Whoop whoop happy valentine's day! Can we get an F for all the single pringles out there?
No?
Okay.
So I had no ideas for the Valentine's Day Special but then I was like WAIT LET'S DO HEADCANONS so I did just that. No killing game AU, gender neutral pronouns used, yada yada yada. Here's the result, and I hope you enjoy it :)
Shuichi:
-He dresses up nice for his S/O.
-He'll drop the hat, maybe grab a bowtie, probably buy flowers.
-He'd take you to a movie because he likes to be in the dark (the edgy lad).
-He'd pick something at random, not necessarily romantic because some of the romance movies he has are c h e e s y.
-He'd consider making chocolate and then remember the time he burned a microwave meal because he didn't pop holes in the top of the packaging before putting it in.
-He'd probably hold your hand and tell you he loves him.
-Yes, he hates cheesy things but gOD DAMMIT IF THIS BOY DOESN'T TELL YOU HE LOVES YOU HE WILL I M P L O D E.
-So yeah.
-Fun times.
Kaede:
-She would take you to a fireworks show (with a picnic, obviously).
-She ain't no amateur to romance.
-The day before you got a message from her.
-'You get the flowers and I make the chocolate?'
-'Deal but PLEASE don't burn the kitchen down again.'
-'Teruteru's helping me.'
-'please don't let the tiny demon into you're heart ilysm—'
-The chocolate isn't great (Teruteru was too busy flirting to focus) but you ate it anyway.
-The flowers were pretty though.
-At the end of the night when you both got home she sat at her piano and sung a short love song.
-It was adorable.
-She was adorable.
-You watched movies with popcorn until you both fell asleep on the couch.
-Beautiful.
Rantaro:
-He handled romance okay.
-Like he wasn't a God at it but whatever.
-He kept things simple: a day where you both lay in bed and did nothing but chill and listen to music.
-P e r f e c t i o n .
-You both slept in until morning and took turns making each other breakfast.
-You both went with pancakes because you're sane human beings.
-Then you watched TV and cuddled because, again, you're sane human beings.
-It'd be a good day.
Ryoma:
-He'd try making chocolate and think they're no good. You'd find them in the kitchen bin.
-He'd buy flowers but he'd worry that you were allergic. You'd find them wilted in the compost bin.
-He'd set up a movie night and worry about bugging you. You'd find the blankets folded up on the couch.
-So, he struggled to take action. You didn't mind.
-You'd get some popcorn and crisps and tell him you needed him and invite him to sit on the couch.
-You wouldn't watch a movie, just whatever was on TV at the time.
-Neither of you would say much and snack in a comfortable silence.
-You just liked being in each other's presence.
-It'd be pretty peaceful.
Kirumi:
-She'd go to a fancy restaurant with you.
-She'd dress very formally but she looked really good.
-You'd talk about everything and anything while you waited for the food and made plans to go out to the theatre later that evening.
-The food was a godsend (mostly because Kirumi knew what she was doing when she was ordering, specifically telling the chefs what they should do to make the food good).
-The theatre was nice, too.
-You saw a musical and held hands during most of the songs.
-Again, it was a peaceful night.
Angie:
-She loved Valentine's Day and always tries to make it special.
-She likes having a BBQ outside to make smores.
-It just seems like a cute activity to do, Valentine's-y or not.
-If it rains, she makes chocolate inside with you.
-You make a mess but Angie calls it "artistic freedom".
-She'd also probably do some abstract art with you.
-Anything sort of fun and relaxing all day.
-The chocolate would taste very sweet (Angie has a tendency to go overboard with sugar) and the art would look very endearing.
-You'd end the day by praying to Atua for your relationship to continue strongly.
-Angie would tell you that Atua says you are both a perfect fit.
-And that's perfect for you.
Tenko:
-She'd spend the day working tirelessly as usual.
-Sometimes she even forgot it was Valentine's Day.
-You didn't mind this.
-You would both go to the gym or something (which is usually very empty on Valentine's Day) and train and chat and the like.
-While walking home Tenko would do something very last minute and very cute.
-You'd both pass a bakery and she'd see a really nice red velvet cake.
-So she'd tell you to walk ahead while she secretly bought it and came home later.
-Y'know, a cute surprise.
-You'd spend the rest of the evening eating cake and relaxing after a long day of hard work.
Korekiyo:
-Oh, he LOVED Valentine's Day.
-He loved the connotations, the history, the traditions, everything about it, especially spending time with his S/O.
-He'd be insistent on trying each activity, not because he wanted to but because he wanted to make the day special for you.
-Chocolate making, buying flowers, going out somewhere, a romantic movie.
-You insisted that for once you did something he wanted to do.
-He said he wanted to read together with a tray of chocolate on the coffee table.
-Done and done.
-You'd both sit reading your favourite books while eating chocolate.
-Was the chocolate homemade?
-Nope.
-Was it still a nice day?
-Absolutely.
Miu:
-She'd probably forget until the night before.
-So she'd lock herself up in her room all night working on making something for you.
-Of course, not even the SHSL Inventor could whip something up so quickly.
-It wasn't because she didn't have the skill, but because she couldn't pick an idea perfect enough for her S/O.
-You found her in the morning (you had to bust her room's lock) passed out on her workbench. You shook her awake, asking if she was okay.
