BEN TOOK THE CHANCE TO JUMP UP FROM HIS SEAT the minute the claps from the audience became fainter and the lights from the ceiling slowly faded. The BAFTA's was finally done and a bunch of celebrities started leaving the theatre, heading towards the reception of the after-party but no one expected the swift run from Ben as he sprinted towards the hallway where he saw his beautiful girlfriend standing, leaving the Bohemian Rhapsody cast flabbergasted as he suddenly disappeared, "Another one bites the dust, Ben!" Joe playfully called out, making Brian and Roger laugh out loud as Ben sprung out a middle finger and exited the auditorium.
He felt like a giddy teenager, excitement rushing through his body and his throat aching from the time he yelled out 'That's my girlfriend!' while Anya was standing on stage as a presenter— he remember his heart rapidly racing when Anya turned her head and squinted her eyes to search where he was and when she finally spotted him, sent him a blowing kiss and smile that made him breathless. He could vaguely remember Joe's mouth dropping in surprise besides him though he ignored all of them, he knew what he did would be featured in media articles and he knew fans are probably in chaos now but he didn't care.
The second he heard the host call Anya's name and she walked in the stage, he felt as if all signs of rationality left his body. She looked like a goddess and it left him speechless. Her gown and suit jacket sparkled under the lights, making it seem like there's a glowing aura surrounding her body. The beautiful shade of blue brought out her magnificent eyes and the strikingly exotic features of her face. Ben couldn't help but let out a sigh when he relieved the memory inside his mind. She is truly a queen, in all her might. Her grace and elegance was astonishing and he can't wait to embrace and kiss her with all his might.
"Ben!" The familiar voice bolted him out his thoughts and he grinned widely, spinning so quick that he nearly earned a whiplash from it. There, he saw her. His darling. Anya. She appeared more resplendent up close and that was the only time he observed she was no longer wearing her suit jacket and her gown displayed her curves nicely made his breath hitch, and before he even realized it, she stepped forward and pressed a kiss on his lips.
The electric shock from their kiss almost startled him until he pressed his hands on the sides of her face and deepened it. His eyes were however still open, glamorous green gazing deeply into her alluring orange-greenish ones. Their kiss lasted for minutes until Anya removed her lips from his, breathing heavily and she laughed as Ben frowned for a second, and pressed a loving kiss on her cheek. "I didn't know you have a tattoo," he remarked, his eyes drifting to the tattoo on her back with the Love, Always and Forever script embedded on it.
"I have, but this is a new one." She admitted almost shamefully, her cheeks tainting red and Ben got curious, "Oh? You have to show me some of your other tattoos then. I didn't know you were such a naughty girl, love~" he jested and Anya blew a raspberry, glancing and offhandedly mentioning, "I had it tattooed for you."
His face turned confused for a moment, "What do you mean?" However, just as she opened her mouth to reply a figure slammed themselves on his back and he stumbled a bit, causing Anya's eyes to widen, letting out a laugh when she saw who it was, "Benjamin sweetheart, I can't believe you'd leave me there! Give me a kiss— oof." The person exclaimed and Ben's brows furrowed, immediately recognizing the owner of the annoying voice was.
"Joseph, get the fuck off my back!" Ben irritatedly replied, dropping the man as his peripheral caught a certain few people observing them with amusement. Lucy and Rami's arm were intertwined each other as Lucy's smile widen, seeing Anya beside him. Gwilym seemed bemused however Brian and Roger had the brightest cheshire grins anyone could ever see in someone else's face. It was terrifying to see and Ben let out a shiver subconsciously when Roger's smirk increased, Anya meanwhile gaped seeing the two rock legends in the flesh. She was on the verge of squealing if it weren't for Ben's hand clasping hers while he looked at them suspiciously, "Why do you all look like you're planning something? Roger, I mean dad-"
"We just want to meet Anya, don't be so skeptical, Ben. Come here, Anya!" Lucy butted in, removing her arm from Rami's as she nearly ran to give her a huge embrace. Anya chuckled loudly and hugged the girl back, "Lucy! Finally!"
"Yes, finally. Does this mean the sleepover's will be happening?" Lucy inquired, her eyebrow raised questioningly and Anya let out a sheepish laugh, shivering from the cold and Ben's eyes noticed it, putting his suit jacket around her body to keep her warm. He then noticed their gazes so he coughed and let Anya continue speaking, "Ben and I are actually going back to LA after this for the Oscar's. But you guys are coming too, right?"
"Yeah, we are. Although, give me a hug, Anya! I'm jealous." Gwilym playfully said and hugged her tightly at the same time Joe frowned, "What about me, Anya? I'm hurt, you have to give me a kiss~ it's payment for stealing Ben away from me- OW! Jesus Christ." Joe winced when Ben brought his hand down his head, causing Roger and Brian to shake their heads exasperatedly. Anya winked before pressing a kiss on his cheek, "Payment's done."
"You shouldn't have done that, love. I'm betrayed." Ben faked a hurt expression on his face and Roger clicked his tongue and smiled, gazing at Anya, "So, you're my daughter-in-law?"
That made Ben protest loudly, his cheeks pinking and Brian fondly looked at the couple, memories rushing back to his mind. "I'm just his girlfriend, Roger. But it's a pleasure to meet you two legends! I'm genuinely crying inside." Anya rambles excitedly, not noticing the affectionate expression on Ben's face.
"She's a keeper, Ben. Although it's too early, welcome to the family! You two are bound to end up together eventually." Roger teased, "Damn right! When you guys get married, I'll be the best man for I am the best, okay?" Joe added, making Gwilym object, "I should be the best man, Joseph. I am the daddy after all, it's my right."
"Are they always like this?" Anya whispered in Ben's ear, her hands gesturing towards the two bickering guys. Ben snorted in reply, "Oh you have no idea, but please don't believe any shit they spew out of their mouths." He warned, earning a snicker from the female.
Roger clapped his hands powerfully, silencing Joe and Gwilym who both looked like kids who got caught stealing candy, "We all know I will be the best man, I'm Ben's father after all." Roger announced proudly and Brian shook his head, disagreeing, "You're delusional, it's obvious old age is catching up to you, Rog. I will be the best man."
Anya wheezed when Roger sent an intense glare to Brian's way and Ben choked on air, hearing what the two declared. He ignored it when Joe and Gwilym were the ones fighting but Roger and Brian? That was unusual and shocking. Rami clapped his hands heartily and Lucy couldn't help but convulse in guffaws. Even Joe and Gwilym themselves looked stunned.
"Why the bloody hell have we gone from introducing Anya to fighting over who's going to be the best man at 'our' wedding? What wedding? There's no wedding happening?" Ben sputtered as everyone excluding Anya spoke simultaneously with doubt in their voices, "You lie."
"I can't stand you all," Ben muttered, crossing his arms and that seemed to end the conversation when Rami and Lucy walked in front of them and Joe, Roger and Gwilym followed with Anya in front of Ben. They looked like they were ready to slay the after-party. And they did.
