Number 1, I don't hate people, I hate wasted words
Those golden pieces discarded
And I am bombarded by talk
Of clouds or plastic people
In a world always spinning
How the ice sheets are thinning
But no, back to basic talk.
That brings Number 2 where you
Dictate how I entertain myself.
I sure know that it'll always be a quaint place
Independently, in my own thoughts
Stick to you and I'll do me.
Number 3, I am not shy.
I just want my space as a shy face
Doesn't like standing centre stage but I guess
We're all social defects so it's hard to tell the difference.
I think Number 4's just a poor attempt
To shame how we are exempt from your expectations,
False connotations of what a person is supposed to be, supposed to act,
You call my silence rude but do I say the same for your chatter? No.
For Number 5? I don't want to be abandoned
Because alone doesn't mean loneliness.
Number 6 is a mix being patronizing and ignorant
Leaves us the predicament of playing dumb or being mean
by revealing that being quiet is not a speech impediment.
Onto 7, I can be a leader too even though you
May assume that being quiet equals being a follower.
And for 8, introversion doesn't make you great
you can still be anything and everything
It's not a special label that makes you superior.
Linked into Number 9, you can't hop from A to B
More like there's only one journey and there's a designated seat.
And last but not least, Number 10.
It might not seem like it but we are not small in number.
We come in all shapes, sizes and everything in between
Whether we're reading in peace or on the big screen
There are no rules or guidelines that determine
What you can or can't do
Because you are you and I am me.
