// Lindy’s POV //

I walked out of my closet, wearing the birthday dress my mom decided to buy for me. I grabbed my black heels from the closet, while setting them in front of me. I sighed, as I finally slipped my feet slowly in the expensive black shoes. Once they were finally secured on my feet, I stood up slowly. I walked slowly to my mirror, careful not to fall on my face. I looked at my reflection, smiling at the birthday girl. My hair was in elegant curls, which fell in front of my chest perfectly. My makeup was done by Lizzie, making my eyes pop out more than usual. My dress was a lace, cream colored, sleeveless dress. To add a bit of my style to the dress, I added a dark brown belt to make it stand out. I smiled and then frowned again, remembering Harry ignoring me.

What’s gotten into him? Did I do something wrong?

I walked out of my bedroom, getting ready to walk down the wooden stairs. I heard everyone talking loudly downstairs and then stop as soon as I was making my way down the stairs. I put on my best believable smile, while holding onto the stair rail. My mom took out her camera, taking a million pictures a minute. Lizzie was smiling, while taking a video of me walking. Harry had his hands in his pocket, not looking at me. My smile fade, but I kept smiling for the pictures and videos. Once I reached the last step, my mom hugged me tightly, not letting me go.

“My God! You look beautiful, darling!” She exclaimed, making me twirl in a circle for her.

I shyly smiled, glancing over at Harry a lot of times. He wasn’t joining our conversation. He was just standing a couple feet away, keeping his hands in his pockets and staring at my carpet. I left my mom’s grip, leaving her to go to the kitchen and set up the cake. I went up to Harry, tugging on his white buttoned up shirt. I smiled at him, hoping that I was just wrong about him being upset with me. He looked at me, mumbling, “Nice dress.” I shrugged, looking down at the expensive lacey cloth hugging my body. I grabbed his hand, squeezing it to make him smile. His lips didn’t move at all. He just kept his lips in a straight thin line, not bothering to hold my hand. I let go of his hand, eyeing the curly haired boy.

“Okay, what’s going on, Harry?” I asked, desperate to know why his mood changed dramatically while I showered.

“Oh, so now you care. What do you want from me?” He coldly responded, leaving me alone in the living room.

I didn’t bother to look back. My chest tightened and my throat burned. Is it possible for guys to get their period too? I was about to walk back and chase after Harry, until the doorbell starting ringing a dozen times a minute. I groaned, quickly walking to the front door. I looked in the peephole, seeing Louis and the rest of the gang behind him, grinning. I smiled, quickly unlocking the door. Once the door opened, a burst of noise exploded in my house. All of us got in a group hug, squeezing me until my sides hurt.

“What are you guys doing here?!” I exclaimed in surprise in between our hug.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDY!” Everyone yelled.

I guess that explains that. I giggled, hugging everyone individually now. Niall took out a bunch of party blowers, making a ton of noises for the whole neighborhood to hear.

“Bring on the drinks!” Zayn and Niall cheered, while blowing into their party bowers.

I turned to them, giving them a look. They understood the message I was giving them, their grins fading. They sighed, now putting the cooler full of beer away. I smiled, feeling successful with myself.

“Looks like we’ll just have soda and juice. . . “ They muttered to themselves, while putting the cooler away back in the van.

Eleanor, Danielle, and Perrie looked at me, admiring my dress. They were in love with my dress as much as I was. When Zayn and Niall came back, they returned with bags and boxes from the van. I gasped, asking what all of them were for. They looked at me like I was dumb, while settling them on the ground.

“Your presents of course, dummy!” Perrie explained, nudging my side.

I shook my head, not believing at all the presents they got me. Harry came back in the living room, investigating on all the noise, followed by my mom and Lizzie.

“Harry!” They all yelled, running over to the boy.

I stayed put, rubbing my arms. I knew he was upset with me, I just didn’t know why. I left the living room, entering the kitchen. Right before I entered the kitchen, I grabbed Lizzie’s arm. She followed me behind, while I dragged her with me.

“What’s up?” She asked, while setting up the plates for everyone.

The clanking of the plates and utensils were the only things I could hear in the kitchen.

“Something’s wrong with Harry. He’s not talking to me and he’s upset with me.” I sighed, while sitting down on the counter next to the sink.

Lizzie looked up from the tower of plates and utensils. She shrugged and then went back to what she was doing.

