Everyone was running around the room, trying to be ready for the Grammys. Andrew wanted to make sure everyone was alright, Mike was checking on his drums and I. I was waiting on my girlfriend, who was getting ready with Tiffany. I knew that this would be amazing, with her by my side I can do anything. I know that she is probably freaking out, she's very shy and with doing this she literally step out of her comfort zone.
The door went open and Tiffany walked in, 'Shawn can u help me?,' you could read on her face what was going on. I walked with her to the dressing room of my girlfriend and waited for a little bit. I knocked on the door and waited for her to say something. 'Hey honey, it's me. Please open the door,' in less than two seconds she opened it and jumped in my arms. 'I cannot do this, Shawn. This is not my cup of tea, you should go alone.'
Her body was shaking and her head was snuggled into my shirt. We got inside and I placed her on one of the counters. 'Shh, don't say that. I know that you can do this. Let them see how beautiful my girlfriend is. I will be there by your side, don't forget that.' I looked down at her body and saw that she was wearing an amazing dress, so beautiful. I pulled her in my arms and whispered some encouraging things in her ear. It helped.
Less than an half hour later, we were on the red carpet. Her hand was squeezing mine so hard that I couldn't feel it anymore, but I didn't care. With every step that we took, I felt that she started to calm down. 'Shawn Mendes is here! With a girl.' One interviewer came first to us and started his interview. 'Well Shawn, who is this lovely lady?' I laughed very softly and then looked over at her. 'She's my girlfriend, it's her first time in the spotlight.'
The interview was very quick done and we just walked to our seats. 'Shawn? Is that Niall Horan? OMG that is him.' I turned around and saw that he was walking over to us. 'Hey buddy, how are you doing? Oh hello, so you're his girlfriend? He cannot stop talking about you whenever we hang out.' The two of us talked for a little while until Camila and Taylor came over. I could see how starstrucked she was. But then one of her other idols past by. Brendon Urie, 'Shawn, baby. That's him. That's Brendon from Panic! At The Disco.'
I pulled her with me to him and started to talk. 'Hey, my girlfriend is a huge fan.' He hugged her and this little feeling took control over my body. They talked for a little and I just went back to our table. When she came back, there was this huge smile on her face making my heart mealt. 'So how was it?,' when she was just standing in front of me, I could feel her lips on mine. 'Thank you thank you thank you,' she whispered against my skin.
The ceremony started and her hand was laying on my thigh, calming me down with every little move she did. 'Babe?,' she turned over to me, 'will you be mad if I didn't win a Grammy?' Her face dropped and a litle sad look appeared. 'What for a question is that? Ofcourse I won't be mad. I don't care if you win one or two. All that matters is, that you are here.' She took my head between her soft hands and pressed our lips together.
'I love you so much,' a sweet, little chuckle left her mouth. 'I love you too, Shawn.' And with those words, she could make me feel better. So much better. Even though I didn't win any of the two Grammys, I was still happy with all the support I had from my amazing fans and my magnificent girlfriend. With them, I would be lost. Oh no, not lost in Japan. But really lost.
