I slammed the door shut not caring of they hear it I sit on the bed looking at my hands then the door opens it's now the devil himself Marcus now that I know he's in on it I definitely don't trust him I can feel his eyes on me but I don't look up
"how much did you hear" he says all to calmly
"I don't know what your talking about" I tried to not say to much because that would just be telling on myself
"I heard you run and the door slam so how much did you hear" he says the last part bit by bit
"I didn't hear anything I was coming downstairs to- get something to drink my throat is dry" I say looking up at him hoping he believes it.
"And why is it so important that I don't hear anything?" He stays silent I've known him for a long time and I know for a fact if it's one thing he doesn't like it's me mad at him.
"So you lying to me too huh?" I say in a sad voice playing my innocents on him he inhales deeply
"I'm not lying to you-"
"lying keeping secrets the same thing" he breathes a frustrated sigh
"You know what the most fucked up thing is? I thought I could trust you out of all people I needed you right now and now that I know you're a liar-" he cuts me off
"dammit Adriana I'm not a liar! I want to tell you these things but non of us are sure how you'll take it" I look at him in confusion
"Take what you selling me to a complete stranger!?" I'm now standing up in front of him looking at him in anger he laughs at me
"I- what wait no one is selling you"
"then who the hell his Ares!?" He pauses and gets serious
"lie to me one more time and I swear" I say gritting my teeth and making my fist into a ball he looks at me in amusement
"Or what short stuff you gonna fight me?" He says chuckling in a fit of rage knowing the fact that he's not taking me seriously I push him and surprisingly this 220 pound 6'3 man goes flying into the wall I look at him in shock he groans and slowly gets up holding his hands into A surrender position and looks me in the eye
"Okay baby girl you need to calm down" he says in a calm voice I'm standing there like a doe in headlights looking at my hands then back at him a smile creeps across my face he must've known what I was thinking because he quickly grabs me carrying me downstairs I didn't scream and I didn't fight he sits me down in a living room chair where my parents are currently sitting they look at me and I look at them both of us not saying anything
Marcus looks worried.
"look something happened and I thought it was gonna activate the night of her moon but it's happening now we need to do something" I look at him
"Please for the sake of the Lord tell me what is going on I'm sick of this" in say in a sigh that's when they turn to me
"Look honey we're about to tell you the truth and no matter what happens if you choose to hate us which would be understandable we love you so much" my dad says with tears uncontrollably pouring out of his eyes I've only seen him cry once and that's when grandma died I didn't say anything waiting for them to carry on my mom is crying too it must be serious
"We are not your parent's" he says looking at me with sadness I couldn't believe my ears
"Wait what that doesn't make any sense" I say looking at them tears starting to flow from me as well
"I look just like the both of you wh-" I couldn't finish my words for silently crying "when you were born you got sent to us so we could look over you and protect you until it was time to let you go you don't solely belong to us and it's time to go back to where you belong" I open my mouth to say something but nothing comes out
"You are a very special being that's why we have to protect you remember when you were a little girl and you'd always ask me about the marks in the middle of your Palm and I told you it was a birthmark?" I look at him in disbelief
"y-yes" I gulped
"You've been marked by the gods you do have biological parents they know who you are and they love you so much but they couldn't keep you at the time because there was a war going on a war for you once everyone in the heavens and the underworld found out you existed they would've done anything they could to harm you or make your theirs"
"why?" i ask
"Because of who your parent's are two of the most powerful most hated God's make powerful offspring" I laugh out of nowhere
"what are all of you smoking?" they all have serious faces
"look if this is a prank you can stop now~" they look at each other then back at me
"it's getting dark the moon is coming" Marcus says looking out the window
"what does that have to do with anything?" I ask looking out at the moon.
"if we don't have enough time to tell you you'd find out either way" my mom says
"you've always been gifted but on the night of your 18th birthday it fully activates it's happened to all of us in this room" I look at her
"you have powers too?" I ask shocked
"well yes you didn't think mortals alone could do the job of protecting the most wanted immortal from the heaven's did you" my eye's widened
"show me!" Without another word she makes the vase next to me explode into pieces
"can i do that too?"
"you can do everything" but the one question they just won't seem to answer pops into the back of my head again
