. Leaving only herself and Jiren.
"Do you, Jiren, take Mae to be your wife?" Bulma asked.
"I do." Jiren said.
"Do you, Mae, take Jiren to be your husband?" Bulma asked again.
"Yes, I do." Mae said.
"Then I pronounce you husband and wife!" Bulma exclaimed.
Jiren pulled Mae to him and kissed her. Time stopped and all she could feel was him. When he pulled away she let out a breath. They turned around and saw their friends and family clapping and celebrating. Jiren took her hand in his and she blushed again.
"I love you." He whispered.
"I love you too." Mae said stiffling a giggle.
Just as they were to join the others the Grand Priest and the two Zen-Ohs appeared. Instantly the kais, Beerus, and Belmod were on their feet bowing to the omnikings.
"Zeni!" Mae said excitedly. "What brings you guys here?"
"We heard you and Jiren got married." One of the Zen-Ohs said.
"We wanted to come and say congratulations." The other one giggled.
"Well thanks!" Mae blushed.
"Jiren, does this mean we are friends now?" Zen-Oh asked.
"Are we? Are we?" The other asked inching closer to him.
Jiren looked to Mae and Goku who were both giving encouraging smiles. "Yea we can be friends." Jiren told them.
"Yaaay!" They cheered together.
"Congratulations, Mae and Jiren." The Grand Priest said. "Feel free to visit us sometime."
"We gotta go now." Zen-Oh said.
"Come play with us soon!" The other one waved as they vanished.
Once they were gone the gods collapsed. "That could have been worse." Beerus groaned.
"Did she really call him Zeni?" Belmod brought his hand to his face.
"They get all uptight whenever Zeni shows up." Mae said putting her hands on her hips.
"I mean, yea." Jiren laughed.
Slowly everyone came to talk to them and congratulate them. When Dyspo walked up Mae smirked, "how come you didn't use your special trick when we fought."
"I didn't think I would need it." Dyspo said.
"Maybe we should have a rematch." Mae grinned.
"Sure, think you can keep up with me?" Dyspo smirked.
"I know I can." Mae said bringing her hands up.
"Mae!" Chi-Chi yelled, rushing over. She wacked Mae on the head, "I said no fighting!"
"Mom! I just wanted to spar a little!" Mae groaned holding her head.
"No!" Chi-Chi yelled. "I swear, you saiyans. I'm sorry about her, Dyspo."
"No worries." Dyspo laughed.
"Well shall we go and have fun with the rest of them?" Jiren asked taking her hand.
"Sure." Mae smiled brightly as they joined the rest of the party.
