L has finally given in to my very subtle suggestions of having two king-sized beds in the same room for all of us couples.
Misa is very excited.
So am I.
We're kind of friends now.
She says she can understand why I slapped Light in the face because she would have done the same in my situation.
Except if she slapped L in the face she wouldn't be alive to tell the tale.
I would have made her into meatballs.
And fried her with onions.
And then eaten her with ketchup.
Mmmmm...

There's no room service.
There is Watari...
But he isn't overpriced so I don't get to feel rich.
It's late now and nothing's happened today other than more work on the files and information of everyone involved at Yotsuba.
I'm pretty sure tomorrow Mr Yagami discovers the killings are all at weekends or something...
Yeah, I'm tired sooo...
"I'm gonna go to bed," I say, rising from my chair and making my way up the stairs.
"Goodnight," L calls up uncertainly.
"What do you mean, goodnight?" Light begins, exasperated. "I need sleep too, you know!"
"Later..." L mutters.
Light stands up and attempts to drag L along with him.
His chair rolls out from under the desk and he jumps off it hastily.
I head up the stairs to my floor to grab my pink pyjamas.
I'll get Misa afterwards.
She's not allowed out of her room on her own.
Misa's pyjamas are black.
OoOooOoh dodgy.
"They are so cute!" Misa twirls me around. "Do you think Light will think mine are cute too?"
"Yeah," I say, "you look... DESIRABLE." I choose my words carefully.
Misa and I head to the third floor through in the lift.
I stare at my reflection in the mirror.
Compared to Misa, I actually look...
sAnE.
But not as adorable.
She's like... anime adorable.
I'm dodgy creepy adorable.
Misa JUMPS into bed with Light once we arrive in the room. "I'M SO EXCITED! THIS IS LIKE A MASSIVE SLEEPOVER!" she squeals.
I'm tiredddd...
I keep having more weird dreams, and sometimes this key hurts me.
Oh, if you're wondering how I hide it from everyone else, the answer is simple: I don't.
I just have my hair down all the time to hide the fact it comes out of my neck and sucks my blood.
Sort of...
Anyway, it's just a necklace to them.
The key is not bigger than your own front door key.
I crawl into the covers and wriggle down to the bottom of the bed.
L won't find me here.
I begin to suffocate.
Misa is still giggling.
I feel bad for Light.
I stop hiding under the covers to breathe.
"I'm tired Misa," I say. "Light and L have important work to do tomorrow, let's get some sleep."
Misa buys it.
"OH! Yeah!" She snuggles under the duvet with Light. "Goodnight!"
Light tries to remain unfazed.
He looks super awkward.
Oh well.
His problem, not mine...
I have enough problems.
The chain connecting L and Light jingles slightly as Light turns off the lights.

The room plunges into darkness.
L is still crouched on the pillows and makes no move to lie down.
"That's not how you sleep," I chuckle mildly.
He sighs and curls up beside me. "I'm not very good at sleeping," he says.
I end up staying awake for a while.
L is unnaturally still when he's awake, so it's hard to tell if he's asleep or not...
It feels like forever until I pick up Light's light snores.

Misa isn't making a sound.
So, she's probably asleep.
"L?" I whisper.
"I thought you were asleep," he says softly.
"Haha, nOpe." I poke his face.
L moves my hand away. "You should sleep, you're tired."
"No, I'm not..." I grumble.
L sighs. "You have too much energy. It's inhuman..." he says.
"I am tired..." I admit in the silence, "I just don't want to sleep."
"Why not?" he asks.
"CauseIdon'tgettokissyouwheneveryoneelseislooking..."
"But they're not looking now..."
Our noses are touching.
"You know, I don't have a place in my world anymore. Does that make me a little monster?" I ask him, thinking back to the last I saw of Damian, and still worrying about it.
"No, you belong with me, Lola," L tells me softly with his hand on my back, pulling me closer to close the minuscule gap between our lips.

