Charlene’s POV
“Niall I think I’m going to go to bed, have an early night you know” I say as I feel the night breeze blow against my skin as Niall and I sit outside my door step.
“But it’s only 9:30pm and you’ve been asleep all day, how can you be tired?” he chuckles, turning his face to smile at me.
“What?” I stand up completely shocked, how did he know I was asleep all day?
“Why did you say what?”
“You….you just, how did you know I was asleep all day, and you seemed to know I was crying yesterday too. This is weird, how would you know this?” I stutter, pointing my finger towards him.
“I just know, you know” he’s still sitting there, just shrugging his shoulders as he speaks.
“You knocked at my door on cue, like just as I got up” I start smiling, even though I’m confused, but sure I’m being paranoid about the whole situation.
“Good timing I guess” he smiles back, looking up at me from where he’s sat.
“Ha-ha yes I guess” I laugh feeling stupid for almost blaming him for knowing something that is a common thing to say to people.
“Where are you staying tonight?” I question.
“Erm I’m not sure, probably go home and watch TV until I fall asleep” He says sounding slightly sad.
“Come in.” I say.
“What?” Now he’s the confused one.
“Come in, we can have a sleep over tonight” I say excited about having a sleep over, the first one I’ve had in ages.
“Where will I sleep?” He smiles.
“In my bed”
“Your bed?”
“Yes, it’s huge. We’re friends Niall, nothing’s going to happen, I promise”
“Are you sure, what about Harry? What if he sees this?”
“How will he see this?” I become confused again, placing my hands on my hip.
“He might think differently, like misunderstand our sleepover”
“Harry will understand, we are friends Niall, please. I don’t want you going home worried about me, now come on” I plead.
“Fine” he gets up and pushes my front door open, since it was just on the latch.
“Ladies first” he holds the door open, gesturing for me to enter.

“Which side do you sleep on?” Niall asks when we enter my bedroom.
“I’m surprised you didn’t already know that one, since you seem to know a lot” I sarcastically speak. He just smiles back.
“I sleep on any side; you can choose what side you want to sleep on, Niall”
“Thanks” He says before he walks over to the bed he starts to take his shoes off to sit down.
“I’m just going in the bathroom to get changes, won’t be a minute.” I tell Niall as I walk in to get changed into my pyjamas.
“Ready!” I say as I step out of my bathroom and into my bedroom. Niall is sitting on the left side of the bed topless with the covers over him. I hope he isn’t naked or this would be a different kind of sleepover. Not the type I would have with my friend. The only type I would have with Harry.
“Oh, nice,” he glances over from his phone that he’s scrolling through; he’s probably on Twitter knowing him. “Very baggy indeed” he states looking me up and down. I’m wearing grey pyjama pants that are about 2 sizes too big, the ones my mother bought me for Christmas last year. But I do like them, with the matching grey pyjama top I’m wearing with a mini bow in the middle, cute.
“Are you tired? We can watch a movie if you want?” I ask him.
“Erm…what movies you got?” Niall put’s his phone down on the table next to my bed.
“Not very many and I’m not sure if you’ll like them to be honest.”
“Why’s that?”
“Because they’re all romantic type of films”
“I like romantic type of films, I’m a very romantic man” he says, making me laugh.
I lift my box of DVD onto the bed letting Niall chose out of the box.
“Ooh what’s this one about?” he questions.
“That’s ‘Leap Year’ it’s about a woman wanting to propose to her husband on a leap year, but the whole film turns out she doesn’t want to marry him after all. Oh and she has to travel to Dublin in the movie as well” I tell Niall.
“Dublin? Well I picked a great movie here; they go to Ireland the best place in the world” He expresses excitedly making me laugh.
“It’s actually one of my favourite movies” I smile widely.
“Put it on, put it one! I have to watch it now!” He starts to become hyper almost jumping around the bed as I walk over to put the DVD on.
“I’m glad I have you Niall, you’re an amazing friend and have great taste in movies” I smile as I walk to sit in the bed next to him.
“Niall, in this movie it says that, according to Irish tradition, a man who receives a marriage proposal on a leap day must accept it. Is that true?” I ask curious.
“You’ve asked the right man here, yes, because of the tradition” He smiles at me.
“That’s interesting” I turn my lips into an upside down smirk and nod my head.
“Oh, she has red hair like you as well” He says when the female lead character comes on the screen.
“She does” I agree with him.
“Do you want a drink or some food maybe?” I ask Niall.
“Yeah, what you got?”
“Come downstairs, I’ll pause the movie. Well raid the fridge of the entire snacks and bring them up here.” I say getting out the bed before pausing the DVD with the remote.

