Lauren's POV
I was finally starting to get over my crush on Mason. Especially after the girls didn't pry about it and took me to Six Flags. I sighed. Who needs boys anyway?
I picked out a big striped sweater, wool tights and pleated gray skirt. I slipped on my hightop converse and grabbed my purse, pulling my hair into a ponytail as I walked out the door.
I got to school pretty early, stoping to talk to Kelly.
"So,how are things with you and Mason?"she asked, pushing her platinum blonde hair past her shoulders.
"Oh,umm,"I started, not sure how to embarrass myself in front of her. I was saved from the humiliation, though, when her boyfriend,Tyler, walked up,slinging his arm over her shoulder.
He had fluffy-looking black hair and bright blue eyes, and the two of them looked like such the picturesque couple.
"Hey babe. Hey,uh,Lauren, right?"he asked, and I nodded,"Um,Mason was looking for you."
"M-Me?"I stammered, and he gestured over to the other side of the cafeteria, where Mason was starting to walk over. The blonde he was kissing was draped on his arm,her face caked with makeup, but he pushed her off. I felt a stab of panic, grabbing my things before rushing into the girl's bathroom,Kelly and Tyler yelling after me.
I locked myself in a stall, pulling my feet up to my chest. Suddenly,a single fat tear fell down my face as my heart broke. I wasn't over him and we technically hadn't even been on one date.
Mason's POV
I looked around the cafeteria desperately. She was always avoiding me,so I hadn't been able to talk to her. Then I saw her standing uncomfortably as Tyler and Kelly embraced each other. He said something to her,and she looked at me as I slammed my chair back.
"Woah. Someone's cranky. Where are you going?"Whitney asked, twirling a strand of her greasy blonde hair around her finger. She was wearing so much makeup I couldn't even see an inch of skin that wasn't covered in it,and she was also sporting a double chin. God,why did I mess things up with Lauren for this thing? I looked back at Lauren just in time to see her run out of the room,Kelly and Tyler yelling after her. I didn't notice Whitney's hand on my arm,but I jerked away from it,gathering my books as I ran after her.
"Baby! Where are you going?"she yelled after me,but was cut off by the ringing of the bell. I sighed deeply before heading to my first class.
Lauren's POV
I was silently sniffling through my classes, trying to give myself motivational quotes. Jess and Kat were no where to be found, and I probably should've been worried, but I just couldn't stop thinking about him. Ughh,I had to stop. We never even kissed,it wasn't my fault, and I was just to trusting.
After what seemed like an eternity, the lunch bell rang, and I couldn't find any of the girls anywhere. I sighed, preparing to hide from Mason in the bathroom. Suddenly, though,an arm pulled me back and a hand covered my mouth as I was dragged somewhere. I screamed, thrashing and kicking as I was pulled down the halls. My captor winced as I kicked him/her in the leg. I was pulled into the janitor's closet and the door was locked.
I stood for a moment by the door, stooping to catch my breath before turning around. I let out a strange noise from the back of my throat as I saw Mason, his eyes trailed on me as I looked around in panic.
He stepped towards me,causing me to flinch, and he recoiled slightly as a look of hurt crossed his face.
"Lauren, please talk to me,"he asked, followed by a huge period of silence. He didn't deserve to explain, and he wouldn't have the chance to if I wasn't locked in this closet with him.
Mason's POV
"Listen, please listen to me. I know you probably don't want to hear what I have to say,but please just listen. Kissing Whitney was a huge mistake. I-I was just having a super crappy day,and I just kin of lost myself. I have absolutely no desire to be with her,"I said,my voice wavering.
"Then,"Lauren gulped,a sob escaping her throat,"why don't I believe you?" I didn't think she'd even care about me anymore,or at least enough to talk to me.
"You have to believe me. Lauren, you're not like all of the other girls that go here. There's just something about you....."I grabbed her hand. Her's slightly trembled, but she didn't move away. I apologized profusely a few more times, staring at her intensely to show her how much I meant what I said.
"If this doesn't help you forgive me,then maybe this will,"I said, pulling her into a deep kiss,my hand moving up and down her back. I pulled back, her blush practically glow in the dark. I smiled, and, surprisingly, she did too. It was like a silent acceptance of my apology, and she moved to the door.
"Let's go,"she said, jiggling the doorknob,"Umm,come open this with your key." I walked to the door, realizing how stupid I'd been.. I played with it a little before turning to her,
"Um,so,we're maybe locked in.'"
Hey! I'm so tired,so I'm skipping all this junk at the ennnnnnnddddd.........😴(snores)
