Hannah's P.O.V.

So far Amanda had been pretty quiet about Cara. All she mentioned was that Charlie's dads were heading back to L.A. to prepare for their move to New York City and she would be heading back to L.A. a couple of days after them.

"Tell me everything and don't you dare skimp on the details," Amanda stated.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes as I took a sip of my green smoothie. "What do you want to know?"

"When did you and Miss I Don't Like People become an item?"

"We're not official yet," I said. "We just admitted our feelings for each other last night."

"More details," Amanda gestured with her hand for me to continue.

"Cara kissed me," I said, a giant smile on my lips.

"What!" Amanda's eyes widen in shock.

"Shhh," I whispered. Everyone at the restaurant was giving us weird looks.

"The girl that never been kissed before kissed you?" Amanda stared at me with such disbelief that it was like I told her that the sky was orange.

I nodded. I couldn't help but smirk because it felt like a little victory over Amanda.

"How was it?" Amanda questioned with her own smirk.

"I was too shocked to think at that moment." It was just a peck, but I wasn't going to tell her that.

"Do you know what was unbelievable? She said she wasn't physically attracted to anyone else but you." Amanda shook her head.

"She said that?" This day just gets better and better. I could feel my smile widening.

Amanda nodded while she took a sip of her ice tea. "Unbelievable. She's missing out on a lot of hot people."

"Thanks that makes me feel even better," I said as I glared at her.

"You two can't obviously be a long-lasting thing though," Amanda stated.

"Why not?" She was not going to try to ruin this for me. I will not let her.

"Yeah, she's cute now, but it's going to be frustrating later on," Amanda replied. "She's what, anti-social, a germaphobe and has no experience in love at all."

"Just because she has certain issues, doesn't mean anything," I said defensively.

"Seriously do you really want to be someone's first relationship? She would be so dependent on you," Amanda argued. "I'm just trying to play Devil's advocate here. I'm trying to look out for you."

"Well, it's not like I really have that much experience either," I admitted.

"What? You didn't go gay crazy in college?" Amanda stared at me in confusion.

"Who says that? Gay crazy?" I shook my head.

"I don't know," Amanda said with a shrug. "It's college. There's more freedom to be yourself."

"No, I was only in one relationship before," I explained. "One very messed up one."

"What happened?" Amanda stared at me with worried eyes. For the first time in a long time, she looked like an older sister to me.

"When I was nineteen, I met an older woman when I did one of my first big runway gig in Paris," I said. "I fell for her really hard and then I found out she was in an opened marriage with a man."

"And she didn't tell you any of this while you were together?" Her eyes narrowed, mouth open in shock.

I shook my head. "I heard rumors from some people about her husband, but I thought she was estranged since she didn't wear a ring. I was too caught up in my feelings for her to care."

"How did you find out that she was still actually married?"

"Her husband found us in bed together," I said grimly.

"Doing it?" Amanda's eyebrow rose.

"God no!" I could feel myself heat up at the thought of it. "We were just asleep."

"That's a new kind of low." Amanda shook her head, lips pursed together.

My hands were clasped around my smoothie as I nodded.

"What a bitch!" Amanda held onto the table cloth with a grip so tight that her knuckles turned white. "The first rule of an open relationship is to tell the outside person that you're in a fucking open relationship!"

"Please don't tell me that you know that from experience." The thought made me grimace.

"Kind of but I was with a couple," Amanda said casually. "It ended when they wanted me to become official with them. Can you imagine me bringing them home to mom and dad?"

"Not unless you wanted to kill them and tone it down a bit." I glanced around the restaurant hoping no one was paying attention to our conversation.

"Anyways what did she say after her husband showed up?"

"That her marriage is a priority and that what we had was just for fun," I said bitterly.

"I'm going to kick her ass if I ever see her," Amanda stated, eyes burning with fury.

"Please don't. I don't need you to get arrested," I said. "I saw her yesterday."

"Did you talk to her?"

"Yeah..." I wanted answers from her. I wanted an apology.

"What happened?" Amanda stared at me with wide eyes.

"She said she missed me and that she fell in love with me," I answered.

"Don't tell me you fell for that?" Amanda scoffed.

"No, of course not!" I bit my lips as I thought about the hotel card she gave me.

