And s e r v i c e

"You do realise how mad I am at you, don't you?"

The small monochromatic skeleton flinched, looking meekly up at the God and nodding. "Yes..."

Nightmare stared down at him, a scowl on his face. "You could have just told me what was happening. That would have gone a lot smoother."

"I-I know...but I just felt like you'd try stop me or something..." He mumbled, pressing his face into his side. "Sorry..."

He sighed loudly, rolling his eye. "It's fine, don't worry about it." He pulled a hand up, resting it on top of the smaller's skull and rubbing it softly. "All we can do now is see what Dream will do."

Cross hummed softly, digging his face further into his chest. "What do you think your brother will do...?"

"Cave in and fling himself into the mortal's arms like a rag doll." He snorted, looking to the side of the large room they were currently sat in.

It was a dark dungeon chamber, the walls carved from the granite-like rocks deep under the castles twisting corridors. It was cold and dark, only two flaming torches lighting up the room. They cast a ghostly glow, the flickering flames constantly shifting all the shadows around them. In the middle of the room, a large pedestal stood, constructed from quartz and marble. Floating on top, choked by thick and heavy chains, was Dream's soul. It was slightly cracked and dull, no longer shining a brilliant golden.

The two were sat in a corner, silent and waiting for either one or both of the two lovebirds in denial to stumble in.

In the far corner of the room, the Alpha was curled up, his blue eyes narrowed into slits as he started at the door, on guard.

"What are we going to do when they actually get here?" Cross asked softly, shifting closer to Nightmare on the cold stone floor.

"If they've accepted their love for each other, we'll make a deal. If not...I guess we'll just have to compromise."

"Dream?" Killer called, his voice anxious and cracking as he hurried down yet another corridor. "Dream please come out, we can talk about this!"

No answer came from the dark corridors, only the echo of his own voice. It sounded weak, rather pathetic compared to how it usually sounded.

"Dream please don't do this!" He looked around helplessly, desperately listening out for the sound of footsteps or crying.

Still, no response.

The mortal continued onwards, his hands slipping into his hoodie pockets and clenching into nervous fists. "What was that reaction for...?" He muttered to himself. "Am I really that horrible to fall in love with?"

Of course he knew that wasn't really the case. Dream was only acting this way because falling in love with Killer would mean breaking his realms number one rule. And he'd be a massive hypocrite to his brother. He was just confused and conflicted over his own feelings.

Honestly, Killer was feeling the same. He didn't know what to think of the burning sensation in his soul as he continued his trek through the hallways. He didn't know what he was going to do when he found Dream -if he found Dream- and he certainly didn't know how he was going to relax the small traumatised bean in any way.

He'd probably blurt out the first shit that comes into his head. "I love you" would be the most obvious and stupid option for him.

That would probably result in Dream becoming even more traumatised and Killer breaking down as well.

God, Love is such a curse.

But here goes nothing, right?

He glanced around another corner, his hopeful expression falling as he saw the same thing that he'd seen when glancing round the last hundred hallways. Nothing.

He'd given up on calling out Dream's name. That probably just pushed him further away in a panic. Instead, he'd resulted to sneaking around as quietly as possible, his non-existent ears straining to hear any possible sign of the runaway sunshine God.

Obviously Dream must know more about this castle than Killer. He must have been to his brother's castle once or twice, so he'd probably have at least the smallest bit of knowledge of this place. Unlike Killer, who had none.

He bit his bottom lip, continuing his desperate search for Dream for a whole hour before his non-existent ears picked up a sound he'd both longed and feared to hear.

It was the sound of muffled crying.

The mortal immediately paused, looking around and listening to hear what direction it was coming from. It sounded like it was coming from one of the side rooms that lead off from the long corridor he was stuck in currently.

Creeping forwards as quietly as possible, Killer slid over to one of the closed doors, his fingers gently curling around the handle and gripping onto it tightly. His breathing had already gone funny, no matter how hard he tried to keep it calm and relaxed. He was just so nervous for what would happen once he opened this door.

What if Dream completely denied him and ran off again? What if this was all a hoax and Nightmare was just messing with their minds? What if Dream wasn't even in there?

He growled softly to himself and shook his head, forcing those thoughts out of his head. "Come on Killer, you can do this." He muttered softly, tipping his head back momentarily and closing his eyes before quickly pushing the handle down and shoving the door open.

As soon as he did so, a terrified yelp rang out from inside, followed by frantic movement. "S-Stay back!"

"Dream." Killer shut the door quickly behind him to block any way of escape, his eyes straining to see the dark silhouette of the smaller hunched up in a corner. "It's just me..."

He whimpered, his golden eyes looking so broken and hurt that it even made Killer's soul sting. "L-Leave me alone..."

"I know you're just saying that." He whispered, slowly stepping closer to him. "You don't mean it."

"I do!" He protested, pressing himself further against the cold wall. "I-I don't feel anything for you!"

Even though he knew Dream didn't mean what he was saying, that hurt Killer, making him flinch. "But I have feelings for you, Dream."

"Ignore them." He said, choking on his own words.

Killer smiled weakly, shaking his head as he crouched down next to the smaller. "I can't Dream. And I know you can't either..."

The smaller stared at him, shining tears sliding down his bony cheeks. "B-But the law..."

"Forget it." Killer held out a hand, his pupils glowing softly with hope. "I know you want to follow it, but is it really all worth it?"

Dream sniffed, his shaking pupils resting on Killer's hand as he held back a few more sobs.

"Dream, I love you."

He froze, his body stiffening up as Killer said those words. His mind was screaming at him, saying both to push him away and tell him no, stick to the law. But then the rest of his body was shaking, dying to just fling himself into Killer's arms and hug him tight. To forget the law and just be happy.

Killer watched him, noting how the smaller had started shaking slightly as he squeezed his eyes shut. "Dream I--"

He was cut off as Dream suddenly lunged at him, tackling him to the floor and smashing their lips together in a kiss.

At first Killer went into shock, freezing up in surprise. But then as soon as he snapped out of it, his hands gripped onto Dream tightly and he kissed back deeply, not planning on letting him go.

The kiss was nothing pretty, not like your cliché perfect film kisses. It was messy and full of tears, barely even a proper kiss. But both of them were happy. And that's all that mattered.

AAAAAAAAAAAA THEY'RE OFFICIALLLLLL

But like Oml this was the longest slow burn I've ever done for a single ship book. Like in pirates they properly kissed in chapter seven or nine, and apocalyptic Love was even shorter. This took 17 chapters XD

Oh well imma try this approach for most of my other books now hopefully. (If I can be bothered to write them)

Okieeeeee I think we're near the end nowww, sorry for this book being short :'D
