"Bae?" Aaliyah called out
"Yeah?"I said coming out the bathroom
"Can we go to the movies?" She smiled making me laugh
"I got you. We can go tomorrow" I said causing her to frown
"Why can't we go tonight?"
"I got the dinner at Leah's parent's crib remember?"
"Oh yeah today's the day ya'll gonna tell everyone Nala's yours" She said
Even though I know it pains her that I have another child and not by her she's doing the best she can to be supportive and that's all I could ask for
I mean if she wants to be with me she has to accept the fact that I have 2 kids now and they come before anyone.
I'm not making the same mistake I made with Ja'Vontae
"Yeah I mean it's only right because I ain't about to keep telling people the story over and over so just one big ass family dinner and call it a day" I said making her laugh
"Is it just family or?" She asked
I already knew where this conversation was headed
"If you wanna go hurry up and get dressed cause yo ass takes forever" I told her
"Boy that's all you" She said
"Girl hurry up"
She squealed getting out of the bed giving me a kiss before running the bathroom
I laughed at her excitement.
I sat on the bed grabbing my phone off the charger so I could call Leah and let her know that Aaliyah so there wouldn't be no problems
"Hello?" Vontae answered
"Lil nigga why you on yo mama phone?" I asked
"This my phone"
"What you doing?"
"YouTube"
"Stay on that shit. Pass the phone to mommy" I told him
"No" He told me straight up
"No? Nigga don't get beat" I told him
"You ain't doing shit to my baby and call him a nigga again JR" Leah said coming on the phone
"Man he bad" I laughed
"No he's not. But wassup?"
"Damn no How are you ? No are you okay? What kind of best friend are you?"
"JR quit playing before I hang up" She said
"Sorry damn but I just wanted to see if it was ight if I brought Aaliyah to the dinner? She's really wanna go and support a nigga" I said
"I mean yeah it's up to you. As long as she ain't on bs then she cool. She's your girl and it's not gonna be fair for my man to be there and not your girl so go head"
"Ight bet thanks Le I appreciate it"
"Don't thank me now let me go get yo kids ready cause they really testing me" She said
"Don't hurt my kids Le" I warned
"Yeah yeah" She said before hanging up
I laughed shaking my head putting it back on the charger
"Did she say it was okay?" Aaliyah asked as she came out the bathroom
"Yeah she's cool with it. As long as there's no drama then she don't care" I told her
"I'm not on drama no more. I know I can't do nothing about what happened. The past is the past and she's not a random. She's someone you literally known your whole life so and I can't compete with that. As long as you stay faithful and no one gets out of line then I'm good" She said
"That's all I could ask for because trust me this shit is frustrating for me too. I ain't mean for all this to happen and the last thing I need is to be caught in between ya'll drama. All I care about is my kids being straight"
"I know and I hate being in this situation too but like I said I'm good" She came up to me giving me a kiss
"Good now hurry up"
KAREEM
"Come on Vontae let's wait downstairs cause yo mama gonna take forever to get ready" I said as I picked him up
"Juice?"
"You want Juice kid?"
"Yes" He said getting excited
I laughed walking down the stairs towards the kitchen so I could get him some juice.
Nala was knocked out so I didn't have to worry about her until it was time to go and Leah woke her up.
I grabbed him a juice opening it then handing it to him before heading to the basement.
I knew he was about to make noise and I didn't want to wake Nala up.
"Dance Keem" He said as he started dancing
"You wanna dance lil man?" I laughed
He was one of the most active one year old I've met in my life. Leah did an amazing job making sure he learned early.
"Yeah" He squealed
"Ight bet"
I turned the music on and started dancing with him
"Get it Vontae" I hyped him up
Just watching him brought a smile to my face. I loved these kids like they were mine. I mean considering the fact that I can't have kids this is the closet thing ima get to being a dad.
"Dance" He told me so I started dancing again
"What are you guys doing?" Leah said as she came down the stairs
"Dance mommy" Vontae told her
"You dancing baby?"
"Yeah with Keem" He smiled
"You look beautiful" I told her pulling her to me once she was in arms reach
"Well thank you. You look handsome too" She kissed me
I was in love with this girl and I don't even know when it happened. She's different than most girls and something about her just attracts me to her.
And she's a wonderful mother who does anything for her kids and she treats a nigga like a king what more can you ask for in a female?
"Come on kid let's go upstairs and see your sister" I told Vontae who automatically headed for the stairs.
Laughing I turned the music off before heading up the stairs after them.
"You nervous?" I asked her as we reached the top of the stairs
"Kinda.I mean with my family you never know the outcome of anything"
"But shit happened and it's not like it was anything bad"
"I know I just hate the way it's gonna make you look"
"Listen you ain't making me look no type of way. Neither of those kids were made because you cheated. Vontae was before us and we were broken up when Nala was made. I did my shit during that period of time so nobody should have anything negative to say. Besides it's by the same guy who you've known your whole life. So in my eyes there's nothing wrong"I shrugged
KAYLEAH
I stared at Kareem wondering what did I do to deserve him because lord knows I'm no saint.
"You know you're too good to be true" I said making him laugh
"Baby that's because you fucking with a real man" He pulled me closer
"Like for real. I know I give you a hard time and it might seem like I don't appreciate you but I really do" I kissed him
"I know you do and I told you I ain't going no where. Besides considering the fact that I can't give you kids I'm glad that you get the chance to be a mother to both a boy and girl" He told me
"Ight let's go before you make me cry like a bitch" I laughed pulling apart
"Let's go before your mother gets mad" He said grabbing Vontae's coat
I headed towards the play room where Nala was sleep peacefully
Walking in I walked over to the crib looking at how beautiful she looked
"Aww mamas you're about to hate me" I said as I picked her up causing her to wake up and start crying "I know baby I know but we gotta go" I told her rocking her to sleep
"Mommy here" Tae walked in giving me her pacifier
"Thank you son"
I finally got her to calm down so I could put her hoodie on and place her in the car seat.
Kareem took the carseat from me heading outside with the kids while I gathered everything I needed.
Lord let's see how this dinner goes
