"You know, it's crazy because I feel like I know this guy from somewhere." I told Dave while we were driving behind Malcom still.
"Yeah, from where?"
"I thought from maybe school or something in the past. Like maybe he went through puberty or something and changed." I pondered.
"So he went through puberty and still look like that? Looking like a whole man child." Dave laughed.
"Shut up, you ain't all that either." I smirked.
"Yeah, you keep lying to yourself."
"Mhm. I'm the one lying. But, he said he was from Delaware, maybe he went to school near there and we just happened to cross paths. Something about him is very familiar. We definitely met before." I thought, chewing on my lip.
Dave's grip on my leg tightened a bit, making me look up at him.
He seemed to be in deep thought about something.
"You good?" I asked.
"Yeah, yeah. Just made me think about something." He said.
We continued driving for a little while longer before pulling up to what looked like a storefront.
I was definitely feeling the look of this one already.
Throughout the walkthrough, every time Malcom spoke it was directed to me. It's like he was pretending Dave wasn't there at all. At first he thought Dave wasn't coming in at all when he stayed in the car for a little, on a phone call.
I tried not to pay any mind to it. And making sure no one was adding to the fire. The air was just so tense.
Either way, I loved this place. It was perfect for everything I needed to do here. The open design and brick layout was amazing.
"So, how are we feeling about it?" Malcom asked looking directly at me.
"I love it. I think this is it. What you think, D?" I said trying to engage him in the conversation like I've been doing this whole time.
"It's cool, once you put your little spin and finishing touches on things, I think it'll be dope. You really feeling it?" He asked.
"I am." I cheesed.
"Well it's looks like the third times the charm! Let me get some paperwork going so we can file your interest in the property." Malcom said, heading back to this car.
"I'm about three seconds from snatching him up, bro." Dave spoke.
"Calm down. He's harmless, I'm sure."
"He ain't gon do shit. You right about that. But I'm telling Willow, you have to get someone else to finish up this process for you." He told me.
I just looked at him confused, and a little stunned actually.
Before I could say something back, Malcom came in again.
We sat down and went over the paperwork and I signed a few things. About twenty minutes later we were out.
"What's the problem? This guy hasn't tried to come onto me or anything. He's been nothing but professional...for the most part." I stated, once we pulled off.
"It's a little complicated right now. But I'm telling you. Somethings up with your boy, Willow. Ain't nobody taking you away from me anyhow. That's not and will never be the issue." He said.
I just huffed, not wanting to talk about it right now. My stomach was growling and we were on our way to lunch. So that's all I wanted to think about.
