This type of girls enjoyed the feeling of being pursued by many guys. They were the kind of ladies that Baili Ce despised the most.
Gu Xijiu was an exceptional woman. She was straightforward when it came to relationship matters. If she did not like the person, she would outrightly reject him. "Of course." Gu Xijiu answered without hesitation. She took up her glass and said, "Let's drink and forget about what had just happened. I will always treat you as a friend."
Baili Ce felt touched. He also took up his glass and toasted with her. "Alright! We are friends forever!"
After the minor incident, everyone went back to eating the meat and drinking. Some of the villagers sang songs while others chatted with each other.
Suddenly, something unexpected happened during the enjoyable moment. As the beasts living inside the mountain would occasionally attack the village, there were always people guarding as sentries to look after the surrounding area of the village. There was no exception for tonight as well.
All the sentries carried out their duties very seriously as the life and death of the village people were at stake. They would quickly blow the whistle to warn the people, and they had never made a mistake before carrying out their duties.
However, something bizarre happened tonight. While everyone was happily drinking, suddenly, there was a wailing sound coming from a baboon on top of the tree. The sound was very mournful as if the baboon's neck had suddenly been grabbed. Everyone shivered when they heard the sound.
Several black shadows appeared from the sky before they could even react, bringing with them a gust of strong wind. Everyone in the village had fought a lot with the beasts living in the mountain, so they had been trained to react quickly to such circumstances. They all jumped up from their seats and held their weapons. Some of them shouted, "Who is it?"
The shadows moved at lightning speed. When they had landed on the ground, they immediately attacked the villagers who had responded slowly.
It took them only a few seconds to grab hold of the villagers. Before the villagers were able to see the black shadows clearly, a few of them had been caught by the shadows and were immediately torn in half!
Blood splashed everywhere, and it even contaminated the liquor that was still warm.
The crowd was in chaos!
It was at this time that one of the black shadows rushed towards Gu Xijiu! They could see the glowing pair of eyes of the shadow underneath the light. It was a pair of cold and sharp green eyes, which intimidated people when they looked into them.
The shadow did not belong to a human but rather a fierce beast!
Its body was full of black hair. Even its face was covered with black hair. Its body size was that of a human. It looked like an ape and a hawk at the same time. There was also a pair of black wings on its back. It was the first time Gu Xijiu saw this kind of creature. However, she had studied about the creatures in this continent before and was used to seeing the pictures and descriptions of some of the fiercest and most powerful spiritual beasts.
She immediately recognized the creature. It was the Black Demon Eagle!
It was a legendary level eight spiritual beast. It was also one of the only ancient evil beasts that could move at lightning speed. It was the size of a human and was entirely covered with black hair. It lived off the power of the sky and the earth, so it possessed the endless strength. The Black Demon Eagle could even split a rhino in half, and it was specialized in wood element spiritual power. The Black Demon Eagle could transform into human form when it had increased its spiritual power to at least level eight. It liked eating hearts belonging to humans so whenever humans encountered the Black Demon Eagle, it was disastrous for them.
The beast was thought to be only a myth. It was said that there was a riot which involved spiritual beasts on the continent thousands of years ago. The Black Demon Eagle was one of the beasts that were part of the riot during that time. The Lord was the one who was responsible for sealing away all the beasts inside the dark forest at the eighth peak along with the other masters. It had been peaceful for a few thousand years now. It was unlucky of them to have met the beast at such a place. No one recognizes this beast except for Gu Xijiu as it was an extremely rare beast.
Gu Xijiu noticed that its fingers were as sharp as knives when it rushed towards her. Gu Xijiu had no doubts that she would easily be shredded into pieces if she was caught by the Black Demon Eagle.
She reacted very quickly and immediately teleported away to avoid being caught. She teleported behind the Black Demon Eagle and immediately swung her sword at its back.
"Clanggggg!" It made a loud noise as if her sword had hit solid gold. Gu Xijiu's wrist shook due to the impact, and her sword almost fell from her hand.
She had not left even a scratch on the eagle. Instead, she had triggered it to be furious, and it immediately turned to attack her.
Gu Xijiu had quick reflexes and so was able to avoid the Black Demon Eagle's attacks with her strange movement.
However, the other villagers were not as lucky. The other two Black Demon Eagles had rushed towards the crowd. They seemed to know that the women were the weaker ones among the villagers, so they rushed towards them!
Fortunately, everyone in the village was well-trained. After a few seconds of chaos, they had spontaneously gathered into one big group with the woman well protected at the center of the group.
The other eight villagers who possessed a higher level of spiritual power formed a team and started fighting with the two Black Demon Eagles.
Gu Xijiu had taught them this method of hunting several days ago. The method came in handy when they were fighting more massive size beasts. It was more useful to gather in a group and attack than to charge forward as individuals.
The villagers who were attacking the Black Demon Eagles were the elites of the village. They were very brave and strong and were some of the best hunters in the village.
However, they could not even sustain for more than a few minutes when they went against the two Black Demon Eagles.
The Black Demon Eagles were too fast for them! Moreover, they could become invisible. While they were attacking the villagers, the two Black Demon Eagles would disappear and suddenly appear from out of nowhere to attack the villagers.
The Black Demon Eagles continuously attacked the villagers. Though they were saved consistently by their companions at the last critical moment and had not been torn in half, they had sustained severe injuries and were bleeding out profusely.
Strangely, the blood that came out of their wounds was green in color. It seemed like something was infecting their wounds which made them itch like crazy while losing their strength at the same time.
A beast with a spiritual power of level eight was equivalently comparable to a human with a spiritual power of level nine. The evil dragon that they had killed several days ago possessed a spiritual power of level eight. Though more than ten villagers had joined the hunt that day, they were all unable to stop the dragon. Even Baili Ce had been severely injured during the battle. If Gu Xijiu had not shown up on time, everyone would have been killed in the fight.
Among the beast who possessed a spiritual power of level eight, the evil dragon was considered as a low-tier beast while the Black Demon Eagle was regarded as a middle-tier beast. It was even more powerful than the evil dragon.
Now, three Black Demon Eagles were attacking the village at the same time. Within a short period, the village had almost been destroyed.
Most of the villagers were beginning to lose their ability to fight, and there were lesser people now fighting the three Demon Black Eagles.
Gu Xijiu partnered with Luo Zhanyu and were now facing one of the Black Demon Eagles. Even though they were able to keep up with it, they had no spare time to worry about the other villagers.

