"You coming?" Neha asked me as everyone started to get ready to leave the office.
"I guess," I shrugged. When the group decided to go to the strip club, I would've rather stabbed myself in the eye with a fork.
I put my bag over my shoulder and started following the group out of the office. "Hey," Stuart said as he started walking alongside me.
"Hey."
"You okay?"
"I'm fine," I said, rolling my eyes. "Just super excited to go and watch as a bunch of topless women dance together under a fake-ass rain machine."
"It's just a club, Y/N. It's fun."
I stopped walking, making him stop too. He opened his mouth to say something, but I brushed past him and started walking by Nick.
"You okay, kiddo?" He asked when he saw the look on my face.
"I'm fine," I said under my breath. He sent me a knowing look but didn't push me.
When we got to the club, I cringed the second we walked in the door. The stench overwhelmed me and I didn't even want to know what it was. While the group headed straight to the dance floor to dance, I headed straight to a booth to start drinking.
I had just downed my third beer when Stuart walked over. "What are you doing over here?" I slurred. "Shouldn't you be putting a soggy hundred between that lady's breasts?"
"How many drinks have you had?" He sighed as he sat next to me and slowly slid my drink away from me.
"Not enough," I said as I grabbed the drink he pushed away. I was about to put it to my lips when he grabbed it out of my hands. I pouted as he put it on the other side of the table.
"Y/N, what is going on with you?"
"Nothing," I said, clearing my throat. I looked up and bit my lip when I saw him looking at me. "Don't look at me like that with your cute eyes and your cute glasses and your cute smile and your cute face." I reached up and poked his cheek, making him laugh.
He grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers. "Seriously, Y/N. What's going on with you? You've been acting weird lately."
"I'm not weird, I'm average."
"Average?" Stuart reached over and gently turned my head so I was facing him. "What do you mean you're average?"
I couldn't help but laugh as I moved my head, pulling away from his hand. "I'm an average girl, with an average face and an average body. I'm average ugly," I said my voice breaking.
"Y/N, you are not average." He said as he tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. This time I didn't pull away. "And you definitely aren't ugly."
"Yes, I am," I said as a tear escaped and slid down my cheek. He quickly caught it, his hand lingering on my cheek.
"You're gorgeous, Y/N."
I laughed again, turning away from him. "No, I'm not. She's gorgeous. Or her. Or her. I'm not gorgeous. I'm average. Below average."
"Y/N, stop. You are smart, funny, brave, and absolutely gorgeous."
"You're just saying that because I'm your ugly, dorky, best friend."
"You are not ugly and you are not dorky. You're beautiful and smart. Why don't you believe me?"
"Because you guys always insist on coming here!" He leaned back and studied my face. I looked down at my hands, tears streaming down my cheeks. "You always come here, Stuart. You never resist, you never suggest somewhere else. You're always. . .happy to come here."
"So?" He shrugged. "I come here to dance and drink and hang out with everyone."
I scoffed as I looked back up at him. "Do you know how it feels to watch the guy you have a crush on, dance and gawk at other women? Especially women who take their clothes off? It feels like shit, Stuart."
"You have a crush on me?" He asked slowly.
"Of course I have a crush on you, Stuart. You are completely blind." I stood up and started to walk out of the club.
"Y/N, wait." He called after me.
I got outside and was greeted by the cold San Fransisco air. "Y/N, will you stop?" He sighed as he grabbed my arm.
I gasped as he spun me around and pressed his lips to mine. It took a second for my drunk mind to realize that Stuart was kissing me. When it did, I started kissing him back. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he wrapped his around my waist.
I moaned as our lips moved in sync and he pressed me against the side of the club. I bit my lip and let out another moan as he moved and started kissing down my neck.
He pulled away and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. "I don't come to the club to stare at other women. I come to stare at you."
"Really?"
"Of course. Those women aren't my type. You are," he said as leaned down and pressed his lips to mine. "Now," he smirked as he pulled away. "Let's get outta here."