“Do you know what could be wrong with him? Did I do something wrong?” I asked her, knowing she wouldn’t have the answer to it.

She sighed, standing up with the tower of plates in hand.

“Listen I don’t know. I don’t know everything, okay.” She simply responded, getting ready to leave the kitchen.

I frowned, quickly jumping off the counter. I grabbed her shoulder to stop her from leaving.

“You must at least have an idea. I know you, Liz. You know a lot of things about everyone. Please.”

She froze, her back turned against me. She shrugged off my hand, taking a few steps forward.

She turned her head to her shoulder, “Stop taking things that aren’t yours.”

And with that, she left me alone in the kitchen. I frowned, confused once again.

// Harry’s POV //

I sat down on the table, with everyone else, getting ready to chow down on the delicious dinner in front of us. Lindy was the last one to come sit down with us. I glanced up at her, noticing her sad eyes. I felt bad for the way I was acting, but now I can’t help, but wonder why I got so upset. Honestly, she did look beautiful. She was stunning actually. The dress was perfect for her and I tried to keep my eyes off her. But, I couldn't help it, I was dying to get hr out of that dress. The only way to keep me from falling back into her hands like old times, is to surround myself with food.

Once everyone was settled in their seats, everyone was talking except for me, Lindy, and Lizzie. The others didn’t seem to notice our lack of talking. After our hearty dinner, we gathered in the living room to talk and such. I picked up my plate and followed Lindy’s mum to the kitchen. I placed it in the sink and was headed upstairs. I was on my way to the bathroom to freshen up, but was stopped by someone calling my name.

“Harry?”

I turned around to see Lizzie, nervously walking over to me. I nodded towards her, acknowledging her presence. I held onto the door handle, waiting for her to continue on with what she wanted to say.

“Can I talk to you?”

I let go of the door handle, turning to her to give her my full attention. She walked closer to me, holding her hands in front of her, showing off the gold charm bracelet that was Lindy’s. Or should I say, now Lizzie’s bracelet.

“Um… “ She started off saying, but was cut off by Niall running up the stairs.

“Oh, hey guys!” He greeted us.

He glanced at Liz twice, and then opened his mouth to say something.

“Liz, I have that charm bracelet you wanted me to order for Lindy. Y’know to replace the one she broke a couple days ago.” Niall informed her.

I blinked twice, making sure I heard him right. What was going on? New bracelet? I turned to Lizzie, seeing her get nervous and refuse to look at any of us. Finally, all the pieces fit together and I understood everything now. Lizzie lied to me and took the bracelet for herself. She asked Niall to order another charm bracelet to replace the one she took and make it seem like Lindy didn’t care for it at all. That explained why she was so confused about me being upset with her. I must’ve acted like a complete jerk to her.

“Lizzie, why did you do that?!” I raised my voice, turning to the blonde girl.

She bit her lip, her cheeks turning red in embarrassment. Niall was looking at us both, a confused and bewildered expression spread across his face. Liz clenched her fists, looking down at the ground.

“Okay it’s true. I did take it from Lindy, when no one was looking. I didn’t want her to have it.” She admitted, her body shaking.

My heart started beating quickly, making me panic.

I walked up to her, asking, “Why?!”

Tears were falling from her eyes, holding onto the wrist where the bracelet was on. She backed away from us, scared that our yelling could be heard from downstairs.

“Because! You’ve never done this for a girl before and I didn’t want it to be Lindy! I wanted it to be me! It’s not fair!” Her shaky voice said.

Niall backed away, mumbling to himself, “I’ll be downstairs. I think they have extra biscuits...“

He ran downstairs, trying to keep his cool so no one would question him. I turned back to Lizzie, shaking my head in disappointment.

“I’m sorry. I just was jealous because of how close you two were getting. I wanted it to be me because I’m in love with you.” She admitted, her breathing slowing down.

I exhaled softly, walking towards her. I put my hand on her shoulder, looking at her sadly. She shook her head, shutting her eyes.

“I’m sorry too.” I started saying. She looked up at me, tears slowly falling down her cheek.

“I’m sorry I don’t share the same feelings as you. I like you, but as a good friend. You were my childhood friend and I’d like to keep it that way. You know that I love Lindy a lot.”

She nodded slowly after a couple of agonizing seconds. She weakly smiled, removing the hand off her shoulder.

“I knew that already. I just couldn’t bring myself to believe it. It’s okay, Harry. I just needed to hear it from you. I know there was no chance of you liking me back was there?” She said to me softly.

