"I'm going to miss the bus!", Lily screamed as she ran to the toaster to grab the steaming hot pop tart. She rushed towards the door, and then ran out. The bus was nowhere in sight.
"Crap.", Lily sighed. She walked back into the house and told her mom she missed the
"I told you to set your alarm 5 minutes earlier! No way in heck are you going camping with Rebekah this weekend!"
"Mom! No! I'm sorry, I'll walk! Please let me go!" Lily slouched her shoulders and gave her mom the puppy dog eyes. Her mom shook her head and grabbed her keys.
"I don't have time for this Lillian. You know better. Now get into the car before I leave without you."
Lily hopped in the car, stuffing her face with the cinnamon flavored pop tart that was now cold.
This was regular for Lily-- to miss the bus. She was very disorganized and lazy. The usual teen. She was 15 at the time, and very full of emotions. Johnson High was the school she was attending, and she loved it! She played volleyball, and swam. But things changed after what happened. Monday was only the beginning.
Lily finally arrived at school; late as always. She got a tardy pass and ran to first period English.
"Well, well, well Mrs. Jones, finally nice to see you."
"Missed the bus... Again. Sorry Mr. Robins."
"If this happens again, I'm going to have to call home."
Lily didn't really care if he called home. Her mom has been very understanding after her father's passing. She could get away with anything she wanted.
After 1st period came 2nd, then 3rd then so on, and so on. 7th period was her favorite class period. Mrs. Dawson's class was filled with her teammates from the volleyball team. Jessica "Jess" Adams was Lily's closest friend. Her dad had passed awhile back and she helped Lily through it. But things were changing with them; Jess was moved up to Varsity Volleyball, but Lily was still on JV.
"Hey, Jess!"
"Oh. Hey Lily. What's up?"
"Nothing... just saying hey?"
"Umm, okay..."
"Okay Jess. What's your deal been lately? I thought we were friends, but ever since you moved up, things have changed."
"I have more friends than just you Lily. I helped you out, and that is what friends are for. Be thankful anyone was there for you."
"No no. I am thankful I just feel like you've been ignoring me."
Jess turned around and talked to the most popular girl on the volleyball team, Aubrey Abrahams. Lily just faced the board and tears began to form in her eyes.
"His name is James. He's like 23 and he's so fit. I'm pretty sure he's gotta 8 pack.", Jess said to Aubrey.
"Well mine is named Austin and he's like soooooo hot. He showed me his--"
"Shhhh. Mrs. Dawson is right there Aubrey!"
Lily tapped Jess's shoulder and asked,
"What are you guys talking about?"
"It's a new dating app. It's called 'dateMe', but you're too innocent."
Lily took out her phone and went to the App Store. She had to download it, had to. She needed to prove to Jess that she is not innocent so she could be friends again.

The bell rang to dismiss school.
Lily waited in line for the bus to come pick her up.
After the long bus ride, Lily checked her phone for any notifications.
None. Well crap guess I'm too ugly.
Lily went to her bed to take a nap, but ended up not waking up. Her mom let her sleep,

Her mother turned off the light and walked away.
"Bzzzz, bzzzz". Lily's phone buzzed and it was a notification from dateMe, but it wasn't loud enough to to wake her.
