As you can probability tell, I'm running out of steam. I hope to finish this story in the next chapter or two. Sorry it has taken a while to update.
Annabeth POV
The flight was uneventful. I studied the architecture as we flew over each village. We arrived at the visitor's entrance to the ministry in a few short hours. We dismounted the horses and squished into the phone booth. Harry got angry at the machine for being too slow. Eventually we arrived in the ministry. There was a beautifully designed atrium with a golden statue in the middle. I was telling Percy all about the load bearing beams and structural reliability as Harry led us over to the lifts. You could tell that the wizards were nervous, they all fidgeted as the lift descended into the bowels of the earth. We got out at the lowest floor.
Percy POV
I was a bit on edge, it's not everyday I fight wizards, especially with people this untrained. Harry led us through a series of passages until we reached a door. He muttered something and pushed it open. We all walked inside. The room was a circle, with doors all around, as soon as we entered the walls spun. We were trapped.
"Welcome to the Department of Mysteries" announced Harry
"So Harry, what are we actually looking for?" Asked Ginny. Neville and Luna both looked at Harry, waiting for and answer.
"We're looking for a room full of glass balls"
"We can try all the doors then mark them like this" Hermione said.
She opened a door, looked inside, and closed it.
"Not in there" she announced. She slashed her wand down and a red mark appeared in the door. The walls spun again but the mark stayed. We checked lots of doors before Annabeth cried
"Here it is".
We all ran inside and ran down the aisles. Harry recognised the aisle number from his dream, but Sirius wasn't there.
" Is this definitely it Harry?" Verified Annabeth
"Yes" replied Harry before resuming his check of the surrounding area.
"Hey Harry" yelled Neville. Harry appeared around the corner.
"Yeah what?"
"This has your name on it" Neville said solemnly
Harry walked over and picked it up, suddenly we were surrounded by figures in cloaked, it was a trap. Annabeth was pressed next to me in the right, Harry was in my left.
"Give me the prophecy Potter" demanded one of the death eaters
"Why? does Voldemort want it?" He asked
"Just hand it over" rasped another of the cloaked figures
"How about no?" Said Harry "what if I was to accidentally drop it?"
"No, Potter" said a feminine voice, Neville snarled.
I decided it was time to break up this cosy gathering. I leapt to the right and took the lead death eater down. The others fired spells and we ran, carrying the prophecy with us.