We arrive at my kitchen and nobody in my house is downstairs now, they must have all went to bed.
“Here’s the popcorn” I tell Niall before retrieving a large bowl out of the cupboard and pouring the popcorn in.
“You can look in the fridge” I say to Niall and he opens it and takes out the 1 litre lemonade bottle and 2 water bottles.
“You have loads of water in there” he states, talking about the bottles of water I have in the fridge.
“That’s because I only really drink water,” I smile. “There’s milkshake, beer and alcohol in there if you prefer.”
“Nah, I’ll stick to the water”
“You got the lemonade out though”
“I know, I didn’t know what to get sorry” he stutters.
“Oh no it’s fine, I’ll have some lemonade, and it’s my other favourite drink besides water and banana milkshake,” I say as I take the lemonade out of his hands. “Thank you Niall.”
I walk over the cupboard after pouring out my lemonade and get some crisps out, Doritos.
“Doritos, I love those crisps” Niall eagerly says, before I throw the crisps to him.
“Should we make some pizza?” I ask him.
“Hell yeah!”
Niall gets the pizza out of the freezer and passes it to me and I put it in the oven.
“We have to wait 20 minutes for it to cook, should we go and watch the rest of the movie while it cooks?”
“Yeah, come on” he says before picking up the drinks and I carry the food back up.

We arrive back in the bedroom placing all the food and drinks in the middle of the bed, I un pause the DVD and we start watching Leap Year again.
“I love Oreo’s!” Niall says before eating one of the biscuits.
“Me too, we should have got milk to dip it in”
“We should have, it doesn’t matter now, and we’ve got all this water to drink” he says making me laugh.
I start to feel tired throughout the movie and close my eyes for a minute. Harry appears in my mind. I wonder what he’s doing now. Niall said he’s back home. I wonder if he’s even went to bed, because he always stays up late when he’s with me. I wish he was here at this sleepover with Niall and I it would have been so much fun. But then Niall would have felt like the third wheel because Harry and I wouldn’t be sleeping at a sleepover and any movie that would be on would be ignored and be playing in the background.
“What’s that? Something’s burning” I shoot up.
“Shit!” Niall curses.
“THE PIZZA!” We both shout at the same time looking at each other.

“It’s only slightly burned” Niall says as he lifts it out of the oven.
“Slightly? It’s burned to a cinder by the looks of things” I announce. The pizza was like a pile of ashes.
“Mmm yummy Pizza” Niall sarcastically says.
“You aren’t eating it Niall” I say before taking it out of his hands and throwing it in the bin.
“Awe, poor pizza” He pouts his lips looking towards the bin where I just threw the pizza.
“We can order one if you like?”
“No it’s fine, let’s go and watch that movie, I need to see what happens.”
“Same, even though I’ve watched it a million times” I laugh before exiting the kitchen with him.

We return back to the bedroom and I find the popcorn is spilt all over my bed.
“Oops!” I say before Niall and I start laughing at the mess I made when I jumped up earlier.
“I’ll clean it up”
“No just-…..” I trail off “What are you doing?” I question Niall.
“Cleaning it up” he says.
“Like that?”
“Yeah” he says as he eats the popcorn up off the bed.
Before I know it the mess it’s all cleaned up and there is also no popcorn left because Niall just ate it all in the cleaning process.
We lay back down on the bed and proceed in watching the movie again.
“This movie is great” I hear Niall say, but I’m too tired to respond.
“Hey, you awake?” he nudges my shoulder.
“What? Yeah sure, you were saying?” I open my eyes, not realising I was drifting off to sleep.
“I was saying this movie is great. Charlene you can go to sleep, but at least say goodnight, I was talking to myself there, didn’t know you sleeping, and people would think I’d gone metal.” He speaks, his accent laced with sleep.
“You are mental” I smile lazily because of how tired I am.
“Well, ya know how it is, I’m Irish”
“Goodnight Niall” I say leaving him awake to watch the rest of the movie.
“Goodnight Charlene” I hear him say, before I drift off to sleep and all of my thoughts go back to being consumed with Harry.
