Goal of 10k for this book. Or less idk, it's not going to be very long

"So, how long was I unconscious for?" Dream asked warily, running his burnt fingers through the fur of the tabby cat sat on his chest.

Killer looked up at him, momentarily pausing at his work on the giant casts that trapped the smaller's legs. "A whole week. The doctors thought you were dead when I first called them here. And after that, they thought you'd die anyway. But you just managed to stay unconscious for a whole week before finally waking up today."

He closed his eyes, sighing loudly in relief as the first leg cast came off. It felt like a giant pressure had finally been pushed off of him. The feeling of being trapped wasn't as present as it had been before. "Please tell me I'll be able to walk on these legs..."

Killer glanced at him before looking at all the cracks and chips in the God's crudely fixed up legs. The doctors had healed them as much as they could with their magic, and had used normal medical supplies, but they couldn't fully fix the shattered legs. His eyes slid across the room, resting on the pair of crutches that were leant up against the empty wardrobe.

Dream followed his gaze, immediately shaking his head as he saw the crutches. "No. Never in a million years am I using those."

————————

"I hate you."

Killer snickered, looking the irritated God up and down. He'd got all the casts off, and had just given Dream some clothes that weren't completely ripped to shreds.

The smaller was scowling at him, a large plaster covering his bruised left cheek. His now clean circlet was resting on his skull like it should be, glinting slightly under the bedroom light. He was propped up with a crutch in one hand, his other arm being held up in a sling. A rather oversized unzipped hoodie was draped across his frame, the light blue shirt beneath covering up the mess of bandaged and plastered ribs the smaller owned. He wore black shorts, the fabric only covering up to his knees before his freshly bandaged legs were shown. A pair of comfortable trainers had been slipped on his feet, and in all reality, they were a bit to big for him. All the clothes were too big really, but they were the smallest things Killer owned. He'd managed to keep his gloves, but they were left on the bed to keep his bandaged fingers on show.

"I look ridiculous." He hissed, looking down at his new clothes hatefully.

"You look normal. You look like an every day mortal, not a God." Killer narrowed his eyes, looking him up and down. "Isn't that what you want while you figure out how to escape here?"

"I guess..." He muttered, looking down at his casted arm. "But I still look stupid."

Killer cracked a grin, rolling his eyes. "Alright your majesty, so what now? How are we gonna return you to thy world above?"

Dream looked up at him in surprise, blinking. "You want to help me?"

"Uh...yeah? What on Earth did you think I was going to do?"

"Oh um...honestly I thought you were going to kick me out and let me fend for myself..."

"Did your God parents teach you that mortals were some sort of rabid beasts or something? Geez I'm just trying to help." Killer huffed, shoving his hands into his hoodie pockets.

"O-Oh, um, Sorry." Dream mentally kicked himself, looking away. Why had he said that? He was such an idiot.

"Whatever. I'm used to it. Now, what's your plan?" He looked down at him, his expression emotionless. Dream couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or serious.

"Well...I-I don't know..."

Killer blinked, rubbing the back of his neck. "Uh, I could call up my friend if you want. I'm sure he'd be down to help if he knew you were a God."

"But no one's supposed to know!" He hissed, shaking his head. "It's already bad enough that you know of my mortal existence! If your friend found out, I'd be in so much trouble!"

He looked unamused, shrugging as he pulled out his phone. "Think about it your majesty, you're already in super big trouble. Might as well get in more trouble. I mean, it's not like it's going to get any worse."

Dream clenched his hand into a fist, looking down at the floor and biting his bottom 'lip'. "I guess..."

"Great!" Killer exclaimed, immediately tapping away at his phone for a few seconds before holding it up to his non-existent ear at the side of his skull.

The smaller watched nervously, his eyes narrowed as Killer smirked down at him. "Try not to tell him that I'm a God right off of the bat please..."

"I'll try my hardest." He winked before smiling widely as his friend picked up. "Hey Lewis! Yeah it's me, the number one friend in the whole wide world."

Dream looked up at the taller skeleton warily, gripping onto the cuff of his hoodie sleeve tightly. In all honesty, he was extremely nervous about just how much info Killer would leak about him.

"Yeah, I know it's been ages till we talked. But listen up, I have a favour to ask you..." Killer smirked widely at Dream, sticking his tongue out and wiggling it. "Yeah, I have this new friend..."

"You're making me sound like some dodgy creep you met off the Internet..." Dream muttered, rolling his eyes.

Killer ignored him, leaning against the wall. "Yeah, just a friend. I only met him a week ago. Anyways, the favour. So uh basically, he's like uh...um...I'm actually really not sure how to word this without him attacking me."

Dream twitched, shaking his head slowly. "Don't you dare."

"SobasicallymynewfriendisapparentlyagodandIthoughtyou'dbeabletohelpmepinghimbacktowhereverhecamefrom-–"

"KILLER!"

"Sorry!" He held a hand up in apology, listening to the sudden loud rambling his friend started blurting out. "Yeah, yeah, that was him screaming just then. And leading on to what I just said, can we come round yours and look at all those magical mystical books you have?"

Dream glared up at Killer, twitching as he grinned widely at him. "I hate you so much."

"Yeah, I know. Anyways, thanks Lewis! Be down in like half an hour or so!" And with that he hung up, shoving his phone into his hoodie pocket before looking back at Dream. "Now before you kill me, he was going to have to find out one way or another."

"I guess..." He muttered, huffing. "Whatever, let's go."

Killer nodded before glancing at the door. "You're so lucky that my spare room is downstairs cuz I guarantee you would have broken all your bones again trying to walk down my stairs again."

"Very funny."

"Nah, I'm fully serious. My stairs are natural born killers."

"Explain?" Dream raised an eyebrow, huffing as Killer handed him the side crutch.

"When I was seven, I was rushing down these stairs to go to school and I tripped, fell down them, and proceeded to smash my face into the end banister at the bottom and pretty much shatter my skull. And uh, when I was eleven, I invited Lewis round around a month after he'd broken his leg. So like, he'd just got it out of the cast, and then he tripped going down my stairs and proceeded to break his leg all over again. And there was this oNE TIME-—"

"Okay! Okay! Killer I get it!" Dream yelped, shaking his head as he limped into the house's front hallway. He glanced momentarily at the stairs, narrowing his eyes.

"I often still hear Lewis' screams of fear and pain at night, echoing through my house..." Killer whispered in his ear, his voice going all reedy and 'spooky'.

"Killer!" He jolted, glaring at him.

"Sorry, couldn't help myself." Killer snickered, skipping up to the door and swiftly pushing it open before proceeding to yell at the top of his non-existent lungs back at the house. "OKAY MISSY IM GOING OUT FOR A BIT, BUT I'LL BE BACK SOOOOOONNNN!!!"

Dream nearly stumbled back in shock, momentarily squeezing his eyes shut tight in shock. "W-- Was that really needed?!"

"Yeah." The taller grinned widely at him. "She'll get scared if she doesn't know where I am."

"How cute." He muttered, clenching his teeth as he limped out of the door. "Though I'm not sure she heard you, maybe yell louder next time."

Killer frowned, looking back at the house. "Maybe you're right, I'll yell again!"

"Wait no don't you dare!!"
