It was too much. Everything seemed to be spinning around Melody all at once. Voices, she heard voices. She tried to hear what they were saying, but they all were talking over each other. Some frantic, some calm, some happy, some angry. Some of them were screaming.
Melody looked around, everything was pitch black. She didn't remember when she got here. The last thing melody remembered was following Lance into the kitchen. There was suddenly a bright light, the voices stopping; she looked up. She saw the light, only for a second, before suddenly her head filled with memories. At least, that's what she thought they were.
She remembered family, a feeling of being loved. Sitting in the chilly morning with a boy, drinking tea. Playing in the oak trees surrounding a home. The feeling of being safe.
She remembered war. Gunshots, cannons, blood, hurt, and pain. She remembered the primal instinct to survive. Regret filled her mind, not being able to save someone dear.
She remembered fear. The fear of being alone. The fear of something. She didn't know that something, but it was strong.
Then, she felt pain. She looked and saw what seemed to be a large beast next to her. She looked around, there were 4 of them. Then 3. Then 5. Then 6. Then 9. Then 2. They were fading in and out of her vision, as though they were nothing but a broken image of what once was. Suddenly, in a flash of fur and claws. They lunged.
She felt her body being ripped into pieces. First her arm, she caught a glimpse of it lying on the ground next to her. Then it was her eye, she felt it fall down her cheek. Then her skin was ripped open from her chest. She tried screaming, nothing came out. She felt tears fall down her face, pain ripped through her. Unrelenting pain. After a minute, it all stopped.
Melody couldn't move her body for a good 5 minutes. Once she could, she stood up a little too fast. Her head pounding, she looked around. She was in a clearing, the same one she saw Vincent in. She looked at the sky, it kept changing from different shades of orange, to red, to pink, and back to orange again. Everything else was grey.
Melody looked directly in front of her, she saw Vincent staring at the sky, talking to what appeared to be himself. Without thinking, she ran to him. She tried to tackle him, but she phased through him, and suddenly she was plunging into darkness.
She looked down, seeing the white light. She was falling upwards. All of the emotions she felt before, the memories, the voices. They all came at her at once.
Melody woke up with a fright, she frantically looked around. She was back in the clearing. But this time, she was alone.
