Basics— for me.
I was asked:
Ate, paano po kayo nakakagawa ng stories?
Answer:
Nagpa-pop up lang sila. HAHAHAHAH
Writers who studied creative writing or similar may follow systematic ways. Ako kasi... hindi. That's why kapag may naghihingi ng tips, I don't think I am credible to give one so...
...so whatever I will share my ways na lang.
First thing first, I'm weird.
Unlike others, una kong iniisip ay prologue (or chap 1) tapos ending. Yup, before writing first few chapters, may ending na ako.
Tapos climax.
Saka na sa fillers, rising action, and resolution.
May ending na ako before may title or names of characters.
Which is different from other writers... kasi during one of Psicom's events, authors were asked how they make stories...
hehe ako lang ang sumagot na sa ending ako nagsisimula. I don't know, feeling ko kasi hindi ko mapipicture out yung buong plot kapag wala pa akong ending.
Another thing:
BESTFRIEND=GOOGLE.
Yas, research is the key.
like kung magsusulat ka ng tungkol sa baril... you need to know what is a basic gun.
Pwede namang sabihin mo lamang na baril.
example.
Kinuha niya ang baril at inilagay sa kanyang sintido. After a second, there was a loud bang.
—okay, understood na baril. na pinaputok ang baril. so simple to understand but...
it's nice if you improve it.
example:
Kinuha niya ang baril. He place the muzzle on his temple. He slipped his finger and pulled the trigger.
A/N: lol 'lang kwenta... in-english ko lang.
—pero kumpara sa una... I think the second one is better. If hindi ka nagresearch, hindi mo alam kung aling bahagi ang muzzle or ang trigger (example lang... though alam kong alam nyo na alin ang muzzle at trigger hahahaha)
Basta yung mga bagay na isusulat mo pero wala kang ideya paano, consult google.
—like kung ilalarawan mo ang spaceship... wag kang gagawa ng sarili mong parts hahaha (you can but you need to know the basics) at malalaman mo 'yan sa tulong ni Google

—Plot and Characters
Characters, sila 'yong magdadala sa story mo. Even if you have a cliché plot, if you develop your characters well... I swear maganda pa rin.
for me, parang nagiging bandwagon kasi tayo eh... like kapag sinabing Cliché, hindi na maganda.
kasi 'yon nakatatak sa isipan natin. But no. For me, even if cliché, a story will be masterpiece— basta na-justify ng characters.
Halimbawa:
Bad boy, good girl, nagkainlove-ban, nagbago si Boy.
Cliché?
Yasss, but if your characters are unique, maganda pa rin no matter what.
Bad boy— common na player, basagulero, may malungkot na past etc.
how about you make it... si Bad boy, player... player pa rin pero special sa kanya sa girl.
like dude in real life, himala na ang maging sobrang good na... so you can design him as still a player pero sa huli... dun sya kay girl though may mga side chicks minsan hahaha
or si Bad boy... gawin mong may sikreto. Hindi yung puro pambubugbog at kalandian lamang ang alam. Like si Bad boy is unique... that he plays chess with people as chess pieces. Diba may element of mystery? Huwag mo igive up lahat agad tungkol sa characters mo... leave readers in thirst, yung tipong magki-crave sila. Like ano ba talagang laro ng bad boy na 'to? ganern.
Tapos itong si good girl— lampa, damsel in distress, hate si boy.
Cliche? yes
Try making it, si good girl, damsel in distress pero dude kaya nya sarili niya. hindi siya pabigat sa iba, matapang siya.
Cliche pa rin? Okay?
So mix it. Damsel in distress, pero may times na kaya niya ang sarili niya. Spice it up with twists... like kaya niya ang sarili niya pero may panibagong obstacle kung saan papasok si Boy. No, don't let boy takes all the credit. How about cooperation?
Engage them in something na wala sa stories na may same ng plot na iniisip mo. Kumbaga parehas kayo ng hinuhukay ng ibang writers (na may same plot sayo)
...but to be unique, wag kang maghukay pababa gaya niya. Maghukay ka sa gilid... ganern. Lumihis ka para masabing iba 'yong sa'yo. Na kahit cliche yung plot...
...wow, may something new naman, salamat sa mga characters.
