Right before Michael could fire a bullet into Gidget's brain, there was a very loud screech. At first, Gidget thought it was Tiberius. However, it sounded like it was inside the truck. A second later, Andromeda leaped up and bit down hard on the hand holding the gun. Crying out in pain, Michael jerked his hand to the side and fired his gun, trying to hit Andromeda. However, he completely missed and the bullet accidentally struck a fuel line. Sparks appeared.
Swinging his other hand back, Michael lost his hold on Gidget. The Pomeranian ended up flying through the open window. Yelping, she saw the ground coming closer and closer. She quickly shut her sky blue eyes in fear, expecting to hit the road hard. However, she never made contact with the pavement.
Confused, Gidget blinked her eyes open to discover that Tiberius had caught her. "You okay?" the old hawk asked, gently placing her on the ground. Nodding her head, Gidget tried to catch her breath. Just then, she realized something horrifying as she cried, "Andromeda's still in the truck!"
Before either parent could act, the truck burst into flames and crashed on the side of the road.
