What has it been? Two years? Since this journey of epic proportions began.
From the day that this story was uploaded into Wattpad's database, I never thought that it would have gotten this far. I might have dreamed, maybe, but I didn't believe that fancies would come through.
I am in no way as successful as successful can get on Wattpad, but everyone who has commented, voted, read has made my day after day after day after day after day. A Reject was not my first attempt at writing, but it was the first completed book I've ever written.
To anyone who has ever commented on any book - it doesn't have to be A Reject - thank you. I thank you for having the courage to speak up in what may seem like a silent crowd, to add in your two-cents on the chapter you are reading, to cheer on the protagonists, to jeer the unforgivable adversaries, to inspire and motivate the authors. You may not know it, but this little gesture means everything, even to the best of them. It doesn't matter if that author has a million followers, or maybe just a handful - as long as he or she is a true author who knows the power of words, and what they can do, it will mean everything.
I've been called a good writer by some, but I have to decline. When I look back at what I wrote so long ago, I can only smile, and cringe some at these reflections of a younger mind. So many other authors come to mind - published, or unpublished - and among their ranks, I do not belong. Please, don't forget the others who deserve your praise. Leave a comment, or vote, where chapters have left you smiling, chuckling, or even just entertained.
It has been a little over a year since I last updated A Reject, with the third Bonus Chapter. Since then, I have been waiting for Kim Marie and Alpha Jackson to waltz back into my mind to tell me how they've been doing. But, rest assured, I'm sure they're faring just fine, perhaps with a little kid between the two of them to lead the next generation.
I have also been writing a new book. I haven't done anything with it on Wattpad until now because I was hoping to finish it first, lest I commit the same cardinal sin of letting a book stay stagnant on Wattpad. However, it appears that Among the Trees is not going to wrap itself up anytime soon. I'm on the thirtieth chapter, with over two hundred and forty-five Word document pages, and nowhere near done. I can only get down on my knees and ask that you give it a go when it does come up. It's something different, and I am very afraid. It's a guess that perhaps it will not agree with all of you; and that's perfectly fine.