I wake up when L decides he's had enough of waiting for us all to wake up so that he can continue with the case.
Him and his PRIORITIES.
Misa isn't pleased.
"Ryuzaki, why did you have to wake us up?" She rubs her eyes, before clamping her arms back around Light. "It's only 9:30!"
"I've waited long enough, you should all be rested," L says simply, literally dragging Light out of bed thanks to the chain.
I pull on some fluffy socks and a navy jumper and follow them into the lift - clinging on to L because he is my favourite thing.
Misa rolls over and falls back asleep.
I wish I were Misa.
But I kinda have a job to make sure the future is correct and also to check that Near's wrist is better.
Mello is with him downstairs.
Near has trapped the blonde in a fort with chocolate bars literally spilling out the top.
That's... nice?
My brain dismisses all non-sensical things while half asleep.
I don't struggle to get out of bed in the morning, but that doesn't mean I'm not tired.
L crouches on his chair and swivels it towards the computer.
"Morning," Yagami and Matsuda chorus.
Mogi doesn't speak much.
Naomi is trying to coax Mello out of the lego tower before he drowns in chocolate.
He doesn't want to leave.
"Nathan, how's your wrist?" I ask.
Near, who's sitting on the other staircase glances down at me. "Better," he says, tossing a toy car down the stairs as if to prove his point.
Poor car.
It smashes.
Near seems satisfied.
Ok...
Naomi approaches me, having given up on stopping Mello from gorging himself on chocolate. "Freya, do you want breakfast?"
"Uh, sure. I like food. I'll come to the kitchen and fry some toast." I yawn and head back up the stairs.
uGh.
Effort.
Naomi looks puzzled. "You don't 'fry' toast," she tells me and follows me to the kitchen.
"I knew that..."
By the time I'm dressed in jeans and a pink shirt, AND am full of syrupy toast, there's been a tiny breakthrough with the case.
"I just found another one," Light voices. "A general manager of a bank, Yotsuba's biggest competitor. On September 7th he slipped and fell on the front steps of his house and died... instantly," he concludes as L takes a sip of tea.
I peer over Light's shoulder. "That sounds like something I would do..."
L shoots me a concerned glance.
"By accident!" I say.
I hear Mr Yagami's footsteps before his voice. "September the 7th was a Friday, wasn't it?"
"Hm?" Everyone turns simultaneously.
"After I went over this again I noticed something; all the deaths which are beneficial to Yotsuba are concentrated around the weekends," Yagami says, coming to a halt behind Light and the others.
"Wow, Chief I can't believe you noticed that!" Matsuda praises.
"I thought I told you to stop calling me chief."
"I'm sorry, but you'll always be the chief to me!"
He'Ll AlWaYs Be iMaGaY tO mE.
"This is a really important clue dad, nice work!" Light says happily.
"Well," Yagami begins, placing the papers on the desk for L and the other to look over, "I can't let myself fall behind you and Ryuzaki. After all, the last thing I want is to be dead weight."
Matsuda stiffens. "Oh... dead weight?" he repeats slowly.
Poor Matsuda.
Feeling hopeless again.
And I don't think that Mogi turning up half a minute later with a mountain of files he's completed all by himself helps matters.

Once Higuchi is caught, many problems will arise.
I've gotta save L.
My options are currently;
Prevent Light from regaining his memories.L somehow fakes his death.
Option two is more of a plan B because it's a hell of a lot more complicated.
Basically, I'd have to trust that Ryuk holds up his end of our bargain, and Rem approaches me as her only hope to save Misa.
I'm sure she'd rather not kill herself for Light's evil plans.
All Rem wants is Misa to be happy, she probably hates Light's godly feet.
THEN, I would have to convince Rem that if she spares L and Watari's life and helps us fake that they're dead, I'll keep Misa alive and safe.
But here's the complicated part; in order for Misa not to commit suicide after Light's death...
Light can't die.
Too many complications for me.
Currently, I'm in a chair stating at L's adorableness.
He has summoned Abier and Wedy to join us on the case.
They both stand like cool people and watch us.
Yagami is MOST displeased that they are criminals.
But he has even fewer rights than Mello.
So we don't care.
"This is a tactic I couldn't really use while we were connected with the police," L scratches his head, "but the way things are now..."
"I see," says Light, "these kinds of people will be helpful when investigating Yotsuba." He seems thoroughly on board now. "Let's work together to solve this case."
"Yeah!" says Matsuda.
He's so excitable...