-She nodded tiredly and dropped back off almost immediately.
-So, you did what any good person would do and lay her on her bed and sat with her for a while.
-She woke up to a box of chocolates and a glass of water, with a few rose petals for good measure.
-There was a note.
-"Happy Valentine's Day!"
Gonta:
-He'd insist on bringing you to the park late at night.
-You asked him why so late and he told you it was a surprise.
-Ominous but okay.
-Gonta was too pure to hurt you.
-Or anyone, for that matter.
-You spent the day relaxing at home together, nothing too special.
-When night fell, you could just see the joy in Gonta's eyes.
-You walked to the park, holding hands.
-When you arrived you saw Angie and Kaede setting up a small picnic before hurrying off.
-Confused, you asked Gonta what was going on.
-"Surprise!"
-The timing was perfect.
-As the sun dipped down for good, you saw light.
-Fireflies.
-It was amazing and fascinating all at the same time.
-You hugged Gonta and watched the fireflies for a long time.
-When you fell asleep, you woke up at home on your bed.
-It all felt surreal and perfect.
Kokichi:
-He'd basically hide.
-He didn't know what to do on Valentine's Day?
-Like, go out for a date, sure, but he only got his inspiration after spending an entire day hiding in the closet, too scared to approach you.
-He would take you to a carnival.
-It'd be amazing.
-Perfect.
-He went to let himself out to tell you his glorious plan when he realised something.
-The lock was... stuck.
-Oh no.
-He ended up banging on the doors until you let him out.
-You asked him why he was in there and he made up some excuse about trying to be Houdini.
-Weird flex but okay.
-One way or another you ended up at a carnival.
-You didn't tell him that you'd been hinting about going to a carnival all day yesterday.
Kaito:
-Stargazing.
-Easy.
-He'd bring food and stuff and sit at the local park.
-He'd point out constellations and then ramble on about space.
-You liked listening to him ramble, even if you didn't get what it all meant half the time.
-Sometimes you'd get more introspective.
-You'd talk about your future, the future in general, about the fragility of life and how in every truth there is a lie.
-Sometimes you'd say that you were glad to have spent Valentine's Day with such a great guy and he'd agree.
-He liked spending time with you to.
-And he knew damn well that he was a great guy.
-Then, after the introspective stuff, you'd move on like it never happened.
-As it should be.
Tsumugi:
-She'd for once not cosplay as anyone else and just be herself for once.
-She'd take you to some nice restaurant and order nice food and have nice conversations.
-You'd both be dressed nice, too.
-Nothing too dramatic.
-It didn't feel plain, though.
-Just nice.
Kiibo:
-He was lost from the very start of the relationship, let alone on the day where you literally celebrate your relationship.
-He tried making chocolate and burned it.
-He tired to find a good movie but all of the mixed reviews confused him.
-The poor guy tried, okay?!
-In the end he took you to a restaurant because it felt like a safe bet.
-It didn't go as planned.
-He didn't have an eating mechanism.
-It was a tad bit awkward until you suggested just to go home and have some ice cream there. You could lay on the couch until you fell asleep. It'd be great.
-Sounded better so you both decided to leave the restaurant.
-You tipped the waiters who brought your starters and told them to cancel your orders.
-You didn't bother with a refund and went home.
-You had ice cream and Kiibo was just happy to be home.
-He was just happy to spend time with you.
Maki:
-She'd be kind of anxious.
-She didn't want to go out in public or anything.
-Thankfully, you'd suggested a movie night instead.
-Movies were good. She could get behind that.
-You both chose to eat ice cream sandwiches while finding the cringiest movie you could find.
-You both enjoyed things by laughing at them for being terrible.
-Ironic enjoyment is the best kind of enjoyment there is, after all.
-You both liked it.
-Maki didn't have to be too intimate.
-You didn't have to get up from the couch all evening.
-It was pretty great.
Himiko:
-She had a trick up her sleeve.
-Quite literally.
-She spent the day pretending to forget that it was Valentine's Day.
-No big deal, just a tad bit annoying since you'd gone out of your way to make chocolate by hand for her.
-She barely even saw you all day. She went out to do street magic.
-You'd even taken a day off for her.
-An hour goes by and you start to lose hope.
-Himiko has forgotten.
-Ah well, chocolate is chocolate, despite who you made it for.
-You ate a bit of your homemade chocolate while waiting for Himiko to come home at the end of the day.
-You put on a cheesy romcom to play in the background, too.
-She came back an hour later, drenched.
-It was raining outside, after all.
-She was sobbing.
-You immediately felt any pettiness leave you as you ran up to her and hugged her, taking her soaked hat from her head and hanging it onto a coat hanger to dry off.
-Himiko tearily explains that she'd tried to surprise you with something but the rain ruined it.
-She pulled away from you and pulled out a bouquet of soggy flowers from up her sleeve.
-They were droopy and sad-looking to anyone else, but to you they were the most beautiful thing you'd ever seen.
-You took the bouquet and hugged the little mage tightly, telling her how much you loved her surprise and her in general.
-She sniffed and wiped away her tears and hugged you again, pecking you on the cheek.
-You spent the rest of the day watching that cheesy romcom you put on before with the flowers left to dry a bit on the kitchen table, so that you could put them in a nice vase for later.
-Cute.