The next thing they heard was the sound of footsteps heading straight for the village.
Beast riot!
The Black Demon Eagle was capable of triggering a beast riot!
Numerous beasts were living on the mountain. Occasionally, they would attack the village in a group. Only a single type of species would show up each time. However, they would come in a group of eight to nine beasts. The villagers had set up the traps outside the village. In addition to the resistance from the people, they were usually able to defeat the beasts.
However, it was different this time. Earlier on, the villagers were overpowered by the remaining two Black Demon Eagles, and now they had to deal with a beast riot!
Their footsteps sounded like thunder. Based on the sound of their footsteps, it seemed like there were at least 400 to 500 beasts rushing towards the village. Besides that, it sounded like the footsteps were coming from different species of beasts. There were several kinds of beast approaching the village.
Regardless of where the beast riot took place, it always turned out to be a disaster, and there would be few to no survivors at the end of the riot. Not to mention that they were only a small village with less than 100 people.
It had been a challenge for them dealing with the two black eagles. Now, they even had to overcome a beast riot. It seemed like they were destined to die this time.

The atmosphere was full of despair. No one could think of a way to escape this disaster.

Gu Xijiu had run out of ideas. Although she could teleport to safety, she could only bring one or two people to escape together with her. What about the rest of the villagers? Were these people destined to die?
"Damn it! Let's fight!"
"Yes! We have to fight till the end!"
The villagers decided that there was nothing more they could lose other than their lives. Therefore, they strengthened themselves up and fought valiantly against the beasts.
There was the sound of people crying, weapons crashing, beasts roaring, the sound of flapping wings and the sound of footsteps. All kinds of sounds could be heard, and it was so noisy to the extent that no one could hear what the other person was shouting.
It was at this chaotic moment that they heard the sound of a flute playing. It was coming from somewhere in the sky. The flute sound was so apparent even though it was noisy. It was as though the sound was ringing in everyone's ears.
The flute sound was very soothing, and it echoed between heaven and earth. It was like a waterfall that flowed through everyone's heart. It was like a blooming flower in the spring. It was like the full moon that hung in the clear sky, and it washed away all the darkness in the world.
Gu Xijiu's heartbeat raced faster, and she looked towards the direction where the flute sound was coming.
She could see a person fluttering on top of the tree. He was wearing a white robe, and his black hair was flying along with the wind. The ruby fox eyes pendant on his forehead was shining in the dark. He was playing the flute, and colorful lights were seen from his fingertips.
His body seemed to be surrounded by the clouds and framed with silver lights. There was also a bright light glowing along the silver lights.
Di Fuyi, Celestial Master Zuo.
He had appeared from out of nowhere in the air. He was wearing a white robe and was floating in the air like a god. There was a strong aura surrounding him. His overpowering aura filled the atmosphere and suffocated the wild beasts.
Everyone was stunned. The villagers who were fighting also stopped moving and did not dare to breathe.
Fortunately, the two Black Demon Eagles were also controlled by Di Fuyi's aura, and the flute sound had washed away all their hostility. Both the eagles became dizzy as though they were drunkards and shakily moved around.
The birds in the sky and the beasts that were on the ground were very hostile at first to the extent that their eyeballs turned red. However, they regained their consciousness after listening to the sound of the flute. They were in a daze for a moment as their red eyes slowly returned to normal.

