See you tomorrow, Y/N!" Yuri waved her hand cheerfully as we were saying goodbye in front of the university building. I waved back at her, giving her a warm smile.

It was a nice spring evening and the sun was just starting to set behind the horizon. I raised my head and took a look at the beautiful pink and red nuances in the sky, forming a breathtaking view that would stay the same only for a few more moments.

My phone buzzed in my bag and I took it out.

Taehyung:

My last class started late. I won't be able to pick you up. So sorry. Meet you back at your place?

I gave out an exasperated sigh. My apartment was nowhere near the university and Celine had mysteriously bolted on me again on what I suspected to be a date with Jimin, so it looked like I'd have to walk home alone.

As my thoughts raced through my brain, my phone buzzed a second time.

Taehyung:

I miss you.

My lips curled up in a little smile, all of my frustration fading away at once.

Oh well, the weather's nice anyway so I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a little walk. I'll just plug in my earphones and put on some music and be home in no time.

Just as I started typing back "I miss you too" to Taehyung, my phone was rude enough to announce that my battery was running low and without giving me any time to complete my message, it turned off.

"Damn it." I cursed quietly, rolling my eyes.

So I guess no music for me then. I threw my phone back in my bag and picked up my pace, the light chilly breeze piercing through my thin blouse. It was starting to get darker by the minute, so I had to hurry up if I wanted to make it back at home in time.

It was a Friday evening so everyone was eager to go home as soon as possible to prepare for a weekend trip and take advantage of the nice weather. The streets were almost empty, only a car or two passed me by as I was walking energetically on the pavement, the heavy bags in my back starting to wear me down.

The shops and restaurants that I was passing by were starting to close already, the owners and employees probably couldn't wait to have a good rest after working all week.

Suddenly I thought of a bakery just around the corner that had the most amazing cupcakes. If I picked up my pace and changed my route a little bit perhaps I would be able to catch them just before closing and pick up some cupcakes for Taehyung.

I smiled at the thought of making him happy.

With my new set goal, I made a shortcut towards a narrow street. I had never passed through there but I was fairly certain it would take me where I wanted to be.

As I was imagining the divine taste of the cupcakes I was about to purchase, I couldn't help but hear distant steps behind me. This wasn't a busy street, so it instantly made an impression on me, but I tried to shake it off and not think too much about it.

I instinctively started walking slightly faster, clutching on my bag. This wasn't a bad neighborhood, I tried to reassure myself, but my mind was on alert.

I made an attempt to chase the bad thoughts away, but the sound of steps was becoming louder and louder. Whoever it was that was walking behind me, they were trying to align their speed with mine. My heart started jumping in my chest. Too scared to turn around, I make a sharp turn behind a corner, praying to all the gods that the footsteps stop.

But they don't. Instead, they come even closer.

Now I know I'm being followed.

I push my body into a slight jog, now completely terrified. My mind is instantly flooded by memories of Jaebum and his threats.

"God knows what happens to pretty little girls in dark alleys." He said.

Oh God, this is how I die.

I gather every drop of strength I have to turn my head around, glancing behind my shoulder while still walking fast.

The alley is completely empty except for a tall dark figure that I determine as a male. It's absolutely impossible for me to recognize them with their dark baggy clothes and a black hoodie over their head, hiding their face.

He does resemble Jaebum. He's about the same height and he walks the same way.

The dim street lights don't offer me any help since it's almost dark now and their light is far too weak to illuminate the stranger's identity.

I don't know where I'm headed to. Anywhere is better than the unknown dim alleys that I'm now sprinting through. I glance over my shoulder once again. The stranger has broken into a sprint as well, not even being subtle about it anymore.

My mind frantically searches for a way out. Maybe, just maybe if I start running on full speed I could outrun him.

But I've never been a runner. And judging by how much time Jaebum spent in the fitness, I guess it would be far too easy for him to get to me.

Perhaps if I scream my lungs out someone could come to my rescue, I think full of hope, but this street is so far away from the busy boulevards that I feared no one would hear my voice.

Damn, if only my phone battery hadn't died. I cursed myself internally for never charging it to the fullest.

The overwhelming fear washes over me like a wave and my fight or flight mechanism finally activates towards the latter. I start running as fast as I can, my legs trembling. The terrifying shadow mirrors my movements and is now coming closer and closer with enviable speed.

"Oh God, please no, please no," I scream internally, afraid that my limbs would betray me any minute now and I'll crumble down on the ground crippled by this overwhelming panic, defenseless as a sacrificial lamb.

He's close now, I can feel it. I can even hear him panting behind me, that's how close he is.

There's no escaping now.

God, how I wish I kept a knife in my bag.

I push myself to my limit, praying to every god there is that someone comes to my rescue.

I know that I won't make it. This is the end for me.

The familiar cold rough grasp around my upper-arm cuts off all the blood flooding towards my brain, making me almost faint out of fear.

The stranger pulls me back by the arm and I almost fall down, but oddly enough, he picks me up, helping me to regain my balance.

His hand still on my arm, I turn around to face my inevitable fate.

But it's not who I thought it would be.

A sharp gasp escapes my lips and I choke on my words, completely incapable to make a sound.

His facial features are almost indistinguishable, but there's no way I could mistake his eyes. His deep doe hazelnut eyes that I've drown in so many times, intoxicated by my love for him. His long eyelashes, encircling his mesmerizing gaze. His pink soft lips that have traced the skin on my body so many times, making me shudder in pleasure.

Before me stood the man I had just started to accept I was never going to see again.

"Y/N." He breathes out my name and makes my skin bristle. The way he pronounces it in his ruff and hoarse voice makes my stomach turn upside down.

I blink multiple times to make sure I'm not dreaming.

"Jungkook?"