"Hannah Elizabeth Bailey, what are you hiding?" The way Amanda scolded me reminded me of our mother at that moment.

I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat as I reluctantly took out the card from my purse and handed it to Amanda.

"Dam, she must be rich!" Hannah inspected the card like it was some kind of diamond. "The Waldorf?"

"Her husband is some kind of rich German aristocrat," I explained.

Amanda let out a low whistle. "That is hard to compete with. Royalty and money."

"It's just a title it doesn't mean anything anymore," I said with disdain.

"I still can't believe you took this and still went on a date afterward."

"I don't know why I took it. I guess I felt weak since she was bringing back old feelings," I answered.

"She seems like a snake," Amanda said. "Don't fall for anything she says. She'll just hurt you again."

"I know better this time," I answered.

"The cute, OCD girl is a better choice," Amanda added.

"Yeah," I grinned wistfully. "I hope she is doing fine with Charlie."

"Charlie is a good boy, of course, she will be fine," Amanda reassured. "If she wasn't, she would have called by now."

"Yeah, you're right." I took a sip of my smoothie as I checked my phone for any messages from my agency or Cara.

"Let's talk about something more exciting," The playfulness was back in Amanda's eyes as she smirked at me. "Did you get anywhere with Cara?"

I almost choked on my smoothie as I quickly placed the glass back on the table, staring back at Amanda in shock.

"Or how many bases you got to?" She watched me with an amused grin.

"I'm not going to talk to you about that," I said bluntly.

"Why not? I would tell you about my sex life," Amanda replied with a shrug.

"Please do not!" My eyes widened in fear. I really did not want to hear it.

Amanda cackled with laughter at my reaction. "Come on Hannah banana, no need to be shy."

"I..I'm not. It's just weird," I said with disdain. "We don't need to know about each other's personal business."

"I can't imagine Cara wanting to go any further," Amanda stated causally. "She's too shy."

"I'm not going to push her into doing anything she's not ready for," I answered. I knew that Cara was still  uncomfrotable with taking anything further and I respect her choice. I was willing to wait for her.

"You are so patient," Amanda said. "Always such an angel."

"Not everyone is like you, who just does what they want without thinking about the consequences."  Ever since we were little, Amanda was always the rule breaker. She didn't like being told what to do. It was always her way or the high way. She got away with everything. Mom always favored her. She could never do anything wrong in our mom's eyes.

"I talked to dad earlier," Amanda said out of the blue.

"Okay."  I causally poked at my half eaten salad.

"He asked about you again," Amanda said slowly. "I told him you were doing great. He really misses you Hannah."

"Then why hasn't he reached out to me!" I could feel the anger and resentment rising in me.

"Hannah," Amanda said softly. "You know he's not great at communicating his feelings."

I bit my lips and nodded. Our dad was never the one to talk much. He was always silent and agreeble. I don't know if it was hard for him or not to live in a house full of women.

"They're getting older. Maybe you can extend a hand and reach out," Amanda suggested. "Be the bigger person."

I couldn't help but laugh. Amanda was giving me advice that didn't revolve around clothes or dating. I took a deep breath and nodded. "I'll try."

"What do you have plan for this week?  I wanted to spend the last couple days here with you," Amanda said.

"I have a fashion show tommorow for Fabio Garza," I said. "I'm free afterwards."

"Ooh I love him," Amanda said. "Can you get some free clothes?"

"I wish, but no." I said with a laugh.

"Okay, I'll meet you afterwards," Amanda agreed.

"I hope it's going to be okay," I said slowly.

Amanda arched an eyebrow at me. "Why? You've done this before."

"Adalene, my ex is going to be there," I said.

"Ignore her. She doesn't deserve a single second of your time."

I nodded in agreement.

"Tell that woman bye." Amanda took Adalene's card and did something I should have done, tore it apart.

"Let's get going, I'm still worried about Cara," I added.

                                                                                 *****

Once we got back to the apartment I didn't know what I would find.  I opened the door and saw Cara asleep on the sofa with Charlie laying against her chest. I couldn't help but smile at the sight.

"See they're fine," Amanda whispered to me as I gently shut the door behind us.

