Cadence's Pov
The next morning I am laying in the crib sleeping soundly
I hear the door creak open which awakes me from my slumber
I rub my eyes sleepily to see prince Levin staring at me intently
Since he's a child and quite small he's tippy-toeing in order to see me from above the crib
His small white hands reach for my cheeks and I became frightened he would pinch me again but instead, he rubbed them gently
[ "Does it still hurt?" ]
He says softly
I can't reply due to my inability to talk so I instead shake my head lightly
His mouth curves into a smile once again revealing his deep dimples
[ "That's good. I'm sorry" ]
He says looking guilty
Using my own hands I grab his that was still rubbing my cheek and smiled at him
It's okay. I'm okay so don't worry
I wanted to tell him
His smile turns tender and gentle
[ "Prince Levin! Where are you, Prince Levin?" ]
A maid from outside calls
[ "I have to go now, bye bye" ]
He leans in and kisses my cheek softly before quietly running off
I watch his fleeting figure until he disappears from sight
I then start giggling light heartedly
The second prince is quite cute now, isn't he?
2 years later...
It has been roughly 2 years since my reincarnation
I decided not to celebrate both my birthdays on a large scale
Instead, I kept it lowkey by simply having dinner at home with Lady Lena, Anne and Levin
By the time I was 6 months, I was able to walk and talk fluently again
Lady Lena was quite shocked at the speed of my growth and would non stop praise me calling me a little genius
Per to her request, I started addressing her as "mommy" which made her beyond overjoyed
As for Levin, every afternoon he'd come to accompany and play with me after he had finished his lessons
He'd teach me all sorts of things and read books with me
Since Lady Lena was "mommy", I thought it made sense that Levin would be "big brother"
Thus that was what I had called Levin and just like his mother, he seemed to love it
It seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree
They both pampered and spoiled me non stop which I felt both grateful and helpless towards
Anne was also still by my side and continued to serve me loyally
Despite the huge difference between their standings, Anne and Lady Lena got along well and became great friends
Every day the four of us including Levin, would sit outside in the garden and enjoy tea and pastries together
I became accustomed to this light-hearted, peaceful lifestyle and I quite liked it, very much so
As for my father, we had only met a couple of times since the coronation
He had exchanged very little words with me and was as cold and aloof as ever
But it's fine, I already have mommy, big brother and Anne
Recently I started to notice a person shadow following me
I wasn't that worried about it since as long as I was in the palace, it'd be very difficult to harm me but Lady Le, on the other hand, nd freaked out
However, after a couple of days, she was strangely no longer worried about the mysterious figure who was constantly watching me and would only sigh helplessly whenever she noticed him
[ "Cady, where are you?" ]
Cady was the nickname Levin had given me
[ "Big brother I'm over here" ]
I said from behind the blooming garden plants
I had been sitting under a tree and reading a novel like usual
Levin smiled cheerfully and ran over to me happily
[ "The fifth princess's birthday is in 2 days so we will naturally be attending the party" ]
Levin said gently as he rubbed my head affectionately like he always did
[ "Who is the fifth princess?" ]
I asked curiously
Although I had many siblings and stepmothers, with the exception of Lady Lena and Levin I had only met the rest of them once which was at the coronation
[ "The fifth princess is the second daughter and youngest child of father's second wife, Lady Lidia" ]
[ "Her name is Princess Vera and I have only met her a few times so I do not know much about her but she seems to be spoiled rotten by her Mother and elder siblings" ]
I nodded my head in response to Levin
If I recall correctly back at the coronation, the second wife had with her two girls
The first girl was very beautiful with long pale pink hair that was slightly curled at the ends and fair porcelain skin
Her beady eyes were a gentle pastel colour and she looked to be very proud and pampered
The second girl was smaller in size and although she was not nearly as beautiful as the first girl, she was still quite adorable looking
She had big bouncy curls that were a much darker shade of pink resembling a magenta colour and her eyes were proud and full of arrogance
Her head was chubby and round and at the corner of her left eye was a small black mole
If I am correct the second girl should be the fifth princess Vera and the first should be her elder sister
Although I do not know her it is quite easy to see that she is a pampered child
[ "Mom and Anne are waiting for us in the room so they can get your gown ready for the ball" ]
I nodded in response and took Levins hand as he began to lead me to them
I wonder, will I manage to get along with the fifth princess?
