A red piece of rubber,
Lying on my desk.
So I decide to pick it up,
And give it a chance.
It makes a weird shape,
As I hold it up to the light.
What's it supposed to be?
I decide to lick it.
I would advise against that,
For it tastes awful rubbery.
Huh, there's an opening,
At one end of the object.
I pick up the odd thing,
And attempt to peer into it.
Once again, I put my lips to it,
This time, I feel the sudden urge to blow.
I take a gulp of air,
And the oxygen comes.
This thing began to expand,
Right in front of me.
I keep blowing,
And it keeps getting larger.
It's bigger than a baseball,
Bigger than a glass pane.
It gets bigger than a table,
Bigger than a tree!
When will it stop growing?
How much longer must I breath into it?
It begins to stretch the doors,
Of my old house.
The windows crack from the pressure,
And my lips won't leave this thing.
The roof pops off my house,
And I'm floating in the sky.
I keep the air flowing,
As the sky lifts us up.
I wave goodbye,
To my old life.
I still don't know what this thing is,
Or if I'm using it right.
Now, can anyone tell me
What the heck this thing is?
