I trudged down the hallway, the murmurs of "-new kid-" and "-the game-" clouding my ears.
I wandered around the halls looking for the principal's office. I stopped when I saw Emily by her locker.
"Hey, Emily! Do you know where the principal's office is?" I called over to her.
She looked up and her eyes brightened.
"Yeah. I'll walk you there." She smiles.
We walked over to the office. She darted off with a quick 'bye' saying she needed to get to class.
I opened the door to the principals office, only to came face to face with the 'bad boy' and his 'posse', by looks of it.
"You new?" He asked me. I nodded, not trusting my mouth to speak.
"Awesome. It's time there's more players in my game." He walked off with his 'posse' trailing after him.
Hmm, cocky much? I thought.
Then I remembered something that was nagging me. It's only my first day and I already have the 'bad boy' and his 'posse' after me. And he has a 'game'!? Something tells me I won't be playing nicely in this game. Also that I really don't want to play the game. But, another thing tells me that the 'game' will make my fake life so much more interesting. Yet I don't even know what it is!
Ugh! Why is high school so bloody confusing!?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I trudged up the steps to the laboratory section of the school. I was so exhausted! And don't even get me started on the mountain of homework! That pile's so big, I could climb it! It didn't help that I was in all AP classes.
Luckily though, I haven't seen the 'bad boy' since our encounter this morning. I've been kinda in a bitchy mood after that.... But anyways! Other than that, today was swell! Note the sarcasm.
I have homework. Mountains of it! I got a call from my agent telling me I had to get dressed for meeting Mario from Extra! for another interview about the move. What's so damn exciting about Kayla Burns moving from her rundown hometown, to Beverly Hills! Actually, now that I think about it, it does sound kinda important. But besides that! I had to go in that nasty smelling washroom and hide so the people wouldn't find out I was Kayla Burns to take the damn phone call. I could have died!
I could go on and on all about how this day was so horrid, but of course I can't do that because I have a days worth of freaking homework to do! Goodbye social life! I'll miss you dearly! Don't forget me!
But I'm also happy because this is the last period and then I'm home free! Besides that stupid interview. So after this period, I can also take this itchy wig off. Hallelujah!
I threw down my bag on the floor by my chair and sat down. I laid my head down on the desk and sighed. This day would soon be over.
The bell rang and about fifteen kids came poring in. The teacher followed them. He looked like an old guy who didn't give a shit about anything so long as he could retire. It's a shame how right I was. He looked like he was only fifty or something like that.
I almost died when I saw Emily bounding in. How could she leave me to suffer this alone! I may have also had a heart attack when she slid in the seat next to me acting like nothing was wrong. I hate the world.
"Hey! How was your first day? I bet it was a blast!" She smiled all enthusiastically about absolutely nothing.
I just held my head and groaned in response. She's shitting me, right?
"Oh, come on! It couldn't have been that bad." She waved her hand dismissively.
Thankfully, the teacher stopped my conversation by clapping his hands and introducing himself.
"Good afternoon, class. Today we have a new student joining us. Kayla, would you care to introduce yourself?" He asked.
With my fabulous day and all, how do think I responded?
If you answered; I don't give a shit, you are absolutely right! Congratulations!
Now of course I didn't actually say that, being the awesome person I am. I simply declined.
A collective gasp went around the room. The teacher dismissed it, and for that I was grateful.
The door suddenly slammed closed and I jumped a little in my seat. I looked up. Oh hell no! Not this bitch!
"Glad you finally decided to grace us with your presence, Ross." The teacher spoke dully.
"I couldn't not, could I, Mr. Hines." Oh! So that was the 'bad boy's name. Ross. Hmph. Typical idiot bad boy name.
Ross slid into the desk behind me. "Well, what do we have here? It's the newbie." He whispered into my ear. I slightly turned around.
"Who's the 'we'? I only see you." I said back to him. Then as if on cue, two other boys slid into the seats next to him. I recognized them as his 'posse'.
"Hello, lady. The names Moore. Dylan, Moore." the one on the left held out his hand for me to shake. The other guy punched him the shoulder.
"Dude! That's my line! The names Jesse. Anderson."
He also held out his hand for me to shake. I shook both of their hands. Then I chuckled. Their antics were funny.
Ross squinted at me. "You know who Blondie looks like? Sorta familiar." Blondie? What do they me- oh. Right. The wig.
"Yeah. A little familiar. Who is it?" They all squinted at me.
Dylan snapped his fingers. "I know! I know! She looks like that Kayla girl!" My eyebrows popped up. Please please please don't let them see through my disguise.
"Kayla Burns? She has caramel hair with lavender and blonde highlights. This chick is clearly blonde." Jesse said still concentrating on my features.
"But her features look the same as that Kayla girl!" Dylan pouted.
"You only think that because you lurve her!" Ross sang in a teasing tone.
"Yeah! She's like your celebrity crush!" Jesse said.
Okay. Not gonna lie, its a little creepy to meet someone who obsesses over your real face. He looked like the kind who would spend hours drooling over a celebrity.
"Wait a minute! We don't even know Blondie's name!" Ross slapped his forehead in frustration. They all looked at me expectantly.
"Kayla. Kayla Jackson." I said, mocking Jesse and Dylan.
"No fair! She's mocking me." Both of them squealed at the same time. I only smirked. So crazy.
My train of thought got cut of by the bell ringing and the teachers voice.
"-and the last two together are Kayla Jackson and Ross Mathews." Ross and me looked at each other. Oh shit was racing through my mind. His game! Is this it? Also, don't forget the 'why did I do this again?'s coursing along side my other thoughts.
But, only like ten minutes till I take this scratchy wig off. Hurray!

Ross's POV
I turned on Extra! and sat down on the couch. There was something off about that Kayla girl. I just couldn't put my finger on it. It's like I knew her from somewhere, but I don't know where! Then there's that way she froze when Jesse and Dylan mentioned Kayla Burns.
Something is defiantly of about this chick. It's true that her features are almost a look-a-like with that pop star. The crystal blue eyes that look like jewels, her long, tan legs. But that smile, that stands out the most. Those pearly whites, so pretty. I sighed dreamily.
I'm not going to deny it, Blondie's hot, but she's still classified as a Keeper. I'm a Spiller. Maybe after the games we could be together. Maybe. But that means I can't betray her secret either. Quite the dilemma.
I flicked on the T.V., hoping to calm my aching head.
"-and today we have a very special guest joining us. Miss Burns, would you come out here and grace us with your presence?" Mario, the host of Extra!, asked.
"Oh, Mario, you're too kind." Kayla walked up next to Mario with an innocent smile on her face, her eyes kind. She looked like Blondie, besides the hair. Kayla's naturally caramel hair with blond highlights framed her face perfectly, and her sapphire eyes twinkled.
"Just stating the truth." Mario smirked. "And while we're on that topic, can you clear up some rumors about you going to a local school in California?"
"Ah, yes, Mario. I am going to a public school. But," Her voice held a teasing tone. "no one there knows it's me. Sorry but I can't tell you any more than that."
"Kayla!" Mario's hand flew to his chest, faking hurt. "I thought we were best friends!"
She smiled sympathetically. "Sorry. While I'm there, I just want to be an normal teen, and I can't do that with everyone knowing who I am, can I?"
"I suppose not darling, I suppose not. Well, when you decide to tell us who you are, we can schedule another meet-up. See ya soon, Kayla!"
"Bye Mario." She walked off the platform and gave high fives to all the screaming fans that were close enough.
I turned off the T.V. Those two are just too similar. Something is going to be reviled, Kayla Jackson. Whether you like it or not.
