-Chapter 12- Just Tell Me
-Niall's POV-
I really wanted to tell Lex that I liked her but I didn't know when I should. Before I could stop myself I spun her around and she stared straight into my eyes.
“I need to ask you something.” I said nervously. Maybe wasn't the time. I'll tell her tonight. Yeah that's what I'll do.
“Oh never mind, I forgot!” I said trying to sound lost.
“Are you sure...?”Lex asked eyeing me down.
“Yes, I'm positive let's go.” I said pulling her out the door.
Before I knew what was going on Lex's hand was ripped from mine and I tuned around as fast I could. There were three words I could use to describe the situation: Nicole and Addie. They tripped Lex and she was on the ground with her knees bleeding badly.
“What are you during here?” I asked them , picking Lex up as carefully as I could. Why are they so concerned with Lex's life?
“Niall we love you!” They said in unison pushing Lex back to the ground and hugged me.
“Oh, thanks.” I blushed. “But Lex and I have to go...” I really wanted to leave and I didn't want to be mean to them. Hannah and Grace saw Addie and Nicole so they ran out of the car and picked Lex up and brought her into the car.
“Okay fine, but if you need me then give me a call.” She slipped her phone number into my pocket and did something really unexpected. She started kissing me like she would never see me again. I was so surprised so I backed up and hit the car. I pushed her a little to make Nicole stop. She was definitely annoyed by this.
“What? You don't like me?” She literally screamed.
“No, no! That's not it! It's, I like someone else?”
“Okay, I see how it is! Bye Niall.” She said turning around but Addie made a phone signal lipping the words called me and then she walked away with Nicole. I shook my head a little and went into the car. Lex was surrounded by everyone and her face was turned into Louis' shirt. I guess she was crying. I crouched and wiggled my way to her and sat down next to her and placed me hand on her back. The whole ride there everyone was quite and it was really awkward.
“Wow, we are never quiet!” Liam shouted.
Everyone just turned to him and stared.
“What? It's true!” He admitted. His face was priceless and I couldn't help from laughing. I guess my laugh is contagious because everyone started laughing too, even Lex.
***Back after bowling
-Liam's POV-
“I'll get some ice for you love.” I offered to Lex. Her knees were all cut up and she said her head hurt so she lay down on the couch. I walked into the kitchen and saw Louis sitting there.
“Do you know what's wrong with Lex?” I asked opening the fridge.
“Yup.” He said eating a bowl of cereal.
“So what's wrong?”
“Oh she told me not to tell.”
“Well you can tell me, right?” I whined.
“Nope. I promised.” Louis said slowly. “Why don't you ask her yourself?”
“I will thank you very much.” I said pulling out frozen peas and closing the freezer door. I made my way to Lex and put the peas on her forehead.
“Hey Lex, how are you feeling?” I whispered quietly. It looked like she was sleeping so I decided to ask her tomorrow. When I was walking out of the room I tripped on something that usually doesn't belong on the ground. It was Niall. He was such a weird boy. I guess he fell asleep while watching TV. I turned it off and tried to figure out how to get Niall to his room.
“Louis!” I yelled and then covered my mouth suddenly remembering people were sleeping.
“Yeah!” He yelled back. I literally slapped my forehead.
“I need help.” I whispered.
“What Liam? I can't hear you!” Louis said screaming again. I took note that I should never ask Louis for help again. I walked into the kitchen and whispered,
“People are sleeping!”
“Oh yeah, you're right.” He said in a normal voice slapping my arm.
“Okay but anyway help me.”
After struggling to carry Niall up to his room I looked at Louis very seriously.
“What did I do to upset you this time?” Louis asked and sighed.
“oh nothing.” I simply replied.
“Then why are you staring at me?”
“Because I want you to tell me what's wrong with Lex.” I said sternly.
“Fine, only because it's best for her. Yeah so she has epilepsy.” Louis said like it was no big deal.
“What! Really?” I was shocked why did I not know this?
“Am I the only one who doesn't know?”
“Naw, just you and I know actually. She doesn't want to tell Niall yet.” Louis said turning to leave.
“Wait!” I said grabbing his arm. “Then why is she always tired?”
“Honestly, I don't know. She takes a lot of medications so maybe that's one of the side effects?” Louis shrugged.
Just then Lex walked up to the door.
“Hey guys, ummm.... oh yeah where is... umm?” and with that she just collapsed on the floor.
-Lex's POV-
***At the hospital
I woke up to this really cole feeling. That could only mean one thing- I was in the hospital again. I looked to my right and saw Niall with his head in his knees maybe sleeping.
“Niall?” I asked.
He looked up right away and ran to my side and kissed my forehead.
“You should of told me.” Niall said already starting to cry.
“Who told you?” I was starting to accuse Louis.
“The doctor did. He also told me that if I wasn't going to leave this room then I should let him know when you're up. So hold on.” He said leaving the room. Oh phew. He didn't know that I told Louis and not him. He came back with the doctor.
“Hi Lex. You're lucky you didn't have a seizure in front of people who weren't aware of your disease but you just passed out. They gave me your meds and I have some good and bad news. You don't need to take these because together they don't agree but the bad news is that you are going to have to take two different ones.”
“What are those for.” I said interrupting him.
“Well one is for epilepsy and the other is just to make sure fainting won't happen as often as it does.”
“Okay thanks, can I leave now?”
“Yeah here you go, and you may be drowsy and get headaches frequently so just be aware of that.”
“Got it. Thanks again” I said grabbing Niall's hand and the pills in the other. It's like we had an unofficial relationship. I kinda just shrugged that off.
“You scared me.” He said laughing at himself. “Why didn't you tell me?”
“Well, I guess I never found the right time to tell you, you know?” I asked looking up at him.
“Yes I get it.” He smiled putting his forehead against mine. “I guess I'm having the same problem.”
“What do you mean?” I was so confused.
“Well, I've been meaning to tell you something for awhile but I want to find the right time and I think now is.” Niall starting saying but was cut off.
“There you are Lex! How are you feeling babe?” Zayn said slinging his arm around my shoulder.
“Fine, nice of you to ask.” I said politely.
“Okay that's good. Not let's watch some Disney films!” He seemed so excited.
“Yeah good idea!” He grabbed me arm and ran with him. I turned back to Niall and shrugged. Hopefully he would understand. He was always trying to tell me something but never had the guts too. Whatever he is going to say must be important. I decided to let it off my mine and picked out a Disney film to watch with everyone on this rainy day.
Niall came into the room and I rested me head on his shoulder and let my eyes close shut.
I woke up to the sound of whispering.
“Just tell her!” Someone like Harry? Said.
“I can't! Something always comes up!”
“She up he said motioning towards me with his eyes.”
Niall spun too look at me.
“Good morning sleepy head.” He said kissing my forehead.
“Well good morning.” I said smiling. “I'm hungry can we make pancakes?” I asked hopefully.
“I'll make chocolate chip pancakes!” Harry offered and ran to the kitchen. Of course Niall followed. Wherever there is food, he is there.
Why can't he just talk to me? I'm starting to get mad. Why can't he just tell me?