After removing my shoes, I walked slowly toward them and placed a kiss on Cara's forehead.

"Aren't you two cute," Amanda said beside me. "Wakey, wakey!" She clapped her hands together.

I flinched in shock while Charlie and Cara woke up, startled at the sound of Amanda's voice.

"What the hell is wrong with you!" I narrowed my eyes at Amanda.

Amanda flipped her hair at me and smiled. "It's how I wake Charlie up from his naps."

"Poor Charlie," Cara said with a grimace. She looked at Charlie who still clung on to her.

"Let's go, Charlie," Amanda cooed.

Charlie glanced at Cara and gave her a quick hug before getting off her and taking Amanda's hand.

"We must have fallen asleep," Cara stated with a yawn as she got up from the sofa.

"How was it?" Amanda said as she helped Charlie with his shoes.

"It was fine until he had to go to the bathroom," Cara said. "That was a nightmare. Jane and I freaked out. We basically ran around the apartment like chickens with their heads cut off."

"Who's Jane?" Amanda looked up at Cara while she tied Charlie's shoelaces.

"My agent. I asked her to help with Charlie since I was kind of nervous being alone with him," Cara replied sheepishly "I didn't know if Charlie was fully potty trained and I didn't want to interrupt your sister time by calling. Jane ended up calling a friend of hers and she talked us through it."

"That's nice of her," I said while Amanda nodded in agreement.

"I will see you tomorrow," Amanda said to me. "Charlie say goodbye to your aunties."

Charlie smiled brightly as he waved goodbye to us.

"Oh, do you know what Elufba is?" Cara questioned.

"Do you mean Elphaba?" Amanda answered in confusion. "The Wicked Witch."

"Okay, that makes sense now," Cara replied. "Charlie kept calling Jane that and now I see why. She was dressed in all black and she was carrying a broom."

"Elufba!" Charlie clapped his hands together excitedly.

"Clint loved the musical so that is why Charlie knows about her," Amanda explained, ruffling Charlies curly brown hair.

"I can see that now," Cara said.

"Okay time to go, Charlie has a plane to catch," Amanda said as she waved us goodbye.

"Bye," I said with a wave.

Cara closed the door behind them when they left. "Finally quiet time." She turned and looked at me with relief in her eyes.

I wrapped my arms around her. "We can have all the quiet time you want."

"I am so not ready to be a mom."  Cara placed her arms around my waist and laid her head against my chest.

"Maybe in the future," I joked.

Cara looked up at me. "Maybe. Girls will be fine, but boys are a lot complicated."

"Are they now?" I arched an eyebrow at her.

"It's easier to tell girls to sit on the toilet," Cara said bluntly.

I chuckled softly, hugging her tightly. "Other than watching Charlie, did you have a good morning?"

"Yeah I did a lot of writing," Cara said.

"On your story?" I let go of Cara. We both walked toward the living room and took a seat on the sofa.

"Yes, it's coming along nicely," Cara answered. "Jane also has a meeting with this production company that wants to turn my books into a television series."

"That's fantastic!" I could not be more prouder for her.

"Thank you, but I'm worried that they will change it," Cara stated.  "Not good change. Bad changes."

"Maybe you can work it out," I suggested. "There's certain contracts you can draw out."

"I might annoy them with my pickiness and my need for control." Cara laid her head on my shoulder.

"I'm sure something can be compromised. You have Jane and she's really good at what she does," I reassured her.

"You're like the optimism to my pessimism," Cara said with a grin.

"And together we make a good match," I added with a smile of my own.

"Does that mean...you're my girlfriend?" Cara asked in a voice so quiet that I could barely hear her.

"If you want me to be?"

Cara turned her head toward me and kissed me gently. "It was all I could think about all day."

"You sure how to make a girl feel special," I replied in a playful tone.

"Because you are. You're the only person that makes me feel things I've never felt before," Cara admitted. "I feel like I'm a book full of empty pages and you're the one who finally filled them."

I felt completely taken back by Cara's response. All I could think about doing was kissing her until she got tired of me.

*Author's note: I still can't believe how much this story has grown. I am completely thankful to everyone who gave this story a shot. I apologize for the long update. Work has been overwhelming and it has left me little time to write. Hopefully I can get back on schedule.