Their bodies shrunk at a rapid pace. In the end, their bodies had shrunk into a circle, and when the wind blew, their bodies disappeared into the air.
It was a shocking scene. The villagers had given up hope at first. They never expected to survive the beast riot.
The crowd looked at Di Fuyi who was levitating in the sky, and they were stunned. He was a mysterious holy god and was highly respected by everyone.
Of course, the villagers had never seen Di Fuyi like this before. They felt that he had a different aura surrounding him as compared to before. It was different from the time when he was seriously injured and appeared in front of everyone.

Gu Xijiu was stunned for a moment. Di Fuyi descended from the tree and stood in front of her. She asked, "You Have you recovered?"
Di Fuyi smiled but his body suddenly leaned forward, and he placed his arms around her shoulders. "Not yet."
He placed almost all of his weight on Gu Xijiu and whispered into her ear, "Baby, I have used up all of my power, so I am a bit weak now"
Gu Xijiu was speechless.
Suddenly the mussel appeared from behind the big tree and happily circled Gu Xijiu. "Master! Master! I have upgraded!"
Indeed, the mussel had upgraded. Its original grey shell had turned into a five-colored shell. There was even some fluorescent light shining around the mussel. It had upgraded to level eight!
The large village was severely affected by the battle. Everyone's huts were utterly wrecked, and the town was in ruins. It was fortunate that not many people had died in the fight, so it was not a big deal rebuilding the village.
However, many of them were injured. The wounds that the villagers had were rather strange. There was grass growing from within their injuries.
Gu Xijiu had never seen such a phenomenon before. Luckily Di Fuyi was an expert. He took out several pills and handed it to one of the villagers. He asked him to melt the tablets in water and use it to clean their wounds. There were a total of six deaths and more than ten villagers had been injured in the disaster. Even though they had suffered the most casualties this time around, everyone felt grateful that they had survived the catastrophe.
They were sad yet relieved. Soon enough, the villagers began rebuilding the village without wasting any time. Everyone had mixed feelings towards Celestial Master Zuo. They used to hate him a lot. However, it was because of him that everyone was alive. Therefore they decided not to hate him anymore.
While they were rebuilding the village, they voluntarily built a hut for him. It was similar to the one that they had made for Gu Xijiu. It was everyone's responsibility to rebuild the village. Except for Celestial Master Zuo, everyone who had survived the disaster involved themselves in doing so.
Gu Xijiu and Luo Zhanyu were busy healing the injured patients. Meanwhile, Celestial Master Zuo was strolling around the area. It seemed as though that he was looking for something.
It would require at least three to four days to fully reconstruct the village as all the houses had been severely damaged in the battle.
After a full day and night, only half of the houses had been rebuilt. They helped the injured patients to settle down in some of the homes that had been restored.
Everyone was exhausted. Therefore, except for the sentries, all the other villagers headed back home to have a good rest. Everyone currently shared homes with one another.
They respected Gu Xijiu and Celestial Master Zuo, so they had rebuilt their houses before everyone else's.
Gu Xijiu was also tired. She decided to head home to get some rest. Just as entered the house, she discovered that Di Fuyi was sitting in the living room.
He was still wearing the moonlight white robe. His hair was as black as ink. When he sat in the house, Gu Xijiu thought that she had gone into a portrait.
Her heartbeat raced as she blurted, "Aren't you worried that your identity would be exposed?"
He was leisurely drinking his tea as if he was in his house. He answered, "Stupid! They have never met The Lord before. How is it possible for them to recognize me? Moreover, they won't be able to discover my true identity just by just looking at my clothes."
Gu Xijiu replied, "It is not only your clothes. People will be able to tell that you are The Lord based on the spells that you used just now."
Di Fuyi poured a cup of tea for her too. "There are less than 20 people who have seen The Lord using his spells. These kids never had the opportunity to see me use my skills before."

Di Fuyi stared at her. "Why were you looking for me? I thought I left a note for you."
Gu Xijiu paused. It was true. He had indeed left her a note, but she was still worried about him because he had disappeared while being severely injured.
She bit her lips and smiled. "Alright, I think I might have worried too much"
Di Fuyi was still staring at her. He patiently explained, "I couldn't delay the treatment of my injuries. Therefore, I had to go to the Fountain of Heaven to meditate so that I would recover. I did try looking for you so that I could inform you that I was leaving.However, you were out collecting herbs, and I did not know when you would be back. Therefore, I could only leave a note for you. I thought you wouldn't come looking for me once you have read the note."
He used to live a carefree life all these years. He did not have to inform anyone regardless of where he went. Sometimes, even the four messengers did not know where he was. He was not used to the habit of sharing his plan with people. His actions of leaving a note behind informing Gu Xijiu of his temporary absence was already considered as very thoughtful.
