“Finn, wait. Please” I yelled as I watched him walk out of my life. This time I think it was for good. I picked up all of my courage and ran after him. I grabbed ahold of his arm and made him stop.
“Listen to me” I said, getting angry at him “If you leave this time, its for good. You will no longer be in my life.”
“Good riddance” he said, shaking his arm and spitting at my feet. He walked away and left me on the street alone. That was it, I thought, he’s gone for good. There on the street, I sat down and wrapped my arms around myself. It felt so lonely without him. It’s not like I’ve never felt lonely before though. I got up off the street and trudged home.
“I’m home” I yelled, expecting my mom to answer. I walked into the kitchen to see a letter attached to the fridge.
Had to go back to work. There’s mac and cheese in the fridge that you can have for supper. Sorry hun, Love Mom
Of course, I thought to myself. Right at that moment, my cell started to ring. Abby was calling.
“Hello” I said.
“Hey girlie, so what are you doing tonight.”
“Nothing, my mom went back to work.”
“Ok good, how about you come to my house for a sleepover” she said sounding excited.
“You do realize we’re 17, not 12 year olds right?”
“Yeah, so?” she said, getting irritated.
“Fine” I said, not wanting her to beg. I heard her squeal in the background.
“Good, be here around 7” she said before hanging up.
I did the same and looked at the clock. It was almost 6:30. I really didn’t have to get ready so I decided to just leave now. Since it was just going to be a sleepover I stayed in my grey knit sweater and maroon skinnies. My hair was naturally wavy and came down almost to my waist. I left it down because it was looking surprisingly good today. Abby didn’t live very far and I decided to ride my bike there. I’d call my mom later and tell her where I was. When I arrived at Abby's house I realized she lied to me. It was a party just not the kind I expected to be going to.
