Summer air flows in hot breaths
melts my cold depressed chest
for months
day and night
The heat invited the devil in
he came with demons, snakes, and leeches
furled in through my door
To adhere justice, an angel appeared
lightening the weight of guilt
and soothing my fears
But yesterday's time with my demons cut deep wounds
too many days suffering in one room that even i have trouble returning from without leaving a piece of myself behind
and today in present has become irritating by the thoughts i want to be true
of a less solemn future my angel showed yet as he's spoken it's the same lie i've been living when my love reaches out to me
for then tomorrow may as well be repentant by the fantasies and dreams i gave into belief
as this angel can only do so much against his mischievous partner
with i in the middle of their tension
a red and white war fumes
white smoke plumes and red blood stains
As these tears will flood
because of who i gave my dependence to.