She sounded so small, I felt bad for her. I didn’t know that she liked me all these years and I haven’t talked to her in years. Yet, she still had those feelings for me

“But, now that I know the truth, I can move on with my life. I can move forward now and see Lindy again with a smile. So, thank you, Harry.” She finished off with a genuine smile.

I smiled back and gave her a hug. I patted her head playfully, now getting ready to apologize on my knees to Lindy.

// Lizzie’s POV //

Harry passed by me, probably going over to talk things out with Lindy. I sighed, brushing a piece of loose hair away from my face. I crossed my arms, letting out a huge sigh.

“That was quite a bold step you took there.” A strong Irish voice said from behind me.

I turned around quickly to see Niall walking over to me. I shrugged, acting like it was no big deal. But, in reality, my heart was torn. At least I knew the truth and I could move on.

“Oh well. Not my fault that Harry has bad taste. But, now I can be truly happy for Lindy and him. I’m going to find someone else eventually.” I said, keeping my head held high.

The next thing the blondie said caught me off guard.

“Why don’t you just cry like you want to? Just let all your feelings out now. It’s unhealthy to keep it to yourself and all bottled up.” He said, coming closer to me.

He put his hand on my cheek, caressing me gently. I shut my eyes, knowing he was right. And right away, the water works poured out. He shushed me, holding my head in his shoulder. I couldn't help, but fall apart in front of him. It hurt so much and I just wanted it to go away. I really loved Harry, but I knew deep down inside we didn't fit for each other.

Goodbye My First Love.

// Lindy’s POV //

I walked downstairs to my basement, carrying all my presents by myself. Everyone was busy partying and dancing along to the music. My mother left the house to stay over at her friend’s house because she knew everyone would be sleeping over and would have some bonding time. I’m glad she left honestly, not in a bad way though. It’s just if she stayed, she wouldn’t be able to sleep until 6AM and she would be very cranky. I settled all my presents on the floor with a slight thud. I clasped my hands together, happy that I finally got that over with. Now, that I realized no one has seen Niall and Lizzie in a while. Eleanor and Louis began to think that they would start going out. I would have to agree with that. They would look cute together to be honest.

I walked around, moving some furniture around. After that, I finally rested on the couch. I extended my legs on the other side of the couch, resting my feet on some pillows. I heard soft piano music playing all of a sudden, causing me to get confused. I looked up to see the familiar mop head of curls walking towards me. He walked slowly to me, carrying a rose in one hand, and a small black box in another. I sat up straight, crossing my arms in front of me in defense. He set the 2 items on the table in front of me, sitting down on top of me. I started groaning, trying to stop myself from giggling. I was still mad at him; I didn’t want him to think that I forgive easy. He turned to face me, grabbing my face and kissing my lips over and over again.

“I’m so so so so so so so so sorry.” He mumbled between every kiss.

I finally gave in and started smiling like an idiot. He pulled me up with him as he stood up. He kissed me harder and I melted right into a puddle. I felt my knees get weak and I held onto his shoulders for support. HIs hands traveled down my waist and hips towards my bum. I smiled into the kiss as I pushed my hands through his curls. I softly bit his lip in the kiss and loved the sound of his low moan. I liked the idea that I could get him turned on as much as he turned me on. The pit of my stomach was burning just to have him all to myself. Finally, Harry growled at me as he started leaving tiny love bites on my neck. I moaned and tried to keep it as quiet as possible. I turned my head and started kissing his soft lips again. I felt his hands firmly grasp my bum as I wrapped my legs around his torso. My hands pulled on his hair and he groaned into my lips. Before things got way too steamy, I turned my head to break away from the kiss. He sighed, kissing my nose and hugging me tightly.

“I’m sorry.” He said once again for the millionth time.

I half smiled, giving him a questioning look.

“Wanna tell me why you were so bipolar today? Especially on someone's specific birthday?” I asked, poking his ribcage.

He looked away and pushed his curls back. I scooted closer to him, putting my hands on his hands. He reached out for the table, grabbing the black box. He opened it and showed the golden charm bracelet that was on Liz’s wrist.

“Wha-“ I started to say, until Harry put his finger on my lips.

His eyes were bright as ever and didn’t leave from my own.

“I think you should talk to Lizzie about this.” He informed me, while putting his hand on my cheek.
