Y/n POV
I was a crying mess. My boyfriend of 5 years just broke up with me. We broke up over text. I don't get it. What went wrong? I thought everything between us was going fine. He just texted me saying he didn't like me.
At the moment, the only person I can trust right now is my best friend, Rm.
We have been bestfriends for 6 years, way before my boyfriend was in the picture.
He has seen me at my high and lows, and we did everything together. But when my boyfriend came along, we hung out less and less frequently.
I decided to call him, hoping for some comfort from my best friend.
Before I even opened my mouth, Rm could tell something was wrong because he heard me crying.
"I will be over in 5 minutes, with ice cream."
Even though I broke up with my boyfriend, I still giggled. My best friend knew me too well.
In exactly 5 mins, (yes I was counting) Rm was on my front door with my favorite ice cream in his hands. One look at my face, and all his anger faded away and it turned to worry.
He invited himself in, and sat on the couch. I sat down with him. He was silent, probably waiting for me to talk first.
I drew in a shaky breath and said,
"He broke up with me, oppa."
"I am going to kill him.", he simply said.
"He just told me over text that he suddenly didn't like me anymore."
"Wow. That freaking jerk. The least he could've done was at least talked to you face to face. But just forget about him Y/n. Lets just eat some ice cream with movies, yeah?"
So that's how my night went. Me and my best friend on the couch, talking and eating ice cream and snacks.
(Time skip)
Next morning, I was on the couch with my head nuzzled in warmth. I quickly realized it was my best friend. We both fell asleep with a k-drama still playing on the tv.
As I eased my head away, Rm woke up.
"Oh I'm so sorry Y/n for falling asleep on your shoulder. Are you okay now?"
A light pinkish blush came across his face.
"You know Y/n, don't spend your whole life moping about that idiot. You need someone better."
"But the thing is, I really loved him. And I think I am fine just staying single for the rest of my life."
"Uhhhh Y/n c-can I tell you something?", he seemed really nervous.
"Sure what's up? You can tell me anything. We have been best friends for over 5 years anyway."
"Okay. Don't freak out though." He turned to me, and looked me straight in the eye.
"Uh, should I be worried?"
"No. I just wanted to s-say Y/n I-i like y-you."
That put me into complete shock and silence.
"O-oh."
Did I really like him? Did he like me enough? What if he feels pity for me?
He took my silence as a bad thing.
"Sorry. Just wanted to get that off my chest.", he awkwardly laughed.
"I'll go now."
He quickly got up from the couch, and left. I didn't anything do anything because I was still in thought. After about 3 minutes, that was when I realized that he already left.
I fell asleep for the rest of the day, Rm's confession still on my mind.
(Time skip again)
Again, I woke up on the couch with a sore neck. Just without my bestfriend this time. His confession came back to me. That was when I realized.
I loved my best friend.
